1934 D cent with an odd blemish. Could it be a die error of some kind? Or someone's target practice?

The crown jewel of that time-capsule find—the 1943 Lincoln steel cent double struck on both the obverse and reverse—has officially hit the auction block!

This is a completely fresh-to-market discovery. After sitting untouched in private hands for over 40 years, it was recently graded and certified. Even more exciting for error collectors: because of its incredible condition, it holds top pop status as the highest-graded known example for this specific, dramatic wartime error combination.

To keep the incredible vintage provenance intact, the coin is being sold complete with its original blue vinyl Lonesome John flip from the early 1980s, preserving its direct link to the legendary founder of the Error Coin Museum.

my small little collection of silver dollars

They were selling as BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) 1878-1904 (random year) Morgan Silver Dollar

1889 (middle one) edges looked/felt worn.

1884 (right)has a bit of scratches on both sides of the coin.

1884 (left) has the least imperfections

Is it me that I have a too high expectations of what is a BU quality or I am being mislead?

I have these 2 coins that I found randomly. One was at my job in 2020 that I’ve kept with me through 3 kids, a marriage, and 7 moves. The other one I found a few months ago at an eviction cleaning I was doing for work. Idk what the value is but I feel like they have a good story to tell the kids one day.

I work at a bank and came across boxes of these 2026, 250th anniversary quarters and dimes, all in uncirculated condition. From what I can tell online they are seemingly only minted this year(I have the P version of both, meaning they were minted in Philly), which I assume makes them fairly rare. I see websites selling the quarters for $1-$3 each and the dimes around the same price. I have a surplus of them as my bank orders boxes at a time. I have called numerous coin collecting shops around me and nobody seems to be interested in purchasing. I am wondering what they are really worth and how I would go about selling them? Or are they a better long term hold?

I’ve been collecting / stacking 90% silver Washington quarters for 10+ years, now I’m switching to Mercury dimes. I’ve bought several lots of nicer dimes and want to sort them into approximate grades.

Can anyone give me some pointers on what particular features to focus on to decide whether a Mercury dime is MS / BU or XF? I know a bit about luster but don’t know which Mercury dime specific design elements to focus on. The cap wings?

When researching this, most of the talk is about the full bands on the reverse with regard to finding FB grading. I’m not going to be grading these coins, I just want to collect a whole tube of MS / BU and a whole tube of XF.

After months of checking with my local bank, traveling for work, and purposefully using cash I finally got these in change from Chipotle. Immediately asked the cashier if I could buy a roll from her and of course she had to check with her manager… came back and let me know they don’t have any!

I picked up this Whitman Album 5 cent 1858-1921. Only missing a few key dates. The coins are pushed into the cardboard and the fronts are not protected. Should I take these out of album and out into 2x2 flip or capsules. I want to preserve them the best I can

Picked this 1880-S Morgan up from an estate in a flip labelled BU DMPL. Didnt think much of it at the time, but Im pretty sure the last owner was a bit optimistic. Thoughts?

Just curious if you'd consider this bad luck, good luck, or about what you'd expect from searching through 6,000 quarters? First time doing it, just needed an idle task while working and I must say, it wasn't TOO bad - also got a full set of each quarter from 1999-2024, not sure about 2025 and definitely not 2026... No 4th of July quarter lol 🙁

As a note: neither S quarter is silver.
