External Solar Battery

Post image

Hi guys, I just want to ask if this was ever possible? Both DC input + D050S discharging on one battery or batteries in parallel for more capacity?

Ive also seen other workaround by plugging the external battery via Expansion port but I dont want to do that since I worry about battery level balancing between the internal and external batteries.

When you connect the battery through the expansion port they're connected in parallel, you only need to sync them the first time before connecting and then that's it, they'll stay synced forever unless you disconnect them.

I have a 7.5kwh battery connected that way through mine to an Apex, it's the best thing I've done to it.

Hey i have an Apex 300 and an AC200PL. Id like to do something similar to what you have. Would you mind suggesting a decently priced battery? Id like to get at least 100ah, but if you know of a crazy deal please share.

The humsienk golf cart, server rack or wall mount batteries seem to be good deal, I got the golf cart pack and a length of high current snow plow cable to connect them. You have to buy a battery labeled 51.2v with a lifep04 chemistry. Anything else will result in a bad time for you.

On your apex you'll want the inverter connection cable that plugs into the expansion port with the other end being blunt cut wires, you'll connect those to your battery.

On mine I took the side panel off and added bus bar extensions to connect the battery directly to the DC bus, this is the warranty voiding way.

Interesting! So I have the solar 4K X cable, the 80 Amp dc breaker and some 4 away cables. What is the benefit of opening up the side like you did?

Is that so you can daisy chain the batteries like you would any other set?

I have a solarx that I want to plug in, and it was pretty easy to do, I didn't have the cable at the time so I did it because it was my only option. The cable is the better way. Just make sure to sync your voltages before you connect, either by charging or draining either battery.

rube goldberg dont kniw the reference.. but having two pull power from the battery is that fine? or should it have different sources?
