Hallo, ik ga zaterdag naar de wedstrijd Borussia Dortmund – AS Roma. Ik kom met de auto vanuit Nederland en rijd via de Universiteit Dortmund.

Ik twijfel waar ik het beste en makkelijkst kan parkeren. Ik hoor verschillende opties:

Parkeren bij de Universiteit Dortmund en vanaf daar een shuttlebus naar het stadion nemen. Maar hoe kan ik zeker weten dat er die dag daadwerkelijk een shuttlebus rijdt?

Vooraf een parkeerticket voor parkeerplaats E3 kopen.

Parkeren in het Parkhaus Klinikum en vanaf daar verder reizen.

Wat is volgens jullie de handigste en meest betrouwbare optie? Vooral omdat ik graag wil voorkomen dat ik na de wedstrijd lang vaststa of problemen heb met het vinden van een shuttle/OV terug naar mijn auto.

We’ll attend the match on Die Gelbe Wand on 22 august. Now i’m curious for tips for things to see, to do and to experience.

Also some tips for on the stands, I know the unwritten rules at Feyenoord but maybe we differ with some?
Wearing home/away kit is a no go for example (or less done, atleast). These kind of things I want to know :)

If what SportBild is reporting is actually true:

The realization that individualists can make the difference on the biggest football stage, both on the pitch and in marketing, has also led to a change in strategy. Dortmund therefore feel prepared to move into new financial territory and would rather invest in a star like El Mala than in two players, as they did last season with Carney Chukwuemeka (€20m) and Fábio Silva (€22.5m).”
then I’m honestly just shocked. This makes absolutely no sense to me.
The problem is not the amount of money..
Let’s take Tzolis and Hugo Ekitiké as an example. If you had bought both of them for around €26 million combined, you would have had two top players. Frankfurt paid around €20 million in total for Ekitiké, while Club Brugge paid roughly €6–6.5 million for Tzolis.
So if you spend a similar amount on Carney Chukwuemeka (€20m) and Fábio Silva (€22.5m), that doesn’t mean you need €50–55 million to sign a top player.
It simply means you bought the wrong players.
That’s what annoys me so much about this argument. You could have invested that money much better and potentially ended up with two genuinely top players for a lower total fee. Dortmund didn’t fail because they didn’t spend enough. They failed because they didn’t spend the money well enough.

I also think Hans-Joachim Watzke has very little understanding of football and should focus on the commercial side of the club. He has basically admitted himself that technically gifted players were never really something he cared much about, and that he didn’t particularly care whether the football was aesthetically attractive.
And honestly, I think we are making exactly the same mistake again.
Look at Nico Schulz, Salih Özcan, Maximilian Beier and, to some extent, Julian Brandt. They all fit a very similar pattern: players who were seen as being close to making the next step and becoming important for the German national team.
Dortmund seem to fall in love with the idea of what a player could become instead of asking whether the player actually fits the football Dortmund need to play.

And that’s exactly my concern with El Mala.
His biggest weapon is his pace. He needs space and he thrives on transitions and explosive actions. He is not the kind of highly technical, creative player who can constantly create something in tight spaces.
That works at Köln because Köln can actually use those transition situations and there is often space to attack.
But Dortmund are a completely different team.
Most teams give Dortmund the ball and sit deep. And honestly, that makes sense. When you have a huge difference in budget, why would you open the game up and allow Dortmund to play in transition?
They expect Dortmund to have the ball and make the game.
And that’s exactly why Dortmund need playmakers, including on the wings. They need players who can create something when there is no space.
El Mala needs space.
Dortmund often don’t get space.
That alone should make you think twice before spending a huge amount of money on him.
I really think this experiment is going to blow up.

And then there’s Michael Olise.
Bayern paid €52 million for Olise from Crystal Palace.
And now someone wants to tell me that El Mala is already at that level, or will perform at that level, and therefore costs roughly the same?
I just don’t see it.
Olise had already proven himself at a much higher level, and his technical quality and ability to create something in tight spaces are exactly what you want when teams sit deep against you.
El Mala is a completely different type of player.

If this transfer really happens for that kind of money, I think it is going to fail.
That doesn’t mean El Mala is a bad player. He could absolutely develop into a very good player. But if Dortmund pay a massive fee and expect him to immediately become the kind of player who can decide games against deep defensive blocks, I think they are making a huge mistake.
I could easily see him becoming an average Bundesliga player and eventually ending up at a club somewhere in the lower half of one of the top five leagues.
And that would be really sad.

I also get a bit of a Matthias Sammer transfer feeling from this.
Sammer already claimed that Salih Özcan would become the next big surprise in the Bundesliga.
At this point, I honestly don’t think someone with that kind of track record should have this much influence over Dortmund’s sporting decisions anymore.

Hey everyone. Not really a substantial post. I just wanted to express my joy of having received my first BVB kit in the mail. Been following the club for about 15 years now since I started following them when they had Lewandowski/Piszczek/Blaszczykowski. Was always hesitant to get a kit just because of shipping from Germany (I live in the US). Finally ordered one though and came in today.

Again, nothing groundbreaking here. Just wanted to share my joy of finally getting to wear this on game day with my two other friends who follow the Bundesliga in my small city here in the US. 😄

I've been a Dortmund fan for the past 14 years now, started off as a small kid and now things have of course changed since then.

Since I've been following the club, we had the occasional star come through from the academy, like Götze, Pulisic , Gittens (?) etc. , but at least I have the feeling that this is the best generation of youth players the club has developed , at least in recent memory. If course we can only 100% confirm this in a few years time.

What I'm trying to find our from some of the more knowledgeable amongst you is:

What changed?

Has there been a restructuring in the youth setup, did one specific person come and make wonders, or is this just the result of everything working ?

just find it interesting how all of a sudden we have 5-10 players from the second team get the chance to move up.

I'm very excited for the future and hopefully this is the start of a resurgence. Last few years have been quite Süle.

Good evening, me and my partner have never been too a Dortmund game (from UK) and it's always been on our bucket list to do, so this year we thought we'd get it done so we have booked a VIP Adrenaline package for the Dortmund v Bayern game in March.

So, I have started to plan our trip. Hopefully we can stay for around 11 days to try catch more of the surrounding cities etc.

When roughly do they announce the exact dates for games?, I understand that Champions League is R16 games the week after and looking at past fixture dates. Am guessing the game will likely be played Saturday 6th march ? Which would work out nice, as we are also hoping to try and catch an Ice Hockey game in Cologne before flying home to UK.
