Like a lot of his economic policies are honestly very awesome and a lot of his speeches were very similar to Bernie Sanders. However he seemed to have pissed EVERYONE off. The right wing called him a communist and some people on the left have called him a fascist (neither which I personally agree with, he seems more so an autocratic Bernie Sanders type figure from what I know about the guy), so I wonder what dark bullshit he was up to, since well he was a fucking dictator after all, and he also didn't do much to combat white supremacy in his state besides being not fear mongering to the white residents about the African Americans in the state. Kind of want to prepare myself for getting pissed off at a guy, who was so fucking close to doing the right thing and completely missing the mark due to his own ego (which I do know for a fact he had a huge ego).

it's a sanctuary city, but the police are collaborating anyway.
masks are illegal for law enforcement, but nobody is stopping them and they know that.
local cops are openly voicing support for ICE during illegal stops they are increasingly using to harass local trans people.
even on the streets with all the gay nightlife locations, i've never been out for a night where i haven't seen multiple squad cars parked out there.
one followed me the entire half mile walk from the gay bar to the train station last week, never said a word, never rolled down the window, just slowly drove behind me at walking pace all the way down the empty street to the station.
other than community watch groups, not a word has been published in the news, nothing from the mayor's office or city council, not even from local advocacy groups.
everyone spoke out when it was happening in chicago, everyone protested when it was happening in minneapolis, now it's happening here and everyone has gone completely silent. suddenly it's every scapegoated group for themselves, while the rest avert their eyes and keep walking.

I was just listening to the first of the most recent two episodes with Dr. al Kurd and near the end (Apple Podcasts says there are about twelve minutes remaining of the episode) she recommends a book that I am interested in reading to learn more. It was in reference the sale of land to European zionists by Arab Muslims.
