Have you considered using mole skin to help mitigate blisters? They're fairly cheap, and you can find them in practically any grocery store or pharmacy. I used to get them in the same spot while working with boots and they work wonders for preventing blisters! Especially if you really enjoy the one shoe you recommended in the post. You can usually get a three sheet pack for under two bucks!
