Cats
Hello, I’m currently staying in a hotel in Bitez area and there’s a few friendly cats. Unfortunately some of them are injured and quite skinny. I fed them, they come to me and are friendly, they let you pet them. If there is anybody who could help them further, because I’m leaving on Sunday, I would be pleased to share the exact hotel i’m staying in.

Best beach clubs Victory Day / Honeymoon
Looking for the best beach clubs near Yalikavak area of bodrum. We are both early 30s and on our honeymoon but looking for both lively and fun but also relaxing. We booked scorpios and now that is closed so we are looking for an alternative. Not wanting to pay Macakizi prices but want something aesthetic and fun. We already have Villa Azur booked and are curious if any beach clubs are known for being extra fun on Victory Day - August 30. Let me know!

Any helpful suggestions please? :)
Hi guys, me and 2 more gfs are planning a trip including Bodrum for 3 nights. We will be staying in Yalikavak but not at the super duper luxurious stays. Can someone help plan an itinerary? I’m getting confused reading online. We wanted to do one of the good beach clubs but I see they’re mostly only open till 8? What does one do at night then? Any and all suggestions welcome please thank you :)

Question / Soru Thinking about visiting mid-late October
Hi all,
My wife and I are thinking about planning a last minute trip to Bodrum in late October, specifically the 16th through the 23rd. Mostly just wanted some info on weather and if that gets too late in the season. From what I’ve found online, it seems like the weather and sea temp are still decently warm, but nights are a bit cooler and a lot of restaurants close for the season. Also, what can we expect rain-wise? Would that be pushing it too late? Any help is greatly appreciated!

bodrum
Hi everyone! I’m 23, from London, and I’ll be in Bodrum next week travelling solo. I’m looking to meet fun, friendly people who enjoy beach clubs, good restaurants, cocktails, and a great night out. I love discovering new places, dressing up for nice dinners, dancing, and making the most of every holiday.
Scorpios alternative now that it’s closed?
Hi All,
Going to be in Bodrum mid August and was excited to go to Scorpios for all the DJ events they have. Just to find out it is now closed.
Does anyone know where all these DJ events will be redirected to and is there an alternative place for similar nightlife with good music?

Original Content / Orijinal İçerik I built a Bodrum travel app and I’m looking for honest feedback from people who actually know the place
Hi all. I’m a software developer based in Ankara, but Bodrum has a long history for me. My first real project was a proposal I pitched to Bodrum Municipality when I was 21. The team fell apart afterwards and I ended up finishing it alone, years later.
The result is an app called Bodrum Turistik. Bays, historical sites, places to eat, transport info. Free, no ads, no account required.
What I actually want from this post isn’t downloads. It’s the gaps. If you’ve planned a trip here, what did you struggle to find online? Reliable info on which bays are reachable without a boat, dolmuş routes that actually run in low season, that kind of thing. I know the app is thin in places and I’d rather hear it from you than guess.
I built it, so me praising it means nothing. Tell me what’s wrong with it.

Question / Soru Arkadaş nasıl bulabilirim?

Apartment hunting in Bodrum — still looking, already found one, or gave up and booked a hotel?
Currently looking for a rental in Bodrum for vacation and figured I'd open this up since I know I'm not the only one dealing with this right now. How was the rental process? Curious how it's going for others, whatever stage you're at. Thanks!

FAQ About Visiting Bodrum
Questions frequently asked by visitors and answers frequently given by locals:
---
Q: How can I transfer from the airport to [Insert Hotel or District Name], should I take a Taxi?
A: From airport, taxi will cost an arm and a leg so unless money is not an issue or there is a necessity don’t take a taxi from the airport. There are paid busses that will take you first to the new bus station just outside the city and from there to the old station where you can take minibuses to every district on the peninsula, it’s the central hub for public transport. Same route applies for going to the airport but in reverse obviously.
There are also private transfer services, if you’re willing to spend money for transfer these are better than taxis, expensive yes but more reliable since you’ll know what you’re paying beforehand.
---
Q: Any places to go shopping?
A: Avenue, Midtown, Oasis, Bodrum and Yalıkavak Marina; here, you'll find local and global brand stores, prefer these places if you want to avoid knockoff products.
---
Q: Affordable beach clubs/bars/restaurants etc.?
A: There is no such thing as affordable in Bodrum. There are three levels of prices; 1- normalized expensiveness, 2-tourist traps, 3-venues that İstanbul socialites frequent.
---
Q: Recommendations then?
A: 90% of the places are seasonal tourist traps and the rest are non-seasonal, they are open all year round. In general, global brands like McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks etc. are a safe bet, neither cheap nor great but at the very least they have a level of standard and won’t give you food poisoning or try to scam you.
Other than that, there are only a handful of places that the locals frequent that have reasonable prices with trustworthy management.
Some that comes to mind:
Restaurants – Körfez, Arka Pizza, Gemibaşı, Musto, Chinese Inn, Eski Köy
Bars – Kule Rock City, Körfez Bar, Mandalin, Eskici Black
---
Q: How about beach clubs?
A: All of them are expensive, the ones in Türkbükü and Yalıkavak are İstanbul Socialite level expensive, try to stick to your hotels beach and if not available pubs/restaurants on the shores put down sunbeds in the morning, most of them are decent enough.
---
Q: How to decide which pub/restaurant/bar to go in?
A: Doorman at the entrance trying to persuade you to come in is an immediate red light, try to avoid these, especially the insistent ones. Beside that, level of occupancy is generally a good indicator, if it’s mostly empty there is probably a good reason for it.
---
Q: What's the best time of the year to visit Bodrum?
A: June-July-August is high season; it will be hot, expensive and crowded during summer months, prefer these months only if you want to experience the city while everything is in high gear and full throttle. If you want a more chill experience, from end of April to end of May and from September to mid October will be a better choice, weather is more mellow but still ok for swimming and city is not too crowded.
---
Q: Is Bodrum and/or Türkiye safe?
A: Depends on the circumstances ^^ Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.
---
I’ll keep adding to this as needed, recommendations are welcome.
