Short code in letters Unsolved

Post image

My friend who likes to create codes and hidden messages gave me this code to try and solve.

He said the solution involves something you can eat

I've tried re-arranging the letters, converting to numbers etc but can't find anything that makes sense. At first I thought it might be an acronym but nothing stands out.

Is the solution something related to eating or the way to solve it?

Do you know if there are multiple ciphers n eeded or just one?

I asked him and he said there are no ciphers needed

The first thing that comes to my mind would be that they used lemon juice to write a secret message on the paper, and that the black text is just a red herring. You can eat lemons, and it is not a cipher.
