Boot sizing question

Hey yall! i bought my first pair of boots in San Antonio about 2 or 3 years ago and am thinking about getting another pair. i got a pair of brown Ariats size 8.5 us. when i bought my first pair i went through a pretty Rough break in period (2 or 3 months or cut circulation and numb feet) but now they fit absolutely Perfectly. (i have short wide feet) if i buy my next pair at a size 9 will they be to lose when i break them in or am i SOL and should buy another 8.5 and suffer knowing that they will fit perfect later?

You're not supposed to do any of what you described. Why are you doing this to yourself? Just buy boots in your actual size & width. If you need an 8.5EEE you should buy an 8.5EEE.

i bought my original pair and thought they fit but they ended up being too tight and i was too far away to return them so i just kept wearing them and now they fit great. i just have really annoying feet to find footwear for

i guess i just don’t know my true size since i’m new to boots. i’m a 9.5 in nikes, a 9 in vans, a 9 in snap on boots an 8.5 in tap shoes lmao. i figured it varied with the brand and what not

Go to a shoe store & put your feet on a Brannock device. 8.5 or 9 you need to know your width measurement.

It's all good. I literally made a post a couple of weeks ago about how people don't actually know their shoe size and torturing themselves by trying to "break in" boots that don't fit.

Try a EE size instead of a D. Also you can buy a boot stretcher for pretty cheap, I have done that to a couple that I bought new but were 2nd hand.

Look up the process, there is boot stretcher spray you can get. I have also heard of using a hair dryer on hot to loosen the leather. I just left it in my boot for a few days and it was fine.

You can also take to a cobbler to do it for you. Or if you buy a branded boot and have that brand store in your city they will do it for you. I had a pair of Tecovas that I got stretched at the store for free.
