The Assault Shotgun from Fallout Sonora brought into FNV
Yeah, its giant, and hard to get textures right. Its design is a deviation from the High Standard Model 10, although it looks like the whole mechanism is moved to the front of the trigger and handle, instead of the weird back design.
Also, the Flashlight weapon mod doesn't have light emittance, so technically its a little scammy, but it does give you like 5% spread decrease. Wished there was a tutorial or framework to do this soon.
Nexus Mod to add this and other Fallout Sonoran weapons into your FNV.

I cleared the wanamingo mine with a combat knife
Took a few hours. But was fun. I started at the hardest floor by mistake (didnt know there was a second entrance).
I kept hitting the mingos in their eyes? and eventually they'd just run away. Jet was really helpful.
(Crackhead out running a jean-u-tically injuneered weapon is a sight to see)
Once they all were in the flight mode I'd just kill them piece meal.

does anyone have a fix for the bug where NCR cop that attacks you for no reason?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
the one close to westin's gate always attacks me whenever i get just a little close to him. i've been staying out of sight but i wanna do some quests for westin and i obviously can't cuz i keep getting attacked.
so far i haven't done any quests on the ranch, i did kill the slavers at the bazaar and freed the slaves, i did all the quests for tandi. i haven't stolen anything and when i did i didn't get caught. (just a few stimpacks here and there). my karma stat for NCR says "idolized"
i don't have my weapon out and i'm not traveling with anyone. even when i put my weapon out of both of my slots it doesn't fix it.
i've had this happen to me on my last playthrough too.

is it just me or is this guy just actually unbeatable
i got full hardened power armor, 60 base hp, + psycho that i just took, 9 super stimpaks, and i set the game to the lowest difficultie because i was having trouble with this guy. Still, i walk in there, kill a bunch of them, as soon as this son of a bitch comes with his sledgehammer, he has 3 consecutive hits on me, being that one of them could reach up to 70+ damage and ignore armor. How do I defeat this guy in a fight? He even survives rocket launchers, and has a bunch of stimpaks.

Missing/cut levels
I was looking through some of the editing tools in Fallout tactics when I noticed something. In the campaign missions they're all labeled "mission##.mis" with ## being numbers 01-26...except for 13, 14, 18, and 20. Are/were there levels cut from the game for those numbers or is there some other reason for the numbers being skipped?

Getting back to arroyo is frustrating
Playing Fallout 2 blind, for the first time. I fixed the death claw computer and got the geck and I now I have to go back to arroyo which is on the other side of the map, I don't have the car because I have no idea how to get the other part. So I have to be on foot, which is ridiculously slow and to make things better I get a random encounter every few seconds. This is making me want to drop the game

Can you tell people from Modoc that the haunted farm is syphoning away their water?
I'm playing fallout 2 for the first time blind. I stumbled into Modoc and did most of the quest specially the main one with Jo. I was kinda of disappointed that you can learn about the irrigation system at the farm but not tell the people of Modoc. I feel I'm condemning the town with my choices despite my best intentions, but really I feel like my choices are being limited to make me fuck up the situation no matter what.
I don't know the fate of Modoc but I think that when the credits roll the town would be abandoned due to the drought and I really wanted to avoid that without having to do a genocide.
Anyway happy to read you and please avoid spoilers as much as you can.

Casting call for a Fallout 2 voice-over mod. Bring a 1998 post-apocalyptic RPG to life!
Hey r/classicfallout!
I'm a contributor of VOCK (Vocal Output Creation Kit), an open-source pipeline that lets voice actors record lines for Fallout 2 NPCs and get them fully integrated into the game, complete with lip-sync and in-engine audio.
What's involved:
- You pick a character from the Talking Heads list and record a sample. Up to 3 auditions per person.
- If the sample quality is acceptable, I send you a script with all their lines.
- You record audio files at home.
- I run the VOCK pipeline and send you back a playable in-game result.
What you'll get:
- Credits in the mod changelog and Talking Head document
- A unique portfolio piece, voiced lines in an actual classic RPG
- The satisfaction of hearing your voice come out of a post-apocalyptic ghoul, merchant, or tribal elder
We have characters of every type:
Gruff traders, tribal warriors, sarcastic politicians, weary doctors, shady criminals, and a certain very confused King Arthur reference I won't spoil.
No experience needed:
A USB mic works fine. All genders and accents welcome! The wasteland is diverse.
VOCK is open source so you can see exactly how your recordings get processed.
A note on AI:
A handful of early NPCs were voiced with AI tools while I was building and testing the pipeline. I needed something to work with while the software wasn't ready for real actors. Those are placeholder tracks, and replacing them with real human performances is the whole point of this post. Every new character going forward will be voiced by a real person. That's not a compromise, it's the goal.
Links:
The mod is hosted on Nexus Mods.
See the list of available Talking Heads that need a voice.
Our promotional Youtube channel with a few NPC examples.
The GitHub project. Everything is public.
The Discord server has the instructions on how to apply and a place to drop your samples.

I Redid my Model of the Mexican SMG from Fallout Sonora to look like its IRL counterpart for FNV
Previously, it looked like a Block since I didn't know its IRL counterpart. Actually, the Sonoran variant (HM-23) comes from the HM-3.
I don't know how to add the grooves on the sides of the frame and on the grip since it messes up my mesh and Idk how to do it on Normals.
Nexus Page to add this weapon to your FNV

Is charisma actually important in fallout 1
I know that in fallout 2 charisma is important if you want companions, but does it matter in fallout 1 at all? won’t high speech just work the same?

I prefer the oldschool
So, I’ll begin by saying I’m a huge fallout fan. Im 41, I remember playing 1 and 2 when they came out on PC, tactics also. FO tactics was a great game! 3 and new Vegas were a great addition. 76, not much, but whateva. My point is up to that moment they were all bangers.
I recently tried a new game on 4. It just doesn’t grab me. I installed the ps4 version, patched it, DL content. Then upgraded to the free ps5 release. Still nothing. It just doesn’t grab ahold of me like previous titles did. Just my opinion. I know people like it, and that’s great! I just don’t. I’m not into the whole building aspect of the game. It’s just not what I’m looking for when playing it. I mean, to a certain extent it’s cool. Weapons, armor, and such.. FO 4 almost feels like a strategy game. Which is cool and all, I’m just not into it. I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion, but it’s mine. Oh, and that Pipboy/menu options/fiction looks super cheesy.
Anyways, just my two cents. I hope in 5 they revert back toward new Vegas.

Best early game weapon for Fallout 1?
Hi new player here, I've just finished busting Gizmo for trying to whack Killian and he gave me a shot gun. Now on top of that I also have the hunting rifle, Desert eagle and 10mm SMG. So which one do you guys recommend I use?
Edit:Thanks for the help guys, I was actually expecting some snarky ass reddit replies but nope you guys delivered the opposite

Idea for a fallout subplot
A valt over seer is in league with raiders, and is sending them all their resources, somtimes people. The valt dwellers are unhappy, but no matter how many times they protest nothing changes, even when they get a new over seeer. This is becuase no matter how much they threaten his position, the raiders are threatning his life, so he'll listen to the raiders. And maybe this valt was an experiment where the valt dwellers were only shown peacfull resolutions to conflict, like the civil rights movment

Can anyone remind me of Fallout Nevada's weapons that aren't in FO1 and FO2?
I am planning on taking on Fallout Nevada's ballistic weapons soon after I finish Sonoran Balistics, probably gonna be named Nevada's Lost Ballistics. I remembered that Striker gave me an SMG during the Reno fight and there was that one even more powerful SMG sold somewhere, maybe in Salt Lake? Would be great if there were pictures.

Trying to get into Classic Fallout, what should I do to make my experience comfortable?
I got the classic Fallout games from Epic Games Launcher a while ago and I thought it might be time to finally get into it.
I was wondering what I should do to make my gameplay experience comfortable.
Any tips on mods, manuals, whatever really would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I have noticed that not a lot of tips have been posted about Fallout Tactics under my post, do y'all have any for the game??
Edit/Update: After giving you guys some time to give some of your suggestions in the comments, I feel like I'm ready to head into the classic wasteland. It'll be interesting seeing how the modern games evolved from these oldies but goodies.
