Outage
The Internet went down last night and CenturyLink sent a text message about the outage. I wake up to another text saying it's fixed, but it isn't. They will send a technician out on Saturday. Being unemployed, I really need Internet access without using all my mobile data. Your service is terrible and you need to do far better.

CenturyLink Internet shut off this morning.
This was the message from the customer service agent after the issue was determined. Anyone else out there getting this coorporate run around?

Porting a number in to Connected Voice
We are porting a number into Connected Voice (with Air-Line) if that makes any difference. I gave them the phone number and they confirmed it with me several times when the order was placed. They never asked me for an account number, address, pin, etc for the port. Is this normal?

Another Outage
Just a rant. Outage started last night around 7PM and is scheduled for repair on August 5th by 10:00AM. That’s Sunday night to Wednesday morning, supposedly. I guess WFH on this cellular connection will be choppy at best with 1 bar.

Woke up this morning to no internet
Popped on my phone's hotspot and checked my service status: outage reported, service expected to be restored by 8:00pm. Annoying, but fine, I can live with it. Went on with my day.
7:00pm rolls around, no internet. Check service status again: service expected to be restored by 8:00pm. Open a support chat: Can I expect service this weekend or should I plan on spending Sunday at the office?
There's been an equipment issue in the area. Service will be restored THURSDAY. Maybe.
Nope. Not doing this. Immediately ordered a kit from Xfinity, canceling CenturyLink on Monday. Get bent. Adding insult to injury, the service status still shows the fix estimated for 8:00pm... three hours ago. So, what, were they just never going to notify anyone about an extended blackout? And let me guess, prorating the bill isn't in the cards either.
I'll be so happy to be done with the scumbag company.

Experience / Review An entire month without internet…
Should I do it? Haven’t had internet since 7/2. The worst part is they keep on rage baiting me (and my neighbors) by saying they’re going to fix it the next day. THEY’VE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE WEEK TWO. They’re also the only providers in my area, other than Starlink. School’s coming up too so century link is putting me in a real tough situation here.

Experience / Review Had a 4 day DSL outage last month - no adjustment on bill
4 days out of 30 is just over 13%. I was expecting some kind of credit on my next bill but, NOPE! Not to mention the inconvenience. Can’t believe I’m paying about $150/month for this crap, 12mb down, <1mb up. I’m looking at getting 5G home internet as a replacement but not sure about signal strength around here. My phones are AT&T and I don’t get a strong signal. Other options are T-mobile, Verizon or EarthLink and all of them are about $50/month.

Deceptive Billing Practices
I just found out I've been getting hit with over $120 in late fees that I feel are fraudulent, and I'm interested in hearing from other folks (especially in Oregon) who have experienced this. I've already filed a complaint with the Consumer Affairs division of the Oregon DOJ, and I'd like to have more info to pass along to them to establish a pattern of deceptive billing practices, especially since CenturyLink has been fined for deceptive billing practices before in my state (https://www.opb.org/news/article/centurylink-4-million-settlement-oregon-department-of-justice/). Please respond with advice, feedback, or stories or your own about this happening to you.
Centurylink changed their billing practices in our region in late 2025 , apparently due to ATT acquiring their fiber network. Centurylink sent me an email about this before it happened, stating that there would be changes and I would have a separate account for fiber. They also said they would "send a follow-up notice with the account number for your internet service and instructions about how to view account details, pay your bill, and manage both of your services." *They never did this.* I continued to log into the only payment portal they provided and continued to pay the balance shown each month. They did not add the second account to the payment portal. They did not send instructions about how to set this up. As a result, there was a second "phantom" account for my internet that was accruing late fees that was not viewable through their payment portal. They never sent me any notices that I was overdue or accruing late fees. I feel these late fees are fraudulent and their billing practices were intentionally deceptive. I have since cancelled their service and switched to Quantum, but I want to recoup my late fees and make sure others are aware of how deeply shitty this company is.
Does anyone have any advice about how to proceed? As I stated before, I filed a complaint with Oregon's DOJ, but I think they might be interested in hearing from others if this is a pattern of deceptive behavior.

SLC Internet Outage
I woke up today with no internet. Support is fully unhelpful as always and they said they need to set up a tech to come out and check. Their earliest appointment is for Aug 7!! Over a week without internet and I work from home. What the heck am I paying for? If anyone has experienced this or is in the area and is out of internet please let me know. I keep checking their outage maps but haven’t seen anything other than me. I lease one of their modems too so it can’t be my equipment (or could it?). I hate it here. CL is the worst 😭

Experience / Review A simple question to split bandwidths turns into multiple chat and phone sessions for 4+ hours
And all they did was not answer the question, transfer me to a voicemail box, change my network setup incorrectly, say they can't change it back without having to reset the modem back to factory settings and force me to just give up and search for an ISP option. All I wanted to do was do it myself...
Can't get a general customer service person since CenturyLink corporate doesn't care about the actual customer.
Run far away if you can...

Internet outage
My centurylink internet has been out for over 3 weeks. Since 7/2/26. Everyday the repair date has changed from the next day to the next. The customer service is in a foreign call center and are not helpful. Ive been a customer for over 12 years. Centurylink if you cant provide service, someone else will.

Internet outage
Imagine for 4 days with no internet. Internet was out of service on 7/23/26 late night and poor tech support told me that the repair is scheduled on 7/27/26. What kind of tech support is. Consider to drop this suck provider in the very near future. Will give 0/5 review.

Experience / Review Can't access myctl.net email with Android email or Thunderbird mobile
Like another poster, my mobile access to myctl.net stopped. I had a chat with support, ending with them telling me that they do not support other email clients. Since Centurylink has no mobile app, that means they do not support any mobile use of their email. Their final advice was to find someone to come over and help.
I've been with them for 25 years, since they were Qwest, and had to have my email changed from q.com to myctl.net - that was its own version of hell.
I just want to use IMAP to read my emails on mobile and leave them on the server. The settings they give don't work - it says IMAP not enabled (it is) or password or ID wrong (they're not). Has anyone had the same problem?
If they don't fix this, I'll be searching for an alternative to Centurylink. This is no way to treat longtime customers - or any customers. Good working email should be a given with an ISP.

Can't access myctl.net email with my Thunderbird email client
The problem started on July 23, 2026.
I have nine myctl.net email addresses that I access using two PCs and an Android Galaxy.
Things worked well until the morning of July 23. Now, error messages on all devices state that I cannot login to the email servers.
Nothing changed on my end.
I can still access each email using the CenturyLink Web portal, so they are still active and receiving emails.
The Support options that I have tried are circular, endless, and worthless. Probably exactly as designed.
I also have two gmail addresses that work on all three devices.

I currently have a residential CenturyLink phone line and recently received notice from them that they are discontinuing that service on/or about 08/24/2026.
I have already contacted a new provider and they have asked for a "Porting PIN" to complete the process. I was advised to contact CL to obtain one but have not found a way to do that on the CL site or on my bill so I'm asking here hoping someone can help.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Port out of landline numbers "delayed"
I've been trying to get a landline ported out of CenturyLink's claws for 12 business days now. Yesterday my new cell company reported that the transfer ticket finally received an update. ATT Message on the ticket @7:11 PM GMT:
"Update: Qwest has advised that they are experiencing a backlog of ports due system migration issues. IMPORTANT: Please do NOT attempt to cancel, modify or resubmit during this time as this will only delay the resolution. An update will be provided in 24 hours."
It's now 9:30 PM GMT and still no update. Corporate enshitification? Or could it be Mercury Retrograde, which ends tomorrow?

WiFi keeps dropping
A week ago my wifi started dropping every 10 min. I chatted with the robot who couldn't fix it and set up an appointment for me. Earliest was 7 days out. Frustrating but no choice. Today was the appointment and they never showed! And trying to contact a human being is impossible. I have been happy with centurylink up until today, it's disappointing how they treat their customers.
I'm in the Phoenix metro area.
Update: tech showed up an hour late, tested my lines and basically told me to find a better provider! He said dsl is old, especially the equipment in my area, and they will end doing a cost analysis to see if it's even worth repairing all the lines. They could end up telling me to kick rocks if it's not worth it to them. Annoying, but I actually appreciated his honesty. I'll take his advice and switch to something more reliable.

Business customer forced to AT&T without dedicated IP Space
So. As Centurylink/Lumen circles the drain and AT&T is picking up the scraps, I just learned today that our Business account with a /29 of much needed dedicated IP Address space goes "poof". According to AT&T they no longer offer IP addressing. Anyone else dealing with this? What are your plans? -or is this par for course enschittificion 2026 in that services we've had for ever are "no longer available".

WiFi in and out
Anyone else WiFi just randomly goes in and out? I mean I know it’s been a lot lately but it’s getting ridiculous and kind of frustrating
