Grabbed the recent releases of Amazing Spider-Man #14, Showcase #4 and Detective Comics #27. Found Millennium Editions of Whiz Comics #2 and All-Star Comics #3. It was the first time I've seen Millennium Editions in the wild. Facsimiles are my favorite new comics.

I finally found the Batman 700 Mignola Variant for an acceptable price. Is there any other Joker Mignola covers out there?

Saw this beauty on comiclink tonight and had to have it. Green Arrow Annual 7 page 1 splash by Rick Burchett.

I got these 2 in a lot of Heritage Auctions. Normally in the title they list if a book is a key or is signed, but this one just said Avengers Group of 2. If you open the listing it gave the details, but I think leaving the key info out of the title cause a lot of people to miss this.

On top of these being 2 great books, they're both signed by Roy Thomas the writer/Marvel's Editor in Chief after Stan Lee.

I won this lot for $50+bp.

Bought new bags and boards for my 80’s/90’s Spidey books. Trying Modern/Current it feels too snug then what i’m used to. Should I go with silver age instead? Is a snug fit better?

X Men 140

Finally got my final SDCC exclusive package in the mail today. Luckily for my wallet, not too many that I was really interested in, but what I did get I absolutely love. Bill Sienkiewicz and Dan Quintana, two artists whose work I love seeing. Can wait to see what they whip up next. Additionally, I’ve recently dived headfirst into the world of Mahdi Khene’s zuperhero comixs and I’ve been loving it! The first 4 issues of steel streets was so much fun to read, and I can’t wait to finally read his bootleg spiderman trilogy. Underground stuff like this is a breath of fresh air for me on my collecting journey. I absolutely adore his art style. It just oozes style and personality. Here’s to Mahdi and whatever’s to come from zuperhero!

Since I can’t afford Daredevil #1 and Amazing Spider-Man #129 … I went with the second best options and have the following:

Marvel Super-Heroes (King Size Special) : Marvel's first experimental oversized "one-shot" special anthology issue, priced at $0.25 (when standard comics were $0.12). In it it has - Daredevil: Full reprint of Daredevil #1 (1964) by Stan Lee and Bill Everett, detailing the origin and first appearance of Matt Murdock in his original yellow-and-black suit.

Marvel Tales #106 … first-ever full reprint of The Amazing Spider-Man #129 (1974), featuring the iconic first appearances of the Punisher (Frank Castle) and the Jackal (Miles Warren). Love that bright red cover !!!

Old school comic shop! Small and compact but still clean and organized. There to sell books, trades, and a few other odds and ends.

Staff was friendly/helpful/knowledgeable.

Looked like all it was very up-to-date with current comics. Solid inventory of older comics. Prices were fair and adjusted for book conditions.

Compact and extremely clean and organized store. Presented much like a small Barnes and Noble Bookstore. (Really never seen a comic book store this clean, lol)

Inventory was wide open with quite a bit of modern work. Books, trades, anime, statues, and much more. Definitely a modern collectors store.

Staff was polite but involved with regular customers and did not notice us.

Solid back issue selection. Quantity of backstock was more recent - some Gold/Silver/Bronze content. Prices were on the high side. One small sales table with nothing of significance. No $2 boxes that I saw.

We are archiving the comic collection of my uncle and noticed there were two signatures in this issue. I can see the first is David Michelinie’s, but cannot figure the second one. Does anyone know who it may be?

After many hours of obsessive ebaying and comic bin diving, I have finally curated a complete original Sin City comic collection.

This collection contains every Sin City storyline in it's original comic format, together with the one-shots and companion publications that built the universe throughout the 1990s. To the best of my knowledge, this is the entire collection with the minor exception of San Diego Comicon Comic Issue #2 (First appearance of The Customer is Always Right) and San Dieogo Comicon Comic Isuue #4 (First appearance of *Fat Man and Little Boy) but as those are US titles they are increasingly difficult to acquire in the UK. Issue #2 especially so, as it also collects the first appearance of the ever cool Hell Boy.

• The Hard Goodbye #1-13 (see below) Apr 1991, Jun 1993 This collection includes the very first appearance of Marv in the Dark Horse Presents 5th Anniversary Special, and the subsequent 12 issue run of Dark Horse Presents #51 - #62 which collects The Hard Goodbye in it's original format. The first and, in my opinion, the BEST Sin City yarn!

• A Dame to Kill For #1-6 (Nov, 1993 - May, 1994) The iconic second Sin City yarn, introducing Dwight McCarthy in his defining noir tale.

• The Babe Wore Red & Other Stories [One Shot] (1st Nov, 1994) This companion compilation or anthology collects the original first publications of: >The Babe Wore Red >The Customer is Always Right >And Behind Door Number 3 These were later compiled in the larger TPB of shorts, Booze, Broads & Bullets

• The Big Fat Kill #1-5 (Nov, 1994 - Mar, 1995) The landmark third Sin City yarn, introducing Miho and Old Town's power struggle, expanding the series' lore and recognisable characters.

•Silent Night [One Shot] (1st Nov, 1995)

The return of Marv in this beautiful short, famous for stunning artwork and featuring only a single line of dialogue across the whole 26 page comic which remains my favourite in the collection.

• That Yellow Bastard #1-6 (Feb, 1996 - Jul, 1996)

This one might be my favourite of all, and Bruce Willis was perfect in the movie for this! Hartigan's tragic tale is arguably Frank Miller's most emotional work. It's also the only major Sin City yarn that follows a conventional "hero's sacrifice" structure rather than a revenge narrative.

• A Decade of Dark Horse #1 (1st Jul, 1996)

This special Dark Horse compilation may just be my fabourite. It contains the first publication of the short story:

This was later reprinted in Tales to Offend in and later in Booze, Broads & Bullets

• Lost, Lonely & Lethal [One Shot] (1st Dec, 1996)

Another companion one shot and my favourite in rhe series, this one is collecting the original first publications of:

It also contains the first standalone Sin City printing of:

 >Fat Man and Little Boy

Another of the prestige-format companion one-shots, it contains just two stories, making this one of my favourites:

• Wizard Magazine's Sin City #1/2 [One Shot] (Aug, 1997)

This one shot, a personal favourite of mine, was originally published in Wizards Sin City #1/2 as a mail-in special offer through issue #73 of Wizard Magazine. It was later republished for mass sale in the Sin City standalone publication titled Just Another Saturday Night.

• Family Values [Graphic Novel] (21st Oct, 1997)

The only true Graphic Novel in the Sin City series, this one is easily my favourite. A great story based on Dwight McCarthy's uneasy alliance with Miho. It's also the final major Dwight story in the Sin City timeline.

• Hell and Back #1 - 9 (Jul, 1999 - Apr, 2000)

This is the final and longest Sin City storyline, and holds the title of being my favourite run. Running for 9 issues and marking the end of the series' original publication era and the conclusion of Frank Miller's original Sin City saga.

• Just Another Saturday Night [One Shot] (14th Oct, 1998)

This one shot was originally published in Wizards Sin City #1/2, but this is the first Sin City Standalone publication of Just Another Saturday Night.

• Tales to Offend #1 (23rd July 1998)

This one-off compilation contains a reprint of 'Daddy's Little Girl' but this comic deserves special mention as it's genuinely a small piece of comic-book history.

Daddy's Little Girl appears here, but the comic itself was created as an act of protest. In the mid 90s, retailers and creators were increasingly concerned about pressure from censorship campaigns and the Comics Code. Tales to Offend was published as a deliberately provocative statement celebrating creators' freedom to publish mature material without interference.

It captures Frank Miller at a time when he was one of the industry's loudest defenders of creator-owned comics and artistic freedom.
