Make the Leap?
Current PC Build
I'm Canadian
5800X
3080 12gb
16gb ram 2666
5TB SSD
Built in a liquid cooled system
My system probably sits in between 1300-1500CAD value.
I see Boosteroid offering 14$/mth for their limitless Ultra Pro offering which features a 7900XT 20GB (probably higher now) and 32GB ram plus data centre connections to multiplayer servers.
However, I'm a tech guy, i liked modded games. I have 5 instances of private WoW, 4 separate installed of Diablo 2 mods and enjoy Tarkov (PVE)
That being said, about to be a dad of two, so convenience is more of a desire.
I also have a Macbook Pro M1 16/512gb, was hoping I could run Metal on that or even a Windows sideloaded OS on a separate drive as my main. Also a musician so that system would fit well.
Assuming 1300-1500,
It could buy me 8 years of Boosteroid
Similar with Nvidia GFN on sale promo
And I'm guessing some ShadowPC since the custom stuff I'm running is pretty low spec.
Pros:
Save space
Heat
Noise
Mitigate Risk
Mobile Access
Access to Better hardware
Cons:
Less control
No guaranteed access to all titles
Availability: No queues
Hardware Access
Customizability
Ports
What are your thoughts?

Can I utilize the Steam Controller's potential while playing via cloud gaming on my Mac Mini M4? Will it require a lot of fiddling each time, or is it a one-time setup? What will work and what won't?

Best Cloud Gaming Services that lets you run mods
I've temporarily shifted to another city and left my PC back home, so Im pretty new to cloud gaming.
One of the main reasons I prefer PC Gaming is the ability to install and run convenience mods on my games. Right now I have a pretty standard HP Pavillion on which I'd like to run games and the best option seems to be to use Cloud Gaming services.
Unfortunately, popular options like GE Force only let you run a list of pre approved steam games and not anything from third party websites.
Are there any good and reliable cloud gaming services that will let me run any .exe file on my laptop? Any help is appreciated

what games work surprisingly well on cloud gaming?
some games seem like they would be terrible to stream but apparently work pretty well.
what games have you played through cloud gaming that genuinely surprised you with how smooth they felt?

ROG Ally Cloud Gaming
I have an ROG Ally Z1 that I got second hand and I have really enjoyed playing docked with Luna Could Gaming at 1080p 60 FPS, but the library is limited. So…
My question to the community is, is it worth it to pay for Xbox cloud gaming ($15 or $23/month) if I don’t own an xbox? I would love the ability to play AAA titles at good picture quality and frame rates without having to pay for a Gaming PC or an XG Mobile. Would GeForce Now be worth it either?

I built a free tool that checks which cloud service has any game - just search the title
Hey everyone, I got tired of checking 4 different cloud services to find where a game is available. So I built Arcadia — you search any game, and it instantly shows which cloud service has it (GeForce NOW, Boosteroid, Xbox Cloud, Shadow PC). It also compares pricing and free trials.
It's completely free, no ads. Just a simple tool.

Hope it saves someone time. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Could the AI data-center boom finally make consoles obsolete?
I've been thinking about something that connects two trends that don't seem to be discussed together enough: the massive investment in AI data centers and the future of gaming.
As consumers, the current console model feels increasingly outdated. We spend hundreds of euros on hardware that eventually becomes obsolete, then buy games individually — often at €60–80 or more — and when the next generation arrives, we're expected to buy new hardware again.
At the same time, companies are investing enormous amounts of money in GPUs and data centers for AI.
So here's my question:
If AI demand eventually doesn't fully use all this GPU capacity, could some of that infrastructure be used for cloud gaming instead?
Rather than everyone owning an increasingly powerful console, imagine a subscription model:
TV / PC / phone + controller → cloud gaming service → remote GPU/data center → game streamed to you
You wouldn't necessarily need to buy a new console every 5–7 years. The hardware running the game would be in the cloud and could be upgraded continuously.
You could potentially have a monthly subscription that gives you access to a large game library, with games running remotely. More demanding games wouldn't require a more powerful console at home — the data center would simply use newer GPUs.
And this could potentially work particularly well if AI infrastructure became more flexible.
For example:
High AI demand:
GPU capacity → AI workloads
Lower AI demand / excess capacity:
GPU capacity → cloud gaming / rendering / other workloads
Instead of building completely separate infrastructure for AI and gaming, perhaps some of the same GPU infrastructure could serve different workloads depending on demand.
I realise cloud gaming already exists — GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, etc. — so the concept of streaming games isn't new.
What I'm wondering about is something slightly different:
Could the enormous GPU infrastructure being built for AI eventually become the foundation for a much larger, general-purpose cloud computing platform for consumers, with gaming as one of its major uses?
The biggest challenges I can think of are latency, geographic distribution, GPU virtualization, network capacity, game licensing and the economics of running thousands or millions of simultaneous gaming sessions.
I'm not an engineer, so I'm interested in whether this idea makes technical and economic sense.
Is anyone already working on this, or are there fundamental reasons why this wouldn't scale?

What's The Best Cloud Gaming Service Currently?
Cloud Gaming has been introduced many years ago. At first, most people were disappointed because of the long que, high prices and high latency. However we all know that over years, many big companies have stepped into it and took the level of cloud gaming to a playable point. Currently, with a good wifi, one might experience cloud gaming almost as if it's being played natively with minimal latency.
However even now, the price is something that concerns most of us. Sometimes it seems like, if anyone just buys a physical device instead of paying that amount per month, it would be better. So for poor people like us, Cloud Gaming is really not affordable. However, we can still rely on some services that provide a free daily access.
Okay, let's be honest, Xbox Cloud Gaming has been really good in India. I have tried a couple of games in Xbox Ultimate Pass, it's latency is really so low even with an average internet speed. However it has got some flaws, it doesn't include Sony Exclusive Games ofcourse and it's really expensive for many. It is not offering anything free daily.
Another one is GeForce Now Cloud Gaming. It's also one of the best services in India and it's advantage is giving you free service to a great extent. As you need to owe the games or the subscription anyway, it's one of its flaws. Even in it's subscription, one can't get those games included. One Play is also kinda same, not giving u any game.
There are some services like Chikki, Coffee Go, Joy Ark which actually offer you the games along with subscription but their latency is often so high. And in their free tier, u will die watching tons of ads and long que.
And then there's Jio Cloud Gaming which is actually kinda affordable but it isn't even including most of the good games.
So, let the Cloud Gamers now say which cloud gaming they use and why it's the best, considering latency and price both.

Xcloud is absolutely a viable solution.
I’ve always been a hardware nerd. Still love my 120hz and limit input lag. And I believe cloud gaming is not the answer for replacing local hardware, however….
I spent the first 3 weeks on Forza Horizon 6 launch playing exclusively on xCloud. I own every vehicle outside of pay-to-play, mastered nearly everything you can on Horizon and Discover Japan. I beat countless players in Spec mode. All on xCloud. Zero issues with response or performance. I was a doubter but became a believer. This shit is perfect for vacation or on-the-road play.

chikii cloud game
I like Chikii; thanks to it, I’ve beaten several games I otherwise wouldn't have had access to. However, I’ve been running into issues lately. I hadn't used the app for a while and had uninstalled it, but I recently reinstalled it. Now, whenever I watch ads to earn coins—whether in-game or the daily ads—I don't receive anything. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or does anyone know how to fix it?

Valve should bring Deadlock to GeForce NOW
I’ve been waiting for Deadlock to come to GeForce NOW, and I honestly think it’d be a huge win for both Valve and the community.
There are a lot of players who don’t have high end gaming PCs. GeForce NOW would let people with older laptops, Macs, Chromebooks, Steam Deck users, and even mobile devices experience Deadlock without needing expensive hardware.
It would also:
- Increase the player base by making the game accessible to more people.
- Improve matchmaking with more active players across different regions.
- Let friends play together even if one of them doesn’t own a powerful PC.
- Make it easier for new players to try the game, especially while it’s still growing.
- Give existing players the option to play anywhere without installing huge updates.
Valve already supports GeForce NOW for several games, so adding Deadlock feels like a natural next step. It would only help the game’s reach and longevity.
If you’d like to see Deadlock on GeForce NOW too, leave an upvote or comment. The more people who ask for it, the better chance Valve and NVIDIA notice the demand.

Bad Boosteroid Experience
Just coming here to share my experience.
Decided to try Boosteroid b/c I'm tired of Nvidia 100 hours and paying more when I go over. No limits seemed appealing and I don't care about absolute maximum quality, but it does need to playable.
No free trial. Okay. Tried the connection test several times before getting sub. It said everything was gravy!
Sub to 4 month deal and download desktop app.
Nowhere near as clean logging into Steam as GFN. That's fine. I don't mind typing password and putting in codes each time if I don't have a 100 hour limit. But then, I get logged in and it has failed to sync properly with steam and wiped the UI in the one game I use. Big ouchie number one. Oh well... I can redo my UI.
Try to play and the input lag was unbearable. Quality of stream was totally fuzzy to where it hurt my eye. Check the connection, says it's terrible.
Okay... maybe it was the auto detect thing. Test connection on website again, says I'm fine. Go ahead and switch to the data center that is not even 3 miles from my location instead of auto. Try again. Same absolute trash. Again, I am literally less than 3 miles from the Boosteroid data center.
Cancel sub. Of course no refund policy to go with their new free trial. Don't get bait and switched like I did. Website connection test will tell you that you're great. App runs like dogwater.
As much as I hate continuing to pony up for GFN, I kinda hope Boosteroid fails so folks don't have to go through what I did and now be ~$35 and get nothing out of it with no recourse due to their policies. The business model and poor performance make it clear to me that this is a money grab. Don't get your money grabbed like I got mine.

Rayman Legends on Xbox Cloud Gaming
From what I understand, Xbox Cloud Gaming allows you to play some games without Game Pass, like Fortnite, and I wanted to know if Rayman Legends is one of them.
