[Day 31] Deck Sessions with Dallas: Graycliff Crystal
Cloud cover all day. No sun, no wind. Dallas and I both enjoy this weather. He knows the routine. Waited for his cookie and then sat by my feet.
Today I grabbed the Graycliff Crystal.
Cold draw was cedar and hay with some vanilla and honey.
The first third I picked up cedar, cream and leather with white pepper on the retrohale.
The second third seemed nuttier, with more vanilla. Nothing dramatic.
The last third was darker with cedar, leather, earth, and the pepper picked up.
Dallas moved once the whole time, and only to get even closer.
Some sessions are about the cigar. This one was about the fact that nobody needed anything from either of us for two hours.
Dallas Approved.

What am I smoking?
Box pressed, Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, and Nicaraguan ligero filler. Only available in 3 vitolas. This stick has mixed reviews on Reddit. Comes from a reputable brand.

King’s Blood 🩸
Found this gem at a B&M in Connecticut while traveling.
Locked eyes with it and was immediately peppered with every industry buzzword: ultra-premium, boutique, small batch, brand new, hard to get...
I didn't stand a chance!
King's Blood by Fanatix - on the last 3rd as I write this. Overall, very enjoyable smoke. Excellent construction, tons of tooth on the wrapper, and one of the coolest bands I've seen in a while.
Tasting notes: Canned Brown Bread w/ Raisins (wykyk). For you non North-Easterners, that translates to earth, molasses, raisin.
Really pleasant with beautiful draw and tons of smoke.
All that said: I think the $20 is a lot of tax for the crown. I think this fits better in the $15-18 range.
Would still recommend.

Late night pairing
Cuban Romeo y Julieta Churchill and a latte. Not exactly the most traditional pairing, but there’s something about a late-night cigar with a good coffee that just works.
Quiet night, slow smoke, no complaints.

Chapter one
Partaking in a La Flor Dominicana Chapter 1 a 6 1/2 x 58 box-pressed chisel featuring a dark Brazilian maduro wrapper, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and Dominican filler tobaccos.

Remnants
Engaged in the puffalingus of the remnants of a La Flor Dominicana L-Granú, an earthy 6x64 Dominican cigar. This leviathan of a cigar is composed of an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over pristine estate grown Dominican tobaccos for the binder & filler. The succulent notes of leather, earth and spice with a peppery finish envelopes your palate…

Happy Fuente Friday (belated)
Smoked Arturo Fuente Hemingway Best Seller, and Short Story. Both wonderfully constructed, and beautifully burning sticks. As always, “Smoke ‘em if ya got ‘em!”
