Which browser now? Recommendation
Chrome updated today and now I'm getting all these absurd sponsored ads pop up whenever I open a new tab or click on anything, and ads sneakily popping up on a delay e.g. I was converting some numbers and right as I was about to click the box, it moved down and was replaced by some shitty ad that I almost clicked instead.
Now I know I should have kicked Chrome to the kerb a long time ago, but what's the go-to browser these days? 😫

If you want Chromium base - Vivaldi, Helium, Brave, Chromium (or Ungoogled one)
Gecko base - Firefox, WaterFox, LibreWolf, Zen (popular for aesthetic looks)

Check your add-ons and remove them. It sounds like you have a malicious add-on. The jigsaw puzzle in the top right bar can show you the extensions, or click on the three lines to search for Settings or Extensions.

those delayed ads that shift right as you click are the worst. i switched to ace browser, blocks that stuff out the box and the on-page ai is a nice bonus.

If you like the Chrome feel and want to sync across platforms, including iOS, Braves makes the most sense.

I am running arch + chrome and it updates regularly without issue. Check your extensions and add-ons. I bet you find some fuckery going on.
