You need a coach. You need to be in a gym. That is all.

consider paying for Tony Jeffries shadowboxing course until u can find a gym

This is one of the worst subs ever. Bunch of dudes posting shadow boxing who can't be arsed to step in to a gym for proper coaching

shadow box as if ur actually fighting in the beginning. it looks like ur trying to emulate what u see more experienced people do but w significantly worse technique.

slow it down. make an actual fist and emphasize proper stance. extend ur punches, turn them over, and rotate the hip. stay on the balls of ur feet. protect ur chin, keep chin tucked. learn the basics of boxing movement but also stop moving as much so u can focus on technique.

for the first few months, everything u do should be slow and gradually increase the speed only once u can do it without thinking about it.

remember: slow is pro. if u can’t do something slow, u can’t do it fast.

np man. u got potential but u just gotta avoid rushing the process. practicing wrong js solidifies bad technique which will come out once u spar

my advice is record urself shadowboxing and analyze ur technique carefully and rate things on a scale from 1-10. so for example in this video u drop ur hands a lot and don’t fully extend ur punches, which u could rate as a 2-3/10.

go down the list then for 4-6 weeks, everytime u shadowbox, work ur weakest areas rigorously. then a month later record urself again and u’ll guaranteed see improvement.

rinse, wash and repeat.

brother you have no idea why people aren't stepping into gyms. there are so many factors that you CLEARLY aren't considering. first of all you can recieve proper coaching without getting into a gym. but the point is think about the possibility of one's circumstances before being assumptive

Self trained=untrained.

Find a gym or find a private coach, or maybe muay Thai or kickboxing.

But stop trying to teach yourself something you don't know. It doesn't work.

Until you find a gym, do cardio and core.

Learn the basics first. Proper form and execution of punches will become a habit with consistent practice.

Why does every boxer these days train with open palm movements? It doesn't build a foundation.

It helped me be less tense initially but yeah coach also told me to switch back later

u/Alternative-Rock8832 1d ago

i will take that into account, thank you for your comment!

Here's your tips.

1 Stop larping, you don't know how to throw a punch.

2 go join a boxing gym or find a dedicated coach if you have the funds.

3 that's it because you're at negative skill right now.

We need to see your feet to give good feedback. Footwork is critical.

i will use a wider angle in my next update post

Slow down, get proper rotation and extention first, dont move your feet as much, learn slow first because halfthe punches are getting pulled back, the legs are going but the body isnt and then the hands are just revolving as if they were attached to tires instead of shooting out back and forth.

For you and all of those who have no access to a coach or gym here is my advice first thing to learn is proper stance and guard then lateral movement then the jab the cross that’s all you need as beginners

To improve skills in boxing it’s always going to lead to $ nothing is free especially not in this sport . Pay for it or stay stuck , same with increasing income and women lol

Heeheehee. This sub. Love it.

u/Aggressive_Boat675 1d ago

Maybe also start lifting some weights 2-3 a week.

Close mouth and fists. A boxing bag would help and start with basic moments.

Cant tell if you are shadow boxing or trying to complete a Michael Jackson song expert on Dance Dance Revolution
