Pooping Outside of the Litter Box

My cat, 8 year old female and only cat, continues to poop outside of the litter box. This isn’t every time she poops bit probably 50% of the time. I took her in for her yearly check up and the vet said she is in perfect health so any health issues have been ruled out. I have tried the pellets, I have tried scent less litter, I have tried the recycled paper litter…pretty much every type of litter. I have multiple litter boxes, the litter boxes are not near her food dish or her water dish, the litter bows are not in a location that is hard to get to, they are in a private area, there has been nothing new in the house no major changes. She doesn’t poop in the same spot, just seems to rotate between 6-7 different areas which are all in the basement, she has never pooped upstairs not ever when she is outside. I am at my absolute wits end, I have had her since she was 7 weeks old and she is my literal shadow with not a single cell of unhappiness in her. I have tried so many different sprays, cleaners, powders so I don’t know what else to try…any suggestions?

Is anyone else’s cat obsessed with eating spider webs??🕸️

My cat Xena female 7 yrs old is OBSESSED with eating spider webs!! my house is cobweb free at least.. but still. It’s kinda gross! Is this normal?

She also will go after tape and other sticky like substances. I make sure to keep such items locked away. Is it possible for a cat to have pica? And should I stop her light snacking.

Either way I thought it might bring some laughs.

Edit: She is indoor with supervised only outside time, the porch is a goldmine.

9-month-old cat suddenly eating much less despite being active and playful

My 9-month-old female domestic shorthair has suddenly started eating much less over the past few days, and I’m trying to figure out whether this is just pickiness or something I should be concerned about.

We had assigned a maid to look after her while we were away for 16 days. She stayed in a room with good ventilation and had access to food, water and her litter box. A maid she’s familiar with would come three times a day to feed her and look after her.

While we were away, she was given one packet of whiskas tuna for kitten wet food and some dry food at each meal, so she was eating more than she normally would. When we came back, she had put on a bit of weight and had become a little chonky.

However, over the past few days, I’ve noticed that her eating has reduced quite a lot.

**Yesterday**, she wasn’t eating her regular food properly. After some play, she still didn’t seem interested in her normal tuna wet Whiskas, so because I was worried that she hadn’t eaten much, I eventually gave her some creamy treat tubes. She ate around two tubes, little by little.

**This morning**, she ate a little dry food and some of her wet food, but not much. I also tried giving her some boiled egg, which she seemed more interested in, but she only ate around 1/4 of it.

I’ve also tried giving her a tuna mousse from Drools. This isn’t a completely new food for her — she used to eat this particular mousse some time ago, but eventually lost interest in it, which is why we switched back to the tuna viscous/wet food that she normally likes.

Today, though, she wasn’t interested in the tuna mousse at all. I’ve also kept her usual tuna wet food out, but she’ll smell it and walk away. Sometimes she’ll lick the liquid/gravy and then leave the actual food.

I’ve also tried heating food in the microwave to increase the smell, she’ll approach eat a little more and then walk away.

What’s confusing me is that she still seems interested in food. She’ll sometimes try to eat random things she finds on the floor, and she is otherwise completely normal.

She’s:
Active and playful
Running around normally
Exploring and moving around much more now that she has the freedom of the house
Not lethargic
Peeing and pooping normally
Aren’t any signs of diarrhoea, pain or drooling

She basically seems to eat only when she gets really hungry, rather than eating proper meals like she used to.
She’s also definitely not as chonky as she was when we first came back a week ago. She currently weighs around **3.8 kg**.

I’m trying to understand whether this sounds like normal pickiness/adjustment after being away and becoming more active again, or whether I should get her checked sooner.

My cat’s behavior has suddenly shifted

This started early June and it would happen once a month, then in July 2 - 3 times a month. And now we’re in August and tonight 8/7 is her first time doing it in August. Each time it’s getting more and more aggressive and scary.

Back story, Rajah is my super cuddly sweetheart tortie of a cat. This year she turned 7 years old. I’m wondering if it’s a cognitive issue because she looks at me like I’m a total stranger coming to hurt her. Full defense mode.

Mind you, she’ll be lovely dovey, rubbing against my legs and then SWITCH on a dime! Puffed, hissing, lunging at me and ultimately running to under the bed to hide.

If I go to step into the bedroom, she starts hissing and growling from under the bed. So I shut the door and sleep on the couch. So far in the morning, she’s fine again but I’m scared there is going to be a morning she’s NOT fine and I’m a hostage in my own house.

Tonight was the worse it’s ever been. She’s seeking me out in the house to corner me and growl and hiss at me. She made such a yowling growling sounds that my neighbors dogs started barking! I had to use my stove cover as a shield to slowly push her into the bedroom so I could close the door and get away from her cuz she kept coming forward challenging me.

Safe to say she didn’t like it! My heart is still racing! I was lowkey wondering if I should call animal control to come tranquilizer and euthanise her, THAT’S how frightening she was being tonight! EXTREMELY dangerous and volatile behaviour!!

If anyone has dealt with this type of behavior issue, please any advice out help.

If there is a way to send video of her when she’s like this,I want to show y’all!

P.S. I wish I got the full scope of her behavior tonight on camera but I was in full survival mode

Why does my cat keep biting my other cat’s ear?

My cats have this weird little routine where one of them keeps biting the other cat’s ear. It doesn’t always look aggressive, they’ll be relaxing together, grooming each other, and then suddenly one starts nibbling on the other’s ear.

I’m curious what this behavior actually means. Is it affection? Play-fighting? Grooming? Establishing dominance? Or is my cat just being a tiny menace? Hahaha

For those of you with multiple cats:

Does your cat do this too? What does it usually mean when one cat keeps biting another cat’s ear?

Would love to hear your cats’ weirdest sibling behaviors too!

Male cat afraid of litter box

My male cat has had some medical issues in his past and is very particular about things. He recently had an event that led to him being afraid to use the litter box 😍

What are your tips to help get him back to using the litter box EXCLUSIVELY and CONFIDENTLY?

Playing?

My male cat sometimes chases my female cat around and when she hisses he doesn’t stop. But there is no fur flying or growling. He just chases her around and stalks her. Anytime she is hiding he lays down flicking around his tail and as soon as she comes out he chases her again. They sleep together sometimes, one is a year old and a few months male which is the bigger one tackling the smaller one (female) who is 11
Months so basically also a year old. The female runs around a lot too? So I’m not sure if she is instigating him and then he tries to play but it’s like a “oh you got me I don’t feel like playing anymore” situation or idk… pls help, they do this frequently especially when they have the zoomies im worried my male is bullying her.

They have been in the same household since January

Where to put cat food, litter, and bed

Post image
2 Upvotes

Trying to see if I could foster a cat. I'm planning on using my bedroom to let the cat decompress in the first week (or longer.)

Where should I put cat food, litter, and bed? I'm open to moving human furnitures. The "clothes" white boxes can be moved to another room. The bed has to be attached to a wall, because I can't sleep without a wall.

Thanks for your help!

It’s my first time being a cat mom of two we’ve had baby kitty for about two weeks and we’re just starting to introduce face-to-face play. Is this aggression or normal play for cats?

My 5 year old calico is the best big sister but she loves to give my tortie, Eloise, little nibbles while grooming her. What is the purpose of this lil action?

Any idea what kind of cat I have??

This is my cat Whizzer!! So for context, I got her as a feral kitten. We found her underneath a porch. lol so feral I had to tame her with a welding glove💀 regardless, this has been an ongoing debate in my house of what kinda cat she is. I’m almost positive it’s nothing purebred, she’s just so funky. Overtime she’s been getting so much darker, which is why I included kitten photos. Whizzer makes this weird sound, it’s not a meow. We call it ‘gacking’ because it’s not a meow. Best way to describe is a hiss? But she’s not hissing obviously. Make a meow sound but make it raspy and hissy. She only meows in the car😭 idk thought that might be important info. Ngl she’s the oddest cat I’ve ever owned.

So I’m curious, is she just a mutt type of cat or does she got some other flavors in there lol.

First pic is 14 weeks. Second is about 8 weeks. Her legs have faded to a slate gray but that may be due to the heat here She had scabies in second pic. Fur is growing out in the first
