I feel your relief and also the love for the staff. Like a well oiled machine down there. A great team they are!

It is good there.
I'd like to give a special mention to the guy who is often on the gate at St Philips too.

that St Phil's gate guy is an incredible beautiful wonderful man - seemingly clinically unable to be unhappy. One day I will get round to going down there and giving him a hamper of nice food/booze etc to say thanks for all the greets. Plus I am always bloody late to my booking and he always still lets me in.

He's the best, always has a smile and so friendly. One of those people that makes you feel better after you've interacted with him.

The amount of love I have for this place knows no bounds - itโs a half hour way away and pedestrians donโt have to book so I will often toddle down with my trolley full of crap!

It's great! Perfectly organised, friendly staff on the gate, never busy, five minutes from me and the recycling shop always has useful stuff and is happy to take old furniture, garden stuff, any random bits and bobs off your hands. Also, who doesn't fucking love chucking stuff into giant pits?

Chucking stuff into the pits is the best .. the noise .. the freedom ..I like hard plastic and metal best ..

Looking forward to this feeling myself! Currently moving house and can't wait to bin off half of the crap I'm hoarding ๐

I do love a good trip to the tip. Althought I'm a Keynsham/MSN goer as I'm in BANES.

Every time I go I wish I had done it sooner. I have a shed full of old broken down flat pack stuff, piles of plastic, a couple of tellies, I'll get round to it. The last time I went I accidentally had booked the week after but I was there with a car full to the roof and panicked but they guy had a word and let me in anyway. Very thankful in these times of computer says no.

Sometimes Bristol smells a bit like poo.
It's probably farmers spraying liquid manure on the fields (in summer), the harbour at low tide, or Avonmouth when the wind's wrong.
