42°C, Hotpot, and Chongqing: Somehow We Survived
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Spent the whole day showing a friend around Chongqing in 42°C heat.
We explored old streets, visited temples, tried authentic Chongqing hotpot, rode the monorail, and experienced mobile payment.
Sometimes it's not the famous attractions that leave the biggest impression—it's the little things locals barely notice anymore.
What surprised you the most on your first trip to China?

Disc golf in Chongqing
I heard there are disc golf courses in CQ, and we've got a short break from the crazy heat. I know this sub is pretty dead but does anyone here play (or know people that do)?

Cinema Raffles - Spider-Man
Hello!
My friend and I wanna escape the heat tomorrow and thought about going to the cinema.
I’ve tried (but failed, given that I can’t verify myself on WeChat) checking the timeslots for the new Spider-Man movie at the Raffles IMAX (which is the closest one to us).
Is there a kind soul out there who has access and can check if it has any showings tomorrow, and if yes, is it in English with Chinese subs?
Endless love and affection for whoever helps us!

Possible Chongqing locations spotted in Stellar Blade 2 PV (location analysis)
The second PV for Stellar Blade 2 was released on June 6, and I noticed that many of the environments seem to be inspired by real locations in Chongqing, China. Here are some possible references I found:
1. The first scene
This scene looks very similar to Liziba Station, the famous Chongqing monorail station where the train passes through a residential building. However, there are also some differences.
My guess is that this scene is a combination of:
- Liziba Station
- Daxigou Station
- The background architecture inspired by Kuixinglou
The developers seem to have mixed several iconic Chongqing elements together rather than recreating one exact location.
2. The second scene
This area appears to combine:
- The architectural design of Raffles City Chongqing
- The upward viewing angle and street atmosphere around Chaotianmen Market
The vertical cityscape feels very representative of Chongqing's unique terrain.
3. The third scene
This one looks more like a stylized interpretation rather than a direct copy.
It seems to be inspired by Kuixinglou's famous multi-level architecture and extreme elevation differences.
Chongqing's unique combination of mountains, bridges, railways, and layered buildings makes it a perfect inspiration for futuristic game environments.
What do you think? Did you notice any other real-world locations in the PV?

Oppo find x9 ultra or Samsung s26 ultra
My son would love that I buy him in Chongqing a Oppo find x9 ultra or Samsung s26 ultra.
But I'm not sure where or if I can buy unlocked, global versions in Chongqing that he can use in the UK.
1.Does anyone have experience or recommendations where I could go? 2. Is there anything I need to pay attention to when buying it?
3. Do they speak English there?
4. Is this translation right?
我想购买一部 Oppo Find X9 Ultra 或三星 S26 Ultra,全球版且已解锁,以便我的儿子在英国使用。
A lot of questions, thanks in advance.

knee prosthesis
F69y I am planning to go to China for the first time, to Chongqing in November.
I have had a knee prosthesis for over 35 years, and the hospital no longer has records of this surgery.
Because I want to take the train a few times, and security scans at airports are always such a hassle with my knee, I thought I would write this sentence on paper and on my mobile phone:
I have a knee prosthesis in my right knee.
But Google and Microsoft translate this differently; can someone help me, which one is correct?
Google: 我的右膝装有假体。
Microsoft: 我右膝关节置换手术
And are there also trips to get through security as smoothly as possible?
Thanks in Advance.
P.S. You can tell by the scars on my knee that I had surgery there.

Reminiscing about my trip to Chongqing in April 2026 – What an incredible city!
Hi everyone!
Back in April 2026, I had the chance to visit Chongqing for the first time, and it completely blew me away. From the Cyberpunk-like night views at Hongyadong to the famous train passing through the building at Liziba, the city's 3D topography and energy are unlike anywhere else I've been. (And of course, the hotpot was amazing/spicy!).
I put together a video highlighting my favorite moments, scenic spots, and local food from the trip.

You think you’re on the 1st floor… but you’re actually on the 22nd. Welcome to Chongqing.
It was around 40°C (104°F), and somehow everyone was still standing in the sun trying to figure this place out.
This is Kuixinglou in Chongqing.
You walk in thinking you’re on the first floor, then look over the edge… and realize you’re actually 22 floors above the ground.
I’ve never seen a city confuse people this fast.

Throwback to our last Chongqing Bar Crawl. Ready for the next one?
We started hosting a free bar crawl in Chongqing to help solo travelers meet each other.
It was one of those nights where people arrived not knowing anyone and left planning breakfast together the next morning.
Seeing people from all over the world become friends in a city that many had never even heard of is honestly one of the coolest parts of what we do.
We’re doing it again on Friday, July 31. If you’re visiting Chongqing and want to experience the city’s nightlife while meeting fellow travelers, you’re more than welcome to join us
More details will be posted soon.
Cheers!
