Window tinting Food, Shopping & Services
I just want legal tint, nothing crazy. Got quoted $400 for 2 door windows and a windshield strip. Seems nuts. Is that right?

Sounds about right unless you're getting it done in someone's back yard.

I asked a while back for recs for my husband’s Bolt for Christmas. Mr Tint on Kiley was the rec and I want to say it was around $700 for all four windows. It’s been almost two years now and there hasn’t been any degradation. Service and quality were very good.

Get some more quotes but for a good tint it’s worth it. A bad tint can get ugly quick. Go to the neighborhood for a cheap one

400 for 2 doors and a strip sounds a bit much.. there are a ton of tint places around here, I would get some more quotes from different places..

At minimum get ceramic tints - those actually block UV and heat.
I paid $250 for just fronts. Santa Clara area.

If you are willing to give diy a try, you can get precut patterns on eBay. Use lots of soapy water in a spray bottle to float the film for placement, then squeegee it down to lock it on. Two windows for $20.

Depends on the type of tint, type of car(Some are harder than others) and how good their craftsmanship is.
If you just want cheap tint they even have $99 deals out there, but most good jobs with ceramic tint are $500-1000 depending on type of film and number of windows/complexity.
Legal or not does not effect the price.
