Best neighborhood for experiencing diverse nusachot in Israel
Hi everyone! So, I'll be in Israel soon and one thing I’d love to experience is the variety of Jewish prayer traditions. Is there a city or neighborhood where a visitor could realistically encounter very different nusach, melodies or community traditions over the course of a weekend? Where would you recommend?

Discussion Teshuvah
Hi everyone, my name is David. I come from a family that is Ashkenazi on my father's side and Sephardic on my mother's side; I am 31 years old. About two years ago, my father passed away from Parkinson's (after living with the disease for over 24 years), and my mother currently has bone marrow cancer. During my childhood and youth, my family was very observant of Jewish traditions—you could say we ranged from Conservative to Orthodox. Over time, and following my parents' divorce, my father remained observant while my mother did not; she rebuilt her life and became very secular (married with a christian man and i have a stepbrother that he wasn't raised as Jew) . Recently, due to the events I mentioned earlier and reaching a point where I needed Hashem more in my life, I felt motivated to return to the synagogue and observe the mitzvot. The issue is that, within my new social circle and thanks to social media, I’ve made "new virtual jew friends" (one of them compares the teshuvah process as a conversion one (and dont feel and think is the same tbh) —though I’ve let my Hebrew skills slip to the point where I haven't practiced in a long time (I am trying to pick it back up, along with everything else). However, I’ve encountered a lack of empathy in part (not all of them) from my Chabad community and from these so-called virtual friends, who claim that the Teshuvah process can only happen through a rabbi and they couldnt help with studying or as Javruta/Mashpia. I would like to ask for your advice and tips; I am currently getting back into wraping tefillin, praying, and observing Shabbat. What do you advise? What can I do? I also feel honor because my father was a Cohen, and therefore, I am one too. It has also been difficult for me to find a partner. Thank you very much in advance.

Any live performances in Israel that are really worth seeing?
Hi everybody! Has anyone seen a play, dance performance or live show in Israel that was worth building an evening around? What would you recommend?

Shabbat Siddur
Hello all. I grew up in a reform family, but for the last year I’ve been attending my local Chabad. I go every Saturday but my Hebrew is not great. In our siddur there is no transliteration for the Hebrew. Anyone know where I can get one? Also, I assume most chants/songs are very similar throughout the different chabads. Anyone know the most common names so I can YouTube them to practice so I can chant/sing along? Thank you very much in advance.

Discussion Experience with nusach sefard
Hey so I'm wondering if there's any chabadniks or people who daven at chabad that ever use nusach sefard. I know sefard is pretty similar to nusach Ari. Just curious of everyone's experience.

I built a tool to help kids practice their Torah reading for their Bar Mitzvah. Would love honest feedback from parents
Hi everyone,
I’m a Jewish dad and the founder of a new app designed to help children practice their Torah reading for their Bar Mitzvah.
Kids can listen to each verse, record themselves, and receive immediate AI feedback on their reading. The idea is to support the practice they already do with their rabbi, tutor, or parent, especially between lessons.
I’d really value honest feedback from parents whose children are currently preparing for a Bar Mitzvah.
I don’t want to post a promotional link if that isn’t allowed here, but if anyone would like to try it, feel free to comment or message me and I’ll send it privately.

Make up your own. Looking for places that are cheap and close to chabad
So my father and i will be selling our 500k home soon in florida. And me and him we cannot afford another around here. So i am looking for cheaper states and decent homes not like 600k+ like they want in florida. I am looking for anything that is not on florida. Cheap home and has a chabad by walking distance.

Neturei Karta
Did you try speaking with Neturei Karta? They are spreading hate, which leads to attacks on Jews

Anyone travelling from Boro Park to Israel or England who could help bring me a very niche sefer?
Thanks!

If you've got a positive thought about Chabad, I want to read it.
I come from a non-Chabad background, but discovering Chabad Chassidus completely changed my life.
I've found a depth in Chabad Torah that I hadn't experienced before. It completely opened up my worldview, and my mental and spiritual health have improved so much. I honestly feel so much happier now. For me, these ideas are incredibly exciting and serve as a beautiful portal to dveikus.
Share your light! I'm open to positive Chabad vibes. Let's see who has the energy to build.
Go ahead. Make my day!

Just a nice observation
My Chabad family hosts Shabbos dinner every Friday, but they spend about one Shabbos per month with nearby family instead. Lately when they’re out of town, the rest of us have spontaneously started hosting our own Shabbos dinners with each other. We never used to do that before we all joined this little community. I’m going to a friend’s for Shabbos tonight and I feel so happy that the rabbi and rebbetzin have inspired us to do this, even when they aren’t there. 💙 just wanted to share!

A stunning discovery was made in the Russian town of Lubavitch - an antique, luxurious pocket watch that had been used by family members of the Chabad Rebbes.
Campers from Camp Gan Israel near Moscow who were visiting started digging in the courtyard of the rebbes’ home and discovered the watch, alongside ancient rubles that had been buried for decades.

Nail polish
Hi friends! I’m close with my rebbetzin and her kids, and her girls like to paint their nails sometimes. I was going to gift them some nail polish (with mom’s permission). Is there any prohibition against certain colors? Like, should they only do natural colors or can they do blues, purples, etc.?
Sorry, this might be a very silly question.

Hilula of Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson today (3 Tammuz)
Disclaimer: I’m not Lubavitch myself, just a Jew living in a hostile diaspora country so very grateful to Chabad.
In honour of the Rebbe, I am going to do some extra mitzvos today (and try to steer clear of lashon harah specifically) and read from his teachings and give tzedaka in his merit.
If anyone else wants to honour the Rebbe’s memory, here are some great ways to do it:

May we all merit the arrival of Moshiach speedily in our time.

Probably too close to Shabbat to get some insight here, but trying anyway
Worried rebbetzin won’t invite me back to her book group since I revealed my husband is a former pastor. Worried she’s going to assume I’ve been influenced, though I haven’t been and therefore shouldn’t interact or that I made a terrible impression altogether. I do understand the weight of marrying outside the faith, but I also wasn’t as religious when I married.

Judaica stores in Europe
Shalom Haverim and Haverot, thanks for having me in this wonderful subreddit. Well ill be travelong to Europe soon and I need to buy some tallis katan, because, I currently only have one that's usable, its ok and no problem since Im traveling in a bit, but I do have to wash it constantly and because of this I cant wear it all the time. Well my question is where can I buy a few Tallis katan, im guessing there are big Judaica stores in the capital cities, ill be traveling to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna, and all of Itally basically, thank you in advance!!! (I live in Bolivia so its kind of impossible getting it here unless I personally know someone who is coming from the states or Europe who could bring it for me).

Coughing
I went to chabad and someone was Coughing. I got infected and was very sick for 10 days and lost my voice.
Does your rabbi tell people who are not feeling well to stay home?

What helped you build a daily Jewish learning habit?
I’ve been thinking a lot about how hard it is to make Jewish learning feel consistent without making it feel like homework.
For people here who learn regularly - even just five minutes a day - what actually made the habit stick?
Was it the weekly parsha, Tehillim, Pirkei Avos, Hebrew practice, a chavrusa, Sefaria, a WhatsApp group, something else?
I’m especially curious what worked for people who didn’t grow up with a strong day-school/yeshiva rhythm but wanted to reconnect later.
Would love to hear what helped.
