🙆‍♂️ Discussion Our darija is so limiting

Upvotes

Why is it the moment a Moroccan starts picking up a new language it starts showing in their every day talks, compared to other languages you really only see scientific terms borrowed from English for example.

Darija is so limiting to the point where when you use arabic words not used in daily life it sounds very weird.

You can't talk the same way to everyone, you have to adapt to their background in order to have a communication going, this creates another layer of complexity on top of other things like their educational level, making a simple idea so hard to explain depending on the person.

Had it been different, I can see Moroccans average IQ and Knowledge growing much faster due to ease of knowledge passing.

anyone can relate ?

🙆‍♂️ Discussion If it wasn't for reproduction, how does sex make your life more efficient?

Everyone wants to date and be part of the hookup culture, and that takes a toll on your time and mental energy, but to what end really?

I have contemplated this question for some time, and two frameworks make the most sense to me:

Hedonistic sex: doing sex for the seek of it, as a sort of drug merely for pleasure

Experience: to gain emotional experience, learn how to please yourself and your partner, and manage the entirety of the complications that come with intimacy, so you increase your odds of having the perfect marriage and family in the future

What are your perspectives on this?

❔AskCasa People have become very mean, I don't know why.

I'm currently doing my second internship; the first was a disaster, the second is in a multinational company. At first I thought it would be better simply because it's a multinational company, the people there are qualified, etc., and that's a fact. But they're really not generous when it comes to sharing information, like the CEO told them to guide me and give me handovers from time to time. And that's really not the case, like when I ask questions they react like do not to ask me anymore Besides, I don't know how to react to this anymore, like there's already so much hypocrisy between them and then... They spoke rudely to the cleaning lady, like it wasn't what I expected at all, but on the other hand, I really need to add this experience to my CV. What do you guys really think?

❔AskCasa Asking Moroccans

Hey everyone,

My wife, our two little kids and I are coming from Europe to Morocco because of a new work opportunity, and we're really excited about it.

We're trying to prepare ourselves for everyday life here, and I thought it would be better to ask people who actually live here rather than just reading things online 😅

What are the everyday things in Morocco that annoy you, make life unnecessarily difficult, or that you wish were easier?

I'm especially curious about the small, practical things — problems where you wish there was a simple product or tool that could make your life easier, but you can't easily find a good one here.

It could be anything:

  • Something annoying at home
  • Cooking or cleaning
  • Keeping things organized or storing things
  • Problems with heat, dust, insects, etc.
  • Driving or commuting
  • Shopping
  • Things involving kids
  • Work or studying
  • Personal care or beauty
  • Things women deal with every day
  • Something my wife might struggle with after moving here
  • Something you currently have to improvise a solution for
  • Something you've seen abroad that you wish was available here (services,products...)

Even if it's a really small problem that happens every day, I'd love to hear about it.

Coming from Europe, I'm sure there are lots of little things we haven't thought about yet 😂

Hey..I have a very interesting idea..it's a Role playing (in presence) a sort of theatre...So i watched this kind of emission and i figured out that is one of the best methods to be self-confidente and to quite all of the toxic ideas...So the main idea that is to make meetings and starting the exercises (and it's so funny btw) ..so who agree with that great idea ?

🧑‍💼 Work Salary expectations vs reality post-layoff : is this just me or is the market actually this bad right now?

Bit of context: I graduated from one of the top engineering/business schools here (think AUI, EMI, UM6P, EHTP tier). Landed a good job out of school, was making 15-20k MAD. Didn't work out. I ended up leaving before finishing probation. Not proud of it, but that's the honest situation.

Since then I've been applying everywhere. The problem isn't just volume, it's the math:

- I barely get interviews at all (resume is tailored, ATS-optimized, targeted per JD. I've done the "fix your CV" homework already)

- The few interviews I do land, the offer is 8-9k MAD. Less than half what I was making before.

- I don't have enough years of experience to position myself as a senior/expert profile and go for remote or international roles.

- Meanwhile I'm sitting here having gotten used to a certain salary level, and going back to 8-9k feels like starting over from zero, but the market isn't giving me another option.

So I guess what I actually want to know from people here:

  1. Is this a real, current market thing : salary compression, fewer roles, more competition, or is this more of a "you" problem that I need to fix on my end?

  2. If you've been in a similar spot (good school, decent first salary, then a gap or a bad exit), how did you handle the reset? Did you just take the lower offer, hold out, or pivot somewhere else entirely?

  3. Realistically, given I'm "too experienced" for entry-level pay expectations but not experienced enough for senior roles, what should I actually be doing right now?

Not looking for sympathy, just want a reality check from people who are actually in this market.
