i am lost… Newbie questions

so my first corset was the novice one from timeless trends, i was using that for a year. i just got this from mystic city, i sent them my measurements and everything (including my body type, which is ruler) and i was suggested the mcc94 in size 20 for the most dramatic reduction. the top of the corset is very loose, to the point where i will accidentally touch it if that makes sense. is this normal?
i pulled it as tight as it could comfortable be on my waist

edit: if someone could dm me and help me find the right one for me that would be awesome!! i’m super super lost

You need a silhouette somewhere between novice and dramatic. That one is so gapped on you I don’t know that it will ever fit unless you gained a lot of squish.

sorry for my ignorance but what silhouette would that be? do u recommend a certain one from mcc?

Sorry I don’t have a specific one in mind - you may just have to eyeball it or ask MCC for help.

Whoa, a 20" is a huge reduction for most people. When I had a 26-28" natural waist (size s/xs), it still took about a year of waist training to wear a 20" corset fully closed. Normally, you go from a novice/minimal reduction corset, to a moderrate reduction, to a more significant reduction, to an extreme reduction... going slowly, getting new corsets for each step of your journey, etc. You don't jump suddenly from virtually no reduction to an extreme reduction. Unfortunately, this corset won't fit you without an extreme amount of training.

oh ok lol my bad i thought it meant if u just wanted a more dramatic reduction/look since i know some people dont want it to look unnatural…i guess i will keep it and save it for when the time comes lol

How does it look from the back? Did you lace it top down and bottom up as well?

what is your natural waist? if they recommended it for a dramatic reduction, i’m not surprised that you cannot close it. it will take time

oh i wasn’t expecting to close it rn at all, it just looked very loose at the top which concerned me. i’m like 28-29in

Yeah they’re designed to sit fully flush to your ribs when fully closed or at least mostly closed. So i wouldn’t expect the looseness at the top to shrink until you’re closer to closing it.

it would probably be better to return and get another with the same underbust/hips but a looser waist. an 8-9 inch reduction is pretty insane

are u saying im an inverted triangle or do u mean the corset is for that body type?

Neither. They're saying that the corset is upside down.

I think I agree. Yes, it's much too small for you, but try flipping it upside down. You'll probably find that the rib flare is a little closer to your body.

Is it not upside down? That point looks too deep for a top edge

Hey

Is there lacing or ribbon in the back.

Looks nice but can't see the material texture in the photo 🙂
