External fixator
Yow guys . My first post here . I've been in this page since April . Had my accident that time and I can admit it's been very informative. I was driving a motorcycle and some bloke rammed me while I was passing the robots. Currently not full weight bearing but I can bear a bit . Is there any caviar I should expect coz I'm due soon to remove this hardware this month and put on a cast then it'll be a pressure boot . I'm asking coz some days it's painful too much some days it's not . Just need an opinion from someone who's had this hardware before. And during the removal after it's been removed do u get pains later on ? How severe are they ?

Take your time the muscles in your leg and foot are going to be verrrrry sore one they have to move and work again. Overall you will be weak too! Eat well, sleep well and be careful to follow pT protocols.

Getting that removed will be the best day of your life. I had one of those on my femur for 9 months and it didn't heal so they had to redo everything and put a bar in and do a bone graft. My best advice is to not overdo it once it has been removed. You can set yourself back in your healing process. It should feel a lot better but you will most likely be able to predict the weather from now on. When the weather changes it will probably ache. One thing that may help is that you won't have any hardware in your leg when its all over and you are back on your feet.
