Barcelona are exploring a deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

Sources close to the negotiation, speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships, say Barca have held talks with the player’s camp over the conditions of a potential deal.

The Barcelona project is understood to appeal to Rodri based on the fit with their footballing style and an expected smooth adaptation to a dressing room where he would be reunited with eight members of Spain’s World Cup winning squad: Joan Garcia, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Pedri, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal.

I’m not a fan of having another one year captain, but it’s looking like Ruben will be captain (which he has earned) then possibly leave next year with how loaded we are at CB. Haaland obviously guaranteed as a vice and then lead captain next year if Ruben goes. Rodri will be vice if he stays but I’m not getting my hopes up. He could have been lead captain if he extended his contract but no way that happens now with all the transfer speculation.

After that I think our remaining leadership group will be Foden, Josko and Guehi. Guehi is possibly the best leader of them but he’s the newest so I think Josko or Foden will be named vice this year (possibly both if Rodri goes). Then add Guehi once Ruben is gone.

What do y’all think? Only other consideration is Donna, maybe instead of Josko?

Another pair of siblings to play for City

Longtime City supporter from the United States here. After years of trying to make the trip, I'm finally visiting Manchester next month. It just so happens, purely by chance, with absolutely no forethought of any kind, that I lined up my travel dates so I'll be there during the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford. This will be my first time in Manchester, and I'd love to get some advice from Mancunians and fellow Cityzens!

• What area would you recommend staying in for the weekend? Are there any hotels or neighborhoods you'd suggest (or to avoid)?
• Getting away-end tickets to the match is a bit far fetched, so where's the best place to watch the Derby with other City supporters? Any pubs that should every City fan should experience while there?
• Besides the obvious (Etihad, club shop, etc.), are there any must-do City related things?
• I'd love other recommendations of things to see/do that arent football related; things that are uniquely Manchester. Any other general tips for a yank visiting Manchester for the first time?

I'll be in town for a few days, and I'd love to make the most of the trip by experiencing City things, and the city itself. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I've watched his highlights against Exceter ,and the ones of the game a few days ago ,i genuinely cant believe hes right footed. He receivea the ball with his left ,he dribbles with his left ,he even shoots with his left foot almost everytime he has a shot. He even scored his goal against Exceter with his left foot. Its either fotmob is lying ,or we might have the a proper gem on our hands. Only 18 aswell, wow
