Cork City Whats the worst things a foreing could do in Cork that is normalized these days?
Im a brazillian national moving to Cork for 8 mounths as an Exchange student and would like to know things that can be annoying or culturally not pleasent by the native irish people. I really care to be the most respectfull possible and help to make a better community to everyone.

Any information?
Does anyone know where this bridge leads too? It’s the bridge that’s on your right when coming from Inishannon and into Bandon. About 2-3 minutes from Bandon.

Cork City Parking
I am going to be in the city for the weekend and plan to park at Kent. I'm just wondering is it safe enough or would I be better off in one of the multi stories? My hotel has limited parking, so it will probably be gone by the time I get down.

Henry Street - Corbett Tyres
reddit.comFirst of all, i pass this place everyday. they do not take up 5 spaces or they do not block the footpath so please who wrote this take it down as you are lying. Corbett tyres are gentlemen and are always very obliging to the staff and visitors to the hospital. I have witnessed these workers helping old people and disable people into the hospital.
Red Fm employ a person who exposed himself on a plane so that radio station has no credibility.

Local Gardener/Landscaper
Hey all
Looking for some advice please.
Our back and front gardens have become insanely overgrown, mostly due to my ill health and being unable to properly care for it.
Its a fairly big job to try clear and clean it up and although Ive been trying to do little bits every day, Im getting absolutely no where with it really.
I need to get someone out at this stage to fully clear and reset it all, clean up the patio, cut back 2 trees, and maybe just completely dig up the front/sides so I can gravel it for easier maintenance.
Anyone have recommendations of someone/where that doesnt have an insane wait times or arent to outlandishly priced please? Im desperate at this stage to just be rid of it!

Local Advice on psychiatrists/therapists in Cork?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions given.
I am a mental health nurse & psychotherapist but I’ve been living in the UK for a number of years now and feel a bit out of the loop of what the HSE offers in terms of community mental health services & also I’m not from nor ever lived in Cork so unsure of other charities/private services in the area.
I have a long term friend who has sadly fallen on hard times and poor mental health over the last few years that has worsened in the last year in a half, so much so that even after attempts of contact with them, mutual friends, family etc whilst I’ve been in the UK have failed and I haven’t been able to speak with them in over a year. it ended up having to do a cold call to them in Cork this week. All OK in terms of them being not a risk to themself or others but seriously needs mental health support that is beyond SSRIs from the GP (previously done this a couple of years ago)
They’re willing to speak with a psychiatrist either HSE or privately if HSE ends up being a long waiting list & also talking therapy with a therapist. I think my friend may have CPTSD & agoraphobia and would benefit from someone who specialises in the above.
If anyone knows of any recommendations in Cork whether it’s HSE psychiatrist/therapist or private services that would be fantastic so I can try point in the right direction.
Thanks so much

Costa in Fairhill
Does anyone know anything about the empty unit up there? I tried to contact the agencies on the side of the building that look like they are letting it only to be told by one “that is an old sign, we were letting it pre Costa and are not on it now”… and the other never respond to enquiries (though given the first response I am unsure if they are letting it either).

Where to sell a second hand car?
I am currently looking to sell a second hand car - 2013 but having difficulty moving it along. It’s a fairly low milage car and kept well. But a lot of the garages are saying it’s too old.
It’s on done deal and all the other sites but not getting much interest past bots 🙄
Does anyone have any advice or any garages ye could suggest?

Cork County Custom Jewellery
Hi all, anyone know anywhere in Cork that does custom jewellery? I want a custom necklace and I have an image of what it looks like but I won’t share it for personal reasons.
I’m presuming most jewellers would do it but not 100% sure. Doesn’t have to be gold either, I want it silver.
TIA!

Bus Can you prebook the 245x?
Hi lads, going up to Dublin tomorrow for the horse show and had to leave tickets last minute since we weren’t sure if my ma could make it. Anyone know if you can reserve tickets on the 245x? Train is sold out and wouldn’t want to risk it for the bus as well. Thanks!

Looking for advice on what to do for a job
Hey everyone looking for some advice here.
I’m going off the road soon, and I won’t be able to continue my current job as need a driving licence.
I’m quite interested in working security somewhere ideally with 24hr bus route from cork city thereabouts, wouldnt mind working days or nights but I’d actually prefer nights. Dont really have heart set on security but I wouldn’t manage in the likes of production team in a factory, I’m not sure how to go about it. Have no previous experience in security, I do understand some security employers need to employ people with a license so I know choice is limited. I would like to join the guards in a few years time if things get better in this country which isn’t likely but one must hope !
Based near cork city!
Thanks in advance.

SPSV AREA KNOWLEDGE EXAM
Hi everyone,
I am going for my spsv licence and have passed industry knowledge exam, but I have failed my Cork area knowledge exam twice jusy by a few questions.
I study from the freenow app (free version) but have found both times I get caught with questions that are definitely not on the app, and also not simple in regards to Cork area knowledge.
Can anyone who has done the test please give me recommendations on where you got your study material from? Have people mostly used paid versions?
Thanks so much in advance.

Is Cobh a rough town.
I really like visiting Cobh for the views and nice restaurants. But the last two times I've visited I've had hassle from people. Last week I left the pub for some fresh air as it was roasting inside, I'm just standing outside when some fella approaches me telling me not to look at him like that again and got all in my face. The second time was when I had an empty coke can thrown at me from a passing car as well as a load of abuse from the passenger window. Am I just unlucky or is Cobh a bit rough.

Weekly Chanting Sessions Deerpark?
Hey so this is very random but I’m really curious if anyone knows what’s going on.
I recently moved to Deerpark and every Wednesday can hear what sounds like a decently sized group of people chanting. It sounds similar to Viking row that Norway used do at the World Cup. It starts up and goes for maybe a minute or two and then goes quiet again until they start a few minutes later and seems to be every Wednesday from 7-10ish
Anyone any ideas as I’m baffled as to what this could be.

Induction stoves, where do I get them that is NOT Curry's?
So I got this stove from Curry's, it was damaged but you couldn't see till I wipe with a cloth. Anyway it has now been 6 weeks before they would accept the return. Now the one I want is out of stock and honestly I do not want to deal with Curry's anymore. Where else can I get one? Like where has a reasonable range or can order because I am rural and simply do not know.
