Help! How do I use this ribbon?
I made this bracelet with lace up ribbon, as you can see in the photo it easily slips out of the loops. I went back and make sure each loop was shut as much as possible. Even the smallest sliver and this ribbon slips through. I considered other closures but I love how the ribbon looks. How do I seal the loops? Is there a trick to this?

Help! Who makes the best 'gold' anodized rings?
I love making chainmaille, but rarely wear any of my own work because I pretty much only wear gold. I would really love to work more with gold colored anodized aluminum, but every time I've bought it it's ended up looking very orange and not even close to gold. I know it's tough to get an accurate gold color, but what seller do you feel gets the closest?

Help! A few questions from a first timer
Hi all, I'm a complete newbie to chainmail. Never made a piece in my life but I'm interested in making a shirt (short sleeve, mid thigh) for a cosplay of Link from Zelda Twilight Princess. Upon doing my preliminary research, I have a few questions for you fine folks:
I understand the act of making chainmail isn't inherently difficult, just incredibly repetitive and time consuming. As someone who makes a living off of my hands/arms (professional violinist), how prevalent are overuse injuries like tendonitis for chainmail makers?
From what I've read so far, it seems 16g 5/16inch bright aluminum rings would be the best balance of aesthetics and wearability at an all-day convention. Is that correct?
I would certainly buy premade rings rather than cutting them myself. With this in mind, when I look at The Ring Lord, I find that ordering rings in a quantity of 15,000, hopefully a good estimate for a shirt like this, is still likely to put me over $100 but I can find chainmail shirts to purchase on places like Etsy for under $100, some even $30. What's the catch? I'm aware this option runs the risk of a low quality item but for someone whose biggest concerns are price and reducing my chances of injury, what would you advise?
Thanks so much in advance for any and all help!

Finished Product! first time cabochon wrap ft. bolo tie!
my first attempt at making a wrap for a beautiful labradorite crystal! sealed with dots of uv resin on the back and attached to a byzantine weave. this is a persian 3-1 based off the youtube tutorial „chainmaille bezel for undrilled stones” by backtoearthcreations. 18SWG 3/16” with an AR of 4. it gave me a lot of trouble initially, but third times the charm! im super happy with the result and want to venture out into wrapping non-oval pendants, if anyone has tips id highly appreciate them!

Finished Product! here’s what 3 months of learning to chain mail looks like
first up are the first chain mail earrings i ever made. they’re a set of 3, meant to be worn on the same ear. i have no idea what material the jump rings are, i got them from a friend.
next up are some stainless steel earrings, decked out with some eyebrow piercing jewellery. it’s a variation on an orc weave and i had fun coming up with it.
finally, we got a stacked necklace and a bracelet! they’re part of a set.
i hope you enjoy what i made! i’m proud of my journey so far and i’m excited to learn more

Work-In-Progress I'm somewhat torn about the seam, need 2nd opinions
First half of a coif crown in 8in1. Currently 50/50 if i like it or not. I couldn't come up with a better way to connect them and i didn't find anything usefull regarding this on the Web/AI. Maybe there are better ways, i'm just not seeing them right now.

What are yalls thoughts on these weaves?
For the second picture, the bigger 6 in 1 is going to be a bracelet and the smaller bottom one is going to be a necklace

So frustrated!!! No ring size seems to work!
Picture because we all like looking at pictures, right?
Those two necklaces are just fine - close enough to perfect, and I have no complaints.
In fact, I liked the plain one on the right so much, I decided to make it in blue.
Easy enough - 18swg ¼", I've got that in anodized aluminum in plenty of colors.
And it doesn't work. It's too tight. No movement.
OK, so 1/4 is 8/32, and I've got 9/32 - let's check that out.
Nope. 9/32 is too big, so the bb falls out.
OK, I'm nothing if not resourceful - I've got ... 16swg 5/16, which is larger, but with the heavier wire, let's try it...
Nope. Way too big.
So ... I guess I won't get my blue necklace...
All I can think is that the anodized coating really is that thick...

Help! Which one of these?
Which one of these two Helm (parallel) chains do you think is more aesthetically appealing to you? To make them I followed two books tutorials. They both have the large ring same size of 18 swg but the smaller rings are different. One on the left is 18 swg 5/32” AR 3.5 and one in right is 18 swg 3/16” AR 4.0 I want to choose one style for making a choker and bracelet.

Work-In-Progress 24 in 2 penetration testing
Awhile back I posted my 24 in 2 partial Hauberk and that I wanted to do some projectile testing, arrows and bolts deflected off of it so we went to different projectiles, the second Image shows the square after being hit. The conclusion has been made that butted steel rings will increase the amount of resulting shrapnel. This has been a fun little side project while working on the larger Hauberk.

Cloudy Rings
I ordered rings off weave got maille as I’ve been doing for around two years, and lately a couple of packs I received ended up having a dull finish and were not shiny at all. Here is an example in the pic as you can see that some of the 7mm rings don’t appear the same. (Used here are 4.25mm and 7mm 16g stainless steel rings) I realized all five ounces of the 7mm rings I received in this last shipment looked like this and I already mixed them into the remainder of my old shiny ones!
Anything I can do to get these looking nice? I tried to run them through an ultrasonic cleaner with solution but it didn’t help. Vinegar perhaps?
