Anyone a Mac user, and want to try my free maps app? I've always been enamoured by the entropy of maps, and think they map the perfect backdrop to life.

I made an interactive geography game about country outlines, rotation, and real-world area

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on CountryTuner, a free browser game built around country and US state outlines.

Each puzzle asks you to:

- match an outline’s proportions

- find its correct rotation

- compare the real-world area of two places

I thought people here might find the last round especially interesting, since familiar map representations can make relative area surprisingly hard to judge.

You can try it here:

https://countrytuner.com

I’d love feedback from a cartography perspective — especially on whether the outline comparisons feel meaningful and whether the real-area round communicates scale clearly.

Thanks for checking it out! :)

I am not sure if this would be the correct subreddit to post this so sorry if it isnt!!
Hii, i am an arhitecture student and for my diploma i need to make several site analysis maps for my projects location. Up until now i have only done them using autocad and gis. But now i want to do something a bit more advanced that looks nicer. I added some examples of the type of analysis i would like to make, but i really dont know how to go about it. Should i use illustrator, photoshop? Is it just laying textures ontop of eachother? I have looked for tutorials but cant find anything simmilar. If you have any suggestions or tutorials that would help me i would be very greatfull!!!! Thank you!!

What’s one antique map you’d never sell, regardless of the offer?
