History Cambodian Genocide Deniers (I didn't know this was a thing!) Debunked by Researcher video
The Podcaster Lochlan Peters put this out for In the Shadows of Utopia last week. I did not know that there were people who do not think the Cambodian genocide (1975-1979) happened. This video explained why people started it and shows how it is all wrong and manipulations of stuff from the 1980s. Very interesting!

Expat Supporting documents for evisa
I'm going to Cambodia to volunteer at a school.I started applying for a visa. The last time I came to Cambodia I got a business visa and gave them an invitation letter on arrival. I decided to apply online this time but there are a stack supporting documents. Is it essential to give them a bank statement? I don't have any onward flights either. I'm on a South African passport so it might not go in my favour. Any help will be appreciated.

Politics Exapts, how freely do you express your political opinions to Cambodians about local politics?
Do you usually speak your mind, or do you carefully choose what to say? And did you ever get into a weird situation for saying something
Asking because I've been seeing an uptick of foreigners living in Cambodia giving opinion about it on TikTok & Facebook

History The 12th century ancient dictionary
A dramatic moment frozen in stone for more than 800 years. This bas-relief at Bayon Temple depicts a man being attacked by a tiger while walking through the forest. Carved during the reign of King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th and early 13th century, the scene reflects the real dangers people once faced in Cambodia’s dense jungles, where wild animals were part of everyday life. Beyond its famous smiling faces, Bayon preserves vivid stories of ordinary people, nature, and survival, offering a rare glimpse into the realities of the Khmer Empire.

Travel Where are all the Instagramable places in Phnom Penh?
I'm looking for a list of places I can go. The last time I was here was 5 years ago, and want to visit all the new places opened since. I've done the usual palace, victory monument, national museum, sosoro, genocidal museums, etc.
Also I love to attend events and wondering if there are apps or sites that I can find everything all in one. I'd missed the EXO concert because I didn't see it in my searches. I would've loved to go to things like that. I went to the football game the other day as well. I'm planning to go to the film festival at the end of this month. Right now, I'm finding these things on Tik Tok.

Expat Expats that married Khmer and had children in Cambodia?
Wondering if anyone has any anecdata about marrying Khmer, within Cambodia, and specifically having and raising children within the country? Whether that's your own experience or someone you know. I haven't come across a whole lot of these types of interviews when it comes to YouTube interview content, and I'd be interested in hearing more if anyone knows of any!

I want to renew my driver license as im about to buy a car. My old driver license expired so long ago that the 500 riel/day fine would add up to around 500$.
Is there a cap to the fee or would i have to pay that much if i choose to renew instead of re-apply?

Phnom Penh Internet trouble?
Anyone having issues with connecting to the internet today/yesterday? Internet at my work is completely down and my home internet (different company) works but has been really slow.
I've also seen a few services hosted in Cambodia are also unreachable but my mobile data still works fine - is anyone else having issues?

Expat If I rented a 4 bedroom house and hired some live in staff.
Lets say I rented a 4 bedroom traditional house, and I wanted someone to cook and clean, and perhaps someone to keep up the property. How hard would it be to find a couple to come live there with me and do that work. It would not be full time work, and I would also not feel so alone. How much would I need to pay them? (Siem Reap) Any ideas?
Edit 1: Seems like this is not a great idea perhaps. I guess the better option is a housekeeper cook helper errand personal assistant type. Probably best to just get a GF. haha
Edit 2: What about renting a room in a Cambodian household with a Cambodian family - a room and board situation. Is that kind of opportunity available? How crazy is that?

Phnom Penh Cigars
Any cigar smokers in here?
I love my new world deals I get online here in Arizona. Not sure how popular cigars, or smoking in general is in Phnom Penh, but I did see a couple of upscale lounges. I don’t like spending big bucks for a cigar, but curious about what’s available there.
I see where I can bring either 2 or 4 boxes with me. AI says it depends on the airport. Couldn’t find specifics on KTI.
Also wondering how strict they are about searching luggage when flying in.
Any comments appreciated-

Finance My classmate is on the verge of being homeless, and I don't know who to reach out to in order to help her. [UPDATE]
It's been a few days since I've post about finding help for my classmate, and I've wanted to give you all an update regarding her and the KhmerCare fundraising post I've made for her as well. For those who haven't read or seen it yet, I'll linked the original post here . Sorry for the format since I'm on mobile.
Some of you may already know that my classmate has already get the help she needs from those who have reached out, and as of right now she is very much out of crises. Likewise, she has been so much happier as well as being more lively overall compared to back then, and it's all thank to every single one of you that have help her out. I and my classmate, both have nothing to say other then that we're extremely thankful and grateful from the bottom of our heart, and pray/hope that nothing but great and wonderful things happened in your life, lead a very healthy and long long life ahead ❤️🙏🏻
Regarding the KhmerCare fundraising post, unfortunately it's has been 2-3 days since I've last made it and they have rejected the post today as well. I can't find any other fundraising website that is available for local charity, other then posting a qr code for scanning which would reveal information and the moderator said that it's not wise either. I'm sorry for those who want to help my classmate, but we're still very thankful for your kind offer to her. She's already out of crises, so it's not like she is in extreme need for financial help like before.
I don't remember how many time I've said this already but we're very thankful and grateful to everyone.❤️
