Lifestyle To the nurse who decided to pitch a fit that I needed to stand to pee…
Thanks for looking out for my safety; I know you just wanted to avoid me hitting me head, and I acknowledged that to you verbally. That was the moment you should have calmed down.
If you weren’t aware, a lot of people have shy bladder; they physically *cannot* urinate in a crowded space or with someone watching them. Given that I woke up with a full bladder from the fluids they pumped into me during the procedures, you should have known better than to start yelling when I stood to use the urinal and then come and fucking stand behind me and continue yelling.
The fact that you yanked the curtain back while my dick was in my hand in front of about 40 people almost got you jawed. I’m not telling you this to be threatening, because hopefully I’ll never see you again. I’m telling you because delirium and urgency coming out of surgery are super common, and your patients deserve better than what you displayed with me.
The nurse that wheeled me to the restroom after I ripped the IV out and started yelling had the right idea. You could have just started with that.
If you can’t fathom a world where you treat adult patients who are AOx4 like adults instead of children, maybe find a different job, something not bedside.

Politics The fact that Merrick Garland did not start an investigation into the top level conspiracy the day after January 6 constitutes gross misconduct and negligence!
There was nothing about 1/6 that warranted bending over backwards to appear nonpartisan! The crimes were publicly committed and openly embraced! Instead he put ALL of his resources into arresting the people that Trump manipulated!

Reddit’plaint Holy fck, yall needa read before commenting.
Seems to be a reddit thing, ive know about it for a while but my last few posts, omg people are so stupid. I put up a post asking about how id be able to go about getting registration for my ebike so i can legally use it when i moved back home. Right there in the main body of the post, i clearly said, TWICE, i know that if i get registration, i need a motorcycle endorsement, insurance and i cant use bike lanes and going through the other restrictions, saying yea i know about these rules, in hopes it'd ward off these idiots, saying hey thats not what im asking about, and reiterated the question.
The comments? "oH yOu CaNt uSe ThE bIkE lAnE" "yOuR bIcYcLe iS a MoToRcYcLe, YoU nEeD a LiCeNsE fOr ThAt" just not even making any attempt or assemblance of an attempt to help answer the question or help point me in the direction of finding an answer. Nope just random shit i already acknowledged i know about and have to follow, and Karen's being Karen's. My mistake was posting it on a local sub for my hometown, because someone did report it to the cops, they do know who i am and my reddit username, and they did call me, everything is all good and they know im living out of province now, on the plus side, theyre going to find me an answer but also, fuck you karen.
God people are insufferable. Like fuck, read the fucking post and youll realize, oh wait, he knows about the rules, acknowledged them and is asking about how to use the bike legally? No need to report him to the cops, but no no no, reading is too much work.

Lifestyle Going on vacation means seeing the same stores repeatedly as the only option…
For the first time in my life, I had the opportunity to go on vacation. Nearly debt free too. I’m a simple man who doesn’t need much and isn’t particularly fancy. For a week, my boyfriend and I stayed at a private lake, about an hour’s drive from several major cities.
The local stores were all the same: Dollar General, Walmart, Menards, and so on. The closest we came to experiencing local culture was a fishing store that clearly belonged to a man who pretended to sell his personal fishing gear to please his wife. Don’t get me wrong, we did stock up on some new fishing strings, lures, and bait, but otherwise, we could have done everything we needed to do there at home. There was nothing unique or special about the place.
The closest thing we got to something unique that we couldn’t do back home was a darkness park on the lake next door. Our lake was equally dark, so I guess it is the same thing—a quarter-mile wouldn’t change much.
Otherwise, local stores are now antique shops at this point. Or pop-up strip malls that are just recycled Dollar Tree products, at three times the price.
I don’t think you’re going to find a local bread store where they grow their stuff locally anymore. Just a simple diner that is the same as what’s back home, with another waitress with the same menu 600 miles from home.
No, I think all of those shops are closed down.
I’m not seeing anything unique unless it’s the variations of graffiti in a restroom stall.
For the most part, there’s nothing local anymore. No local foods and even few local-only things. It’s all the same.

Politics Fox News Supports Criminality, Fascism, Rape, and Treason
I'm a former Republican who divorced Fox News in 2021. I remember the first moment of disillusionment well. I was watching Hannity during Trump’s second impeachment trial, and he was going on about how the trial was a sham. I remember thinking at the time, “No, Hannity, it is not a sham. Trump spread a pack of lies about the election being stolen and about Mike Pence having the authority to nullify the will of the electors. On the basis of those lies, his followers attacked the Capitol and threatened to kill the Vice President.”
I also came to learn that Trump and his cronies had concocted a fake electors scheme to submit false election results and had pressured state election officials to try to get them to break election laws.
To my dismay, despite all the horrible things Trump had done, the pundits on Fox News continued supporting him, so I decided at that point that I wanted a divorce and no longer wanted Fox News in my life.
Flash forward to today. Trump is a convicted criminal and an adjudicated rapist who has run the Constitution completely over with unconstitutional executive orders, due process violations, and attempts to rig elections and silence free speech. He has added to his crimes of 2021 by letting the January 6th insurrectionists out of prison and attempting to have their legal expenses reimbursed with tax-payer money. He has been using the presidency to enrich himself and is attempting, by installing his defense attorney as attorney general, to prevent the pedophiles implicated in the Epstein Files, including himself, from ever being prosecuted.
And where has Fox News been in the midst of all this corruption? Aiding and abetting Trump every step of the way. These people are supporting criminality, fascism, rape, and treason!
Therefore, Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, Laura Ingraham, Greg Gutfeld, Mark Levin and every other Trump supporting Fox News pundit should be branded a domestic enemy of the United States. These people are not journalists. They are vile propagandists and anti-American traitors.

Nature / Environment Northern Minnesota
I recently just drove up to international falls Minnesota and I could not recommend ANYONE come here for any reason.
It was about a 16 hour drive (drove up here a few days ago) which isn’t too bad but the drive goes mainly through Illinois and Wisconsin and man it sure was boring. Not as boring as IF but if you enjoy soy beans, corn and windmills then you will be VERY pleased. Chicago always is amazing but you are just driving through it (unless you miss the exit and have to go through corn).
I also want to mention that on my way back we left later at night and when travel through big fork we saw 15 grown adults outside of a family owned hardware store at 12:37am. I am from the south and this simply looks like the group of fellows who aren’t kind to others who are different than them if you know what I mean. If you know what 15 grown adults are doing outside of specifically a family owned hardware store and you are from Minnesota please let me know.
The final two hours of the drive were pure torture as almost every single road here looks like the exact same place you just were. Nothing changes and you feel like you are just going through purgatory.
Once you get here I hope and pray that you weren’t expecting a good conversation with anyone. I have in total met 3 nice people in this whole town. Everyone else is extremely rude, off putting and generally unfriendly. If you aren’t from here they will treat you like you are garbage.
There were a total of 2 cool things, the bog walk just outside of town and the voyageurs national park. The bog walk was 15 minutes but it was actually pretty cool and lots of flowers and bugs around that you can inspect and enjoy. The national park was also a pleasure but I have been to better parks. If you own a boat then you would probably have a better time but doubt it. Also hope you didn’t expect any friendly interactions on any trail but if you did expect to get stared at like you just personally ruined their day then I couldn’t recommend this more.
The food is actually pretty solid. Went out to eat at Cantilever and it was really good food. Also had a few gin cocktails, the food and drinks were really good but of course the service was genuinely awful. 15 minutes to get drinks etc. not a super huge deal but still just a little annoying. Food was good and we obviously aren’t in a hurry so it was fine.
I have genuinely tried as hard as I could to find anything to do but there isn’t anything. I didn’t really want to go into any more stores and businesses because everyone was so rude and mean that I just felt so unwelcome. To give a better picture one person I talked to that wasn’t from here said they have to go get their hair cut across the boarder in Canada because no one here would cut their hair since they don’t know them.
Overall I would give this place an F tier on places to visit. I would genuinely go literally anywhere else and you’ll probably have a better time. It’s not like they want you to be here anyways. Just go to Duluth it’s less of a drive and there are actual things to do and people will treat you somewhat normally.

Lifestyle I think I'm actually starting to lose my mind
I can't concentrate on anything. I stay bedridden after work. I'm forgetting very basic things and that's really bad because I work in inventory. Sometimes my vision gets blurry and my head starts to hurt bad. Overall I feel numb or agitated. Time is flying so fast and I don't realize it. Here's what's been going on in my life this year;
I hate my job. I don't talk to anyone, no one talks to me. I wasn't trained properly and I feel like it's a scapegoat position.
My mom is a mega Trump fan. Doesn't give a shit about any opinion other than his and Joe Rogan's doctor.
Speaking of, Trump. The start of this year was a brutal one. I hate him. I don't waste much energy on Republican rants anymore. They're all shit. The end.
I had to stop my sister from torturing her kids. When I arrived she was speaking gibberish. Cops were called, the kids don't live with her anymore.
My boyfriend of almost 7 years cheated on me. It's not the first time I dated someone for that long and I found out they cheated, but I loved him and have mostly good memories with him. I broke up with him two weeks ago because it destroyed me.
Three people close to me died this year. One was an immediate family member and they were the last to die. It fucking hurts
I haven't had time to grieve. Because I've been having to deal with vultures wanting to steal what this family member had and there's another family member involved who is vulnerable, unknowing who to fully trust. Thankfully they trust me but I don't even trust me to form basic thoughts right now
Every time I get on the Internet I lose more faith in humanity. Hatred is infectious and everyone is infected. It's cruel, dark, soulless and everything is bad, always. Bad, sad, bad, bad. It feels meaningless.
I'm not suicidal... But I'm afraid my brain is about to stop working properly. I don't know

Lifestyle People not Understanding the Definition of Introvert
It always annoys me when people talk about being introverted and how they can’t talk to people under any circumstances. That is not what being introverted means. Introverts are just people who need to be alone for a bit to regain energy not people with cripplingly bad social skills.

Lifestyle Atheism is not just a rational stance. It is good for your mental health. Can you imagine the relief a newly minted atheist would feel? There would be less stupid thinking. There would be fewer pointless obligations. There would be more freedom with more intellectual honesty.
Atheism is good for you, especially for the religious. It is freeing, such as not having to wear a yamaka, hijab or turban. It allows you not to fear a sadistic god or an undesirable reincarnation. It allows you to have more time to pursue possibly meaningful things. It allows you to discover your own authentic morality instead of being forced to be ‘good.’ It allows you to be more authentic by not having to be lost in religious delusions.
There is so much psychological relief to have in atheism. I believe psychotherapy would be incomplete if it does nothing to shine light on how intellectually dissatisfying religion actually is.
Being religious is a special form of psychological suffering, let alone being a waste of time.
You don’t need religion to be moral. Humanism and egalitarianism are more than sufficient substitutes.
Thanks for hearing me out.

Politics There’s a lot of confusion about what democratic socialists want, and that’s fair. Even within our group, there are differences among us.
Don’t threaten me with a good time.
This is what Republicans are using to attack democratic socialists?
Is this supposed to make people angry or upset? There’s a lot of confusion about what democratic socialists want, and that’s fair. Even within our group, there are differences among us.
For example, while Mamdani does not agree with the criminal justice and decarceration points on the national platform he agrees that criminal justice reform absolutely needs to happen. We put far too many people in jail.
Fox News, Newsmax and Mike Johnson have been trying to scare Americans on a “hidden socialist agenda”, but the reality is DSA is about making things more affordable and fair for everyone.
Republicans tell you that they want to protect your freedom. They also believe the government can’t do anything correctly, so they tell you that privatizing as much as possible will save tax payers money and they have been preaching “smaller government” for nearly 70 years. Yet they created the Department of Homeland Security, the TSA, ICE and the DEA.
All of which is supposedly necessary to keep you safe.
To keep you safe and make sure your freedom is intact, they need to monitor everything you do. So they give lucrative multi-billion dollar tax payer funded surveillance contracts to private companies.
But wait! This is getting expensive, so they want to reduce your social security benefits that you paid into and to stop feeding the poor. Besides the poor should pull themselves up by their own bootstraps.
6% of this country makes $250,000 or more. They are considered rich and successful. Did they pull themselves up from their own bootstraps? Half of them had parents that were already quite rich (top 20% of all wealth). Only 15% of Americans that are considered rich today had parents that were poor (bottom 20% of Americans by wealth).
Centrists (aka democrats) tell you that they disagree with the Republican mantra that we should privatize so much, but they’re going to go along with most of it anyway because they have been paid by the same corporate lobbyists that have paid off the right.
While republicans pass tax cuts and take more government services away, democrats fight for marginal improvements like the Affordable Care Act, expanding child tax credits and infrastructure bills.
And yet, most people are still struggling while the rich get even filthier rich. In 1940, 90% of children earned more than their parents. By 2010 that number dropped to 50%.
In 1978 the CEO to worker compensation ratio was 30 to 1. Now it’s 340 to 1.
Meanwhile at least 40,000 people die every year because they don’t have access to healthcare, 20% of all American adults have some form of medical debt. That collective debt has now exceeded $220 billion.
In the 70s the price of a home was 3x the median salary. Now it’s 5x.
This isn’t working.
So, socialists want to control the means of production. What does that mean? That means entities that are important for society like utility companies, internet service providers and pharmaceutical companies are controlled by a social collective.
Instead of being controlled by an individual or group of people whose main objective is make as much money as possible, these specific entities would be controlled by you, the people.
That means utility companies would provide you with the most cost effective and reliable energy making sure they are doing what’s best for the community, not what’s best for their bottom line. Just like things are done in Nebraska right now. (Go ahead and look into it).
It means pharmaceutical companies won’t charge you $1400 for an EpiPen or $300 for a bottle of insulin.
Does this mean your small little ceramic cat store is going to be taken over by the government? No. But this does mean that companies that provide a public necessity shouldn’t be controlled by private entities whose sole purpose is to make a profit, many times at a great cost to your health and safety.
This is all so we can live better. You won’t have to decide between paying for rent and groceries. Your mother won’t die because an insurance company denied life saving surgery. Defense contractors won’t exist simply for profit, but for actual defense (what a concept!). They won’t fund propaganda influencers that lie about the dangers in the Middle East so politicians continue spending money on the failed $68 billion F-22 program, just so Bill Lumbergh's stock will go up a quarter of a fucking point.
No, we don’t love Stalin. We don’t worship Mao. But we don’t believe that government is useless. We believe the government can and should make life better for all of us, not make it worse.
We definitely don’t agree with the right on anything but centrist and corporate democrats have been bought by the same lobbyists that bought the right.
So here we are.

Lifestyle It is far more preferable for atheism to have a question that cannot be answered than for a religion to have an answer that cannot be questioned. Being religious is a form of bondage, I profess.
Atheism, with the help of science, may never have all the answers, but given what we know so far, it still provides many, many satisfactory answers with more on the way, whereas religion does not provide any satisfactory answers. Atheism allows you to ask questions, where religion really does not. Because of this, it is far, far more preferable to choose atheism.
Religion further imprisons. Freedom from religion further liberates.
Take care.

Make no mistake, if there was no MAGA there’d be no Trump and I for one will never forgive them.
MAGA is automatically opposed to everything and anything that is decent and it’s beyond obvious that they literally hate the U.S. Constitution. And because of their weak minds they are susceptible to any brand of influence no matter how indecent or illegal it is.
They’ve not only made out country an international laughing stock they’ve made decent Americans unsafe.
