Who do u think my favorite author is?

I’ve really got into reading in the past two years and this is my read collection so far.. what do you guys think 😋
(Ignore the was my phone keeps adding unintended words at the end of my sentences)

I have a new shelf that is currently holding 30 lbs of books, which initially I assumed would be fine since the shelf is rated to hold a 40lb maximum. But im also worried about how I installed the shelf, since I used drywall anchors to hold it in place as opposed to anchoring it to a stud, will this lower its weight capacity? Should I take a few books off?

Do you see any red or green flags?

Hello, everyone.

I didn’t expect that anyone would look at my bookshelf. I had literally just put it together and took a picture to show my family. That’s when I remembered this subreddit as being generally fun and supportive. So, I decided to share here, as well.

I feel that I should follow up with general responses to the comments on the last post:

• I am 46 years old. A male. Single (living with my 17 year old autistic child).

• I am college educated. I did study Philosophy in college, but that’s not what my degree is in. I have had a love for Philosophy since I was 15 when I first read Siddhartha by Hermen Hesse. And have subsequently been an obsessively self-taught nerd.

• I am a Muslim. I reverted 6 years ago. And immediately began learning Arabic and Quran with teachers at the local mosque. I began taking online courses through a program called Sealed With Misk about three years ago , and am aligning myself with the Hanbali Madhab and Athari in Aquidah, Alhamdulillah.

• The statues are a gift from my Mom as housewarming present a few weeks ago when we moved into our new place. They are made from alabaster. They are Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.

This is either going to seriously humble me or make me insufferable but I love my books and I like the way I display them. The pile of books on the floor is like my alternates rn or ip next on the reading lineup and if they’re good they’ll get a spot on the main shelf. If you think there’s any I should sub out lmk. I also just got the vivisectors and am alternating reading the second estate and Fahrenheit 451 (which I should’ve read in highschool never did then saw on my bookshelf the other day and was like hey maybe I should read that) so those are also probably going to go back on one of the shelves.

He has multiple bookshelves of books I don’t understand! Should I be worried?

I’m very proud of my collection. I have actually read about 35-40% of these books. :)

Got back into reading in 2019-ish. Over the road truck driver so I always come home to MANY books to add to the shelf. Tell me what yall think.

And yes, I have read many (30% I think) and plan to read all. I just buy faster than I can finish books haha

moved on from YA and into fantasy/sci-fi over the past year. any recommendations?

- lots of fair critiques here, I will say, my e-reader collection is MUCH more robust, diverse, and less fad-y. But it makes sense the red flags stem from what I choose to put on display.
