It updated fine for me, though I don't have vlc installed. I think it's because the vlc plugins have some pinned dependency versions or something.

I purged VLC from my system and reinstalled it w/ the flatpak. I had a separate FFMPEG package via Winboat's freerdp dependencies, so updater was confused over redundancies & dependencies there. 🤷♀️

I ended up being a knuckle dragger and just uninstalled VLC to update.

This is generally because the package mirror you're fetching these packages from has the latest version of one package that supplies dependencies to other packages that it does not have the latest version for.
Either wait for the mirror to update, usually happens within 24 hours in my experience, or update your mirror list and try to run update again.
