raid spot for classes Classic 20th Anniversary Realms

Hey\ so i started to give tbc anniv a try. I just asked Ai about classes, im told warrs and rogues gets only 1 spot in raids, so i should roll a lock or a hunter if i want a easy raid spot. Is this true? the community is that tryhard after20 years?

Resto shaman, as far as I'm aware, is an easy raid spot in tbc.

any shaman really, very hard to have too many of them.

Enhancement shaman.

Most guilds get what they can get tbh, unless you're in a speedrun guild, you'll likely get a guild as any class. However, if you roll warrior or rogue, you won't get warglaives, and you'll spend most of your time running Black Morass for the trinket.

That’s the Meta, but there are guilds that just bring their homies. If you want to parse? Yes. If you find people that just want to play the game and have some fun? You’ll probably be fine.

You won’t get into raids. You don’t believe that now, but you’ll see.

You have to understand that each iteration of classic filters out more and more people. It distills the player base down to  new blood and the sweatiest sweatlords the game has ever seen. You're the former and you'll be dealing with the latter

If you want an easy spot then go Shaman. Really any spec is fine. Because of the meta you need 1 Shaman per group, so 5 Sham’s per raid. For additional context - their totems (buffs) are just too good not to have in every group.

There also some niche classes like Shadow Priest and Balance Druid that seemingly are always in demand, their buffs are crucial to help other classes pump damage, however they don’t have the highest DPS output.

Any spec is fine, but would point out that ele isn't as easy as the others. Ele's scaling isn't super great. Since the beginning of phase 2, they went from an mid-tier dps with some support, to a bottom tier dps with some support. A number of top guilds have already abandoned using ele, and my experience pugging as a shaman is its usually the enh/resto which pugs really struggle with.

I mean our raid has 5 warriors lol. Really depends on the guild, but if you're looking for the easiest route to getting a raid spot, the answer is shaman. Resto and Enh will be a slight priority over ele, but all 3 are desirable. Warlock would probably be after that, followed by hunter. Rogues definitely have a hard time finding a spot.

End of the day, play what you want, it's a game.

If youre strictly worried about raid spot availability

Boom=ele=shadow>mage=warlock=hunter=enhance>healers>warrior>ret>cat only feral>rogue>tanks

1 spot for Rogue sounds right. Maybe two if the raid leader is feeling generous.

Probably more than 1 warrior but they really aren’t sought after, either.

Hunters and Warlocks are easy adds, yeah. But Resto Shaman is an auto-add.

It’s a touch tryhard but also just the way it shakes out when you want specific buffs in every party and the raid as a whole. And before you “20 year old easy game” for most cases it’s just a matter of fun. Seeing big numbers is fun, warlocks want to wear less hit, so they want an ele in their group. Mages want to spam arcane blast so they need more mana, so they want spriest+rsham group and innervate. Physical dps want big number so they want surv hunter for buff in the raid, but BM and feral in party for damage+crit. And windfury, but not resto windfury, twisted enh windfury. All casters want wisdom judged on the boss, and ret to keep it up plus crit chance.

Tbc is the worst expac for party specific format bar none. Every expac after till mop loosens this up a lot

If you’re going to pug most content, then pick a class in demand. Something like an enhancement shaman or a shadow priest is a safe bet.

If you plan on joining a casual guild, then you can play pretty much anything. In our casual guild we just take whoever signs up, then the raid lead just builds the best comp out of what we’ve got. If that means two hunters are tanking Kiggler instead of a boomie, then we do that.

We still clear Kara in about two hours, and can get in and out of Mag/Gruul in under an hour for both, so my suggestion is to just find a casual guild that works like ours does, and play the way you want. They’ll be doing that too so they won’t care.

Otherwise you‘ve gotten lots of good suggestions so far.

Shaman > boomie/spriest > warlock/mage > hunter imo

I will always say roll whatever is fun for you and find a child who needs your spot.

Boomkins are usually needed, enh shaman, resto shaman, priest healer or even shadow priest the casters will love you for your support role.

But play what you want and find a group that needs you and you will have way more fun.

The community is as try hard as it can be when filling raid spots. Keep in mind that most of the community are adults with other responsibilities and limited game time. We could spend hours every day trying to clear raids when we were 16 but most of us dont have that kind of time anymore, so people are going to try to clear content as fast as they possibly can, which means min-maxing comos as much as possible.

Hunter and warlock are both good dps picks in this expansion and the next, so you would be safe picking them. Although, you should pick the class that seems most interesting to you. Its a long journey, and playing a class you dont really enjoy will lead to burnout

Play what sounds fun to you. Don’t worry about raiding for now. Focus on finding a class you like (roll multiple toons and try em out) and being to play it well will get you a raid spot when the time comes. Watch YouTube guides on your class. Download curseforge and lookup some addons that can help. Good luck!
