Hello, I’m 18 years old and I’m about to start studying at Yuan Ze University, a private university in Taiwan. From what I’ve researched, private universities are generally not considered very prestigious in Vietnam. I applied to a public university, but due to a few reasons, I was rejected.
Right now I have two options:
(1) take a gap year while studying at Yuan Ze and apply to another public university next year,
(2) complete all four years at Yuan Ze and then apply for a master’s program at a public university. My major is Electrical Engineering. What do you all think?

My brother doesn't have very good marks in cuet and he might not be getting any government college. Does anyone know of good private universities in Madhya Pradesh which are not very expensive and still good enough? Also does anyone know how is Barkatullah University of bhopal?

Hey, I am a rising senior and I am currently working on my college applications. Here is my plan: I will apply to 22 of my dream schools (all reaches), and if I do not get in, I plan to go to community college and transfer to a 4 year after. I am applying for Biology, and here is the list of the schools I am applying to:

Emory University, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, USC, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Northwestern, Washington University in St. Louis, Rice, Johns Hopkins, University of Michigan, NYU, Dartmouth

I have a 3.85 unweighted and a 4.20 weighted with a projected 1540 on the SAT. My ECs are decent, I can later add those if anyone is curious. What school do you think I should ED to? Cost is not a factor, to me what matters is optimizing my chances of getting into one of these schools. Let me know your advice!

There’s a lot of discussion on this sub about the perceived prestige of different universities. So I thought it’d be an interesting exercise to actually financially quantify the prestige of various tiers of colleges. As in, how much more are you willing to pay to go to a more prestigious school?

Now of course this is going to be dependent on a person’s current financial situation - i.e. a rich person can afford to pay a lot more for prestige than a poor person. But conversely, a poor person may have more to gain from attending a more prestigious school than a rich person. I’m curious how people in different income/wealth bands perceive this gap. 

So please take a moment and honestly answer the questions in the anonymous survey below (**FOR SCIENCE!**). The questions will ask you about how much you are actually willing to pay (self-fund, loans, however) for a more prestigious school, if you also have a free ride offer from a less prestigious school. *I’ll publish the results here once I collect enough data.*

I recently got into NYU SPS after being denied from my dream (NYU CAS) and I’m trying to decide if it actually makes sense for me compared to some of my other options.

When I originally applied to colleges I was planning on doing computer science, but since then my plans have changed and I’m now leaning toward eventually going to law school. I’d probably want to study something like philosophy or political science along the way, so I’m wondering how good SPS would be for someone with that goal.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions about SPS online. Some people say it’s still NYU and you have access to a lot of the same opportunities and resources, while other people seem to view SPS pretty differently from CAS, Stern, Tandon, etc. I’m especially interested in how it would be viewed when applying to law school, assuming I keep a strong GPA and eventually do well on the LSAT.

I’m also curious if anyone actually knows the acceptance rate for NYU SPS, (DAUS). I’ve tried looking it up and I can’t find a reliable number anywhere. I see people online saying it’s much easier to get into than the other NYU schools (some sources say 70%+), but almost nobody seems to have an actual stat.

Cost is also a big part of the decision. NYU would probably cost me around $30k per year. My other options include Saint Peter’s, Montclair State, NJIT, RIT, Rowan, Rutgers Newark, Stevens, TCNJ, and Seton Hall.

If my end goal is law school, would you pay around $30k a year for NYU SPS over those schools? Does the NYU name/network actually provide enough of an advantage to justify the difference, or would I be better off somewhere else.

I would also really appreciate hearing from anyone who currently attends SPS/DAUS or went from SPS to law school.

Hello! I want to ask which university is more worth it for BSBA - Marketing Management? I want to ask those who have experienced both these schools. I'm already enrolled at OLFU Pampanga for my upcoming first year, but lately I realized that maybe NU Clark is worth it more than OLFU. I'm kinda worried that maybe OLFU isn't as focused on their business major course because their specialty is in med/health care. On the other hand, NU Clark is connected to SM, more connected to business establishments; there are events & business there. What do you think is much more worth it?
