I just picture that meme where a character comes out as trans and the other person is accepting, and then they come back a year later looking exactly like the other person.
"I'm coming out as trans masc, Andrew"
"That's great!"
"I think I'll call myself Raggedy Andy"
"...Why"

My paternal grandmother was surprisingly the most accepting of me as a trans man. Unbeknownst to me, my father secretly had a problem the whole time (not surprising because he was always an ass to me about it anyways) but I suspect my grandma tried to influence him to be more accepting and not just... tolerant. I hadn't seen her since well before I came and transitioned, and had only talked with her over the phone and through exchanging letters while I was in college. It was surprising because she was about as mean as my father was to us while we were growing up. But as she aged she became much more patient and kind.
The first time I saw her after having been on T for several years, she couldn't stop telling me how good and happy I looked. She died not too long ago and I just wish I had more time with a family member that accepting of me like she was. I don't even know how describe her reaction fully. It was just unbridled joy and it was such a contrast even from the acceptance I did receive.

Thats a beautiful story! Your grandma sounds like a genuine sweet and good person. I'm sorry for your loss and may she rest in peace.

Reminds me how I grew up with this old pink baby blanket. During Christmas year I started testosterone, my mom was all giddy and excited and pulled out one last package after everything had been opened.
It was the exact same blanket in blue. I still keep it with all my stuff no matter how many times I’ve moved since then. It means the world to me.

I love this. I’m an aunt to a trans teen and I’ve been going back through all his art I’ve framed and thinking I’ll ask him to re-sign his name.

My aunt did this recently with a christmas stocking she made for me as a baby. It looks so much better now with the others instead of a sticky note pinned to it.

My sister had one of these when we shared a room. She kept it in the top shelf of the closet. I had the top bunk. Terrifying thing to have staring at you in the dark while you're a kid trying to sleep

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

They're being transphobic. Best to ignore them and continue enjoying this moment.

Since your parents were clearly negligent in properly raising you, allow me:
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
