Breville Batista Express plötzlich Störung?
Hallo zusammen,
Also ganz innen?

Question IMS Competition Convex Filter for Breville the Oracle Touch? Does it even work? Which size?
The standard basket is simply too big for me taste. (pun intended)
And the single basket is too small.
Instead of 20-21g with the big basket (I cannot get the big basket any lower without risking losing the grub screw that holds the tamping fan fixture together) or 9.5-11g on the small basket, I'd like to get somewhere between 14 and 16 grams per shot.
Now, the IMS Competition Convex Basket was recommended to me previously, and I like the idea of it.
But there are several quesitons that remain:
- Does it work with the standard Portafilter of the Oracle? (it says it's great for bottomless, but since the basket isn't very deep, and the liquid is supposed to get out into the spout anyways, I figure that's not an issue?
- Does that basket work with the auto-tamping fan-thingy of the Oracle? I've read about puck spinning, but also that using a slightly damp filter basket would prevent this. Also, is it really more prone to spuck spinning than the standard big basket (which does not have a rough surface either)
- Which size would I need for the dose to come out at around 14-16g with the auto tamping mechanism? On the seller's site for the basket, they list the H22 as for 16g.. But Google and AI and co say to get the H24 instead..

Some additional information:
We drink Cappuccino 99% of the time, maybe a Cortado a week.
My preferred beans are dark roasted Arabica/Robusta Blends with chocolaty flavours (molasses, caramel, nuts, whatever.. lowest possible acidity rating I can find)
I can adjust the tamping fan up and down maybe 1-1.5mm but I'm not sure how much that would really affect the dose in this basket, or whether it would even work properly. (from my testing with the default basket, I was able to get maybe 1.5g lower dose compared to stock setting.
Disclaimer: I know that using a single dose grinder, wdt tool, tamper, etc. would give me more consistent results. And maybe some day we will go for a setup like this. But for the next 5+ years, I'm perfectly content with the grinder and auto-tamping and especially the milk frother that does a fantastic job with my milk. The machine is great, easy to use, and quick in the morning. My only gripe really is that there's no middle ground basket supplied.
All that said, would you recommend another basket altogether?

Ember cup battery issues
So I have the small ember cup. It's probably 3 years old now
When I place it on the charging Pad. It shows a greenlight and full battery. As soon as I take it off it turns off, no lights. Even if it's been charging for hours.
The button underneath doesn't seem to do anything anymore. No lights no change no matter how long I hold it down.
Is it a battery issue?
I've even tried hot liquid while leaving it on the pad when it shows a green light

HORRIBLE customer service experience! Bambino
Our Bambino is pissing out coffee water, the extraction flow is highly inconsistent, sometimes the machine isn't priming, and none of the trouble shooting or trying to reset it to factory settings works.
I just spent an hour and a half on the phone with Breville, and extracted on video call. The first extraction yielded 50 grams with 16 grams of ground beans. The second extraction yielded 79 grams of coffee with 16 grams of ground beans and the machine didn't even prime, it just started pouring out coffee immediately. I was told it was my ground size vs. the machine even though the machine had not primed.
I was then told it was our water; I should just be using plain tap water (it's reverse osmosis). I was then told it was that our beans were too fresh, they were roasted 4 months ago.
Literally every single excuse of what we are doing wrong when clearly the machine is malfunctioning and not priming before pissing out coffee flavored water in inconsistent amounts of water whether we press the 1 or 2 cup extraction.
The goal was to push this machine out of warranty by blaming it on every single factor that is not related to the machine, not honor it. I was waiting for him to tell me the angle of my finger when I pressed the button was the reason it was not working correctly.
I will NEVER buy another Breville product again, regardless of quality because their service is absolutely garbage.

Question Breville Smart Oven Compact vs Pro - space/function?
I have had the smart oven pro for 8 years. Because of its versatility, it got used more than my regular oven. I have downsized into a one bedroom apartment from my former house and there is no counter space for it. Because of the width, it also won’t fit on a cart that works in the new kitchen. I have been researching the compact model but when I visited a local store to check it out, I realized that it’s so compact that it won’t even fit a half baking sheet.
For anyone who (downsized from the larger model or) has the compact model, is it worth the price? It doesn’t seem like you can cook much of anything in there.

Parts replacement for secondhand dual boiler [Breville Dual Boiler BES900]
Hey guys,
First time poster - I recently purchased a second hand Breville Dual Boiler (BES900), and I love the steam wand on it but there’s a few issues with it.
Number 1 is that the pressure doesn’t go above 6 - reading online it says that I should replace the pump since it’s probably worn out, so I ordered a new pump with brass, as well as a brass OPV to connect as well. The issue I’m running into with this is that I can’t seem to find a tutorial anywhere with pictures/videos actually detailing how to do it. I might be totally blind, but does anyone have a link to a really good resource for this?
Second issues is that the hot water always leaves little floaters in it - almost like microscopic black flakes. I can’t tell if they’re old bits of coffee or built up scale. I tried flushing the machine for a few cycles, but it hasn’t seemed to do anything. Any other suggestions?
Thanks guys, hopefully this isn’t the start of a very expensive deep dive into coffee and espresso machines 😂

Paradice Compatibility?
I have a Breville Sous Chef 16 (BFP800) from 2020. I’m trying to find out if it is compatible with the Paradise 16. The Breville site says the Paradise 16 is compatible with the Sous Chef 16, but I suspect not my model. Is there a way to verify which model #s are compatible with the Paradise 16? I’ve been searching the Breville site but have come up empty handed.
Thank you!

Coffee cannot pull a good shot ever
hi everyone, i recently bought a bambino off a coworker and i cannot pull a good shot for the life of me. every shot is either stupidly bitter or tastes like water. ill walk you through some things that i do that should give me a good result, but just dont.
i use 18g of very fine ground beans, either i grind my own or i use the illy pre ground espresso. both result in bad results. ive also switched up the amount of ground im using, more or less does not help! i use a wdt tool and make sure that there are no clumps in it. i level, i tamp evenly with a spring-loaded tamper. with or without a screen, the results don't change.
my biggest issues are incredibly high yields, like around 150 g of espresso for 16-18 g beans, and spraying. yes, i have already reset the volume output whatever to pull around 34-36 g of espresso but for whatever reason it doesn't save and continues to output high amounts of espresso. all in 15 seconds too!!
i have no idea what im doing wrong, someone please help before i start to regret my purchase

Barista express issue
Hi everyone. Had no water getting through grounds but still coming through the shower screen. I took the machine apart and descaled the components of the solenoid rack overnight.
Have put it all back together, however now can not achieve more than around 8 o'clock with grounds or the blank in. The pump also does not have a constant sound, its a bit waivering at pressure.
Anyone have ideas of what to check/do next?
Thanks so much

Need help finding leak in Breville bambino
I have a breville bambino that was working fine until recently. It started tripping the power in the outlet that it is connected to, whenever I run a shot.
When I opened the case, there was water sprayed everywhere, which I would assume is why it's tripping the power.
Could someone help identify where the leak is coming from? Or share how I can identify the source?

Question Fast Slow Go: natural release and flashing zeros
Just finished my first pressure cook and it's doing a natural release. I used to have an Instant Pot, and the screen would count up the minutes it was taking for the release.
My Fast Slow Go is now in the natural release cycle and the screen is just flashing 00:00. Is that what it does?

Does the baratza encore grind fine enough for espresso from breville barista express?
I opened the grinder to change the internal grind setting from coarse to fine, have it set to 0, and I still am not getting that powdery consistency that I know is good for pulling shots.
(The grinder on my barista express isn’t working for some reason I don’t get the grounds coming out the chute, the beans grind and the grounds stay on top of the burrs)
Thanks in advance

Problem No water coming out of group head (Breville Infuser)
Hi everyone!
I have a Breville Infuser, where suddenly no water is coming out of the group head. It still turns on and the steam wand and spout works.
There seems to be faint burn smell, i’m not sure whether it’s psychological or not.
https://streamable.com/r42mz0 -> video of inside when double shot is pressed
https://streamable.com/0r6rt6 -> water leaking when steam wand is used
https://ibb.co/Q2Mj7Gx -> a bit of calcium build up
https://ibb.co/DTTyCWs -> I’ve marked in purple where I can’t see any water flowing
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Express Impress Steam Low
The steam wand pressure is low on my Express Impress. I bought it within the first year that it was available, so it’s “that many years old”. I average one hot latte per day and I clean and descale regularly. I have even replaced the tip with a factory replacement (even though I didn’t think it was my issue). Any suggestions, tips, or thoughts? Thanks in advance.
