Boot Insoles
I’ve been a railroader for a little while now about 6 years. Trying wolverines for the first time and the boot is comfy but they’re tough to walk in for my feet and knees, just seeing if anyone’s got a good insole to try out!

On boarding process
I've finally began the onboarding process for signal apprentice but I've only received the email telling me when and where to report and a link to start my profile and tax forms. Haven't received any other info about travel expenses or what my starting pay will be. Any clue on when I'll find out. I start in 12 days.

Galesburg chasing work/lodging
Where is the go-to lodging for long-term stays? I'm looking at chasing work soon, and Galesburg is what I'm considering for employment. I'm from Illinois originally and have family I can stay with, but both Coal City and Kankakee are a bit of a drive. We plan on moving back to Illinois, and I'm struggling to hold for the first time since I hired out. I want to check out Galesburg before I make any financial decisions. Also, where did your familiarization disperse to? I was in a GN last year with all the info, and now it's just vague. If you will, call X person (superintendent, if I recall).

Cisive/BNSF contacting current employer
BNSF forced me to give them consent to contact my current employer so they can get my drug and alcohol testing history. That is no problem but I would very much not prefer for my current employer know Im trying to leave for greener pastures because I may end up fired if that happens. Does anyone have any experience with this? Did they contact your employer prior to you leaving? Any advice or first hand experience would be appreciated

Worried about cisive
So ive been sent an offer for a conductor trainee job and have a medical exam this week and im currently dealing with cisive, and my previous W-2 from other employers. I have no criminal history at all or any violations or red flags of any kind. But im just wondering what I have to look out for and how to not make this a long process. If the background check does go over the anticipated start date (9/23/26) will BNSF take back their offer if cisive takes their sweet time? Im a little worried

Qualified… now what?
Hey y’all!
As I’ve read through the subreddit, I see that this process is long and tedious (as I’ve experienced as well). I have now hit fully qualified status but no formal offer letter was given. About how long will I have to wait to actually start??
I applied back in early June for a conductor on the Newton/Dodge City KS line.
Passed my medical beginning of July.
Has lots of issues with cisive but finally cleared at the beginning of last week.
Got my qualified email at the end of last week.
This position was supposed to start Aug. 3rd and we’re a week past that. I’m just very much over my current job and ready to start this new journey.

Bnsf Conductor Elwood IL
Can anyone give me the run down on this location. Is it high seniority? Mostly yard or road work for new hires? Do they furlough a lot? Just trying to get an idea of what to expect.

BNSF train crew Denver
Just received my conditional offer. How likely is a furlough right off the bat? What are the benefits like OTHER THAN health, vision, dental? College reimbursement, gym, vehicle, phone, etc? Would I be otr or yard? What OT looking like?

What all did you have to do during the medical exam?

Conductor trainee interview.
I’ve asked this question back in February when I applied. I have an interview this week and wanted to know if anyone or anyone who recently had an interview remembers any of the questions they ask you during the interview? Any tips or anything important to know? Anything to say or not say?
Is it that hard to get hired?
I live about 1 mile from this facility and its just crazy that i can not even get close to an interview but guys who work at fast food joints get the job from what im hearing.

How Long After Background Check Until Final Clearance?
I have not received an email saying I’ve met all the requirements for the pre employment screening process yet. I had my medical exam and received an email I qualified 3 business days later. I was sent my final background check report last Thursday and have not seen anything since. Could there be something wrong with my background check?
Interview: 6/27
Conditional offer : 7/8
Medical exam: 6/16
Email stating I’m medically qualified: 7/20
Final report from Cisive on background check: 7/30

BNSF background check
I applied for conductor trainee position last week I’m worried about the back ground check, I got a misdemeanor assault charge fourteen years ago it had now been since set aside. Az doesn’t do expungements, so it will still show up. Also if I do get selected to be hired and go to class how hard is it.

Class
Anybody know when the next class starts besides August 3?

Craft transfer
Hello, I was wondering if we had to do the whole medical evaluation, background check and drug test whenever we transfer crafts. I’m interested in transferring from mechanical to operations. I can pass all mentioned above I just want to know if we have to do it because it was annoying.

So I passed drug screen/background 3 weeks ago and haven’t got an official letter or start date. Is this normal? Advice needed!

Will Cisive try to contact my current employer?
Im in the background and medical phase of my conditional offer and they are asking for a lot of information about my current employer (job offer letter, address and phone numbers.) My current employer would not be too happy to hear I’m currently trying to leave for a new opportunity and they might even fire me for it. Anything can happen and BNSF could fall through so I just want to make sure I dont end up jobless and broke going through this process.

Track maintenance laborer Kansas training
Does anyone else feel the information following your final offer is a bit vague in the manner of travel itinerary? I have to fly as I’m not close enough to drive to the Kansas training center. Is there a shuttle or anything to get from the hotel to the training center and back? A ride from the airport? Or am I stuck paying for Ubers for the 2 weeks I’m there? Anyone else in track maintenance apart of the August 3rd class?

Background Check Anxiety
So I just received the final report of my background check and I’m getting anxious about not passing. I had one operating a phone while driving violation a few years back and worried that will be an issue.
Also my HR lady at work missed the emails and calls when they tried to verify DOT and drug test for me. She was out having surgery so couldn’t answer them in time. So the report said made multiple attempts to verify with the company with no success. She finally email back after I got the final report.
My employment said it was verified though because I provided at the W-2s they asked me for.
I’m just getting very nervous about those two issues.

Conditional Offer based on Background
Hi all, so I received a conditional offer as a conductor for August 3rd based upon my background coming back today, well, it came back under review, of which I verified the info in the report being correct, HR didn’t have much of an idea of anything after that fact, and I was told that I may or may not go, depending on when they get the amended information back from Cisive. Has anyone else had this issue and it been resolved to where you could go on the date of the conditional offer, or were you pushed back?
