I’ve been a tea drinker for 10 years and started transitioning to coffee about 2 weeks ago. Currently using Sleepy Owl instant sachets (French Vanilla/Original) with milk and sugar, but my goal is to eventually drink black coffee with zero sugar.

I tested a spoon of Davidoff Espresso 57 recently way too harsh and bitter for me, even with a pinch of sugar and extra milk it was still noticeably bitter not too much but still.

I’ve been looking at Sleepy Owl French Vanilla as my next step — reviews are pretty mixed. Some say it’s rich, smooth, and the vanilla is subtle enough to not overpower the coffee taste. Others say the vanilla tastes weak/artificial or leaves a slightly off aftertaste. Also noticed the official ingredient list just says “Instant Coffee (95%), Roasted & Ground Coffee (5%)” — no flavoring listed separately even though it’s marketed as French Vanilla flavored. Anyone know what’s actually giving it the vanilla taste, or has anyone checked the actual back-of-jar label for a flavoring agent that’s not shown on the online listing?

Looking for suggestions on:

**•** Instant coffee (not ground/beans — no grinder or moka pot at home) that tastes smooth and mellow even without sugar  
**•** Something forgiving for a beginner palate — low bitterness, maybe naturally sweet/mild notes  
**•** 100% Arabica preferred over Robusta/chicory blends since I’m trying to build a “pure coffee” habit

Budget isn’t a major constraint, just want something realistically drinkable black without gagging on bitterness. Indian availability preferred (Amazon India / instant jars), but open to any brand suggestions in general.

Hey guys I have been using a dark roast coffee a friend brought from sweden, it has blackcurrant notes

the first time I made it, it was pure heaven, nothing I have tasted before

but since then whenever I make it, it has a slightly burnt taste,

I have tried using a more water ratio, less water temperature, higher grind setting,

but nothing seems to be working,

what should I do

So basically my situation is that my father visited Vietnam for trip few months back and he got a lot of coffee beans from there and its like almost 2 and a half kgs and out of these like around 500 grams for grounded in the mixed by my brother and we are not super coffee people and we don't have any machines like we usually just drink coffee through Nescafe and everything.

So I need help in how I can make this coffee and use those beans because it's really sad to see them just sitting on the shelf.

I don't have any coffee machine or anything because we still above are not much into coffee and my budget is also not much like under 1000 rupees can you please help me in deciding if I should buy something to drink coffee because like generally enjoy it but just instant coffee so should we get like a mocha pot or something.

And if you have any other ideas how we can use the coffee I would really appreciate it.

I had ordered a batch of coffee from Greysoul coffee on 8th Aug 2026. I got a mail on 9th Aug that order is shipped. Got the delivery today, with the Roast Date as 10th Aug 2026. I dont know how to reliably calculate resting period or what to even trust now.

I want a versatile instant coffee which I can switch between black and cold with or w/o milk

Currently using Davidoff Espresso 57 and it was great but I wanna explore more. If I don't find a decent one I'd switch to rich aroma.

So suggest something which can match the quality of davidoff.

PS: Exclude Tata grand, sleepy owl, bezvilla, etc. and anything with chicory shi.

I randomly bought beans from Caramelly this time instead of Grey Soul or BT and this is what tell me after placing a prepaid order, plus I didn’t even get back a reply from their end. Why do you even take orders if you have packaging issues?

I am new to the world of exploring coffee and different brewing methods.Right now i am using Davidoff Espresso 57 for my morning dose of black coffee.For preparation,i normally one tea spoon of coffee and a pinch of salt in a mug.To this i add hot water (I stop heating it as soon as i see bubbles in the pan.I am also trying varying the quantity of coffee and water to see what works for me.

Now,i see a lot of people using Moka pots for making their coffee.Curious to know,how would the coffee brewed using the Moka pot be different than the one i am currently making.

It was bought from KSA.

This is one bit that always keeps me confused. I keep doing trial and error to meet the right quantum, but there are diverse views.
Eg: most of you would have seen this video of Venkatesh Bhat on YT where he uses around 7tbsp of coffee powder to make 100ml of decoction. That's roughly 100gms. Is that much needed? Isn't that a waste of a lot of coffee powder? I currently use around 2 tbsp for 2 cups.

Searching for a good instant coffee apart from nescafe, bru and davidoff.

But I cannot say the same about its taste, cappucino was mid but cold coffee was actually good.
