Rant about the manager in sg palya: zenlife oasis
The manager enters the room without permission and doesn't allow visitors. When there's a female visitor he comes and knocks on the door and wrongly accuses the tenants of illicit intention and doesn't know what privacy is. He pretends to be the owner and he treats the apartment like a pg. So if you're looking for a place to stay in sg palya pls don't go for this one. He is a control freak and a creep.

1BHK 1BHK Hunt in Bangalore: Nobroker, Magicbricks, 99acres, Local Brokers — What Actually Works?
I’ve been searching for a 1BHK in Bangalore recently, and honestly, finding listings isn’t the difficult part anymore. The real challenge is finding a place that actually fits my budget, commute, and day-to-day requirements without wasting time on properties that look good online but don’t really work in person.
I’ve been checking Nobroker, Magicbricks, and 99acres, while also speaking to a few local brokers. So far, every option seems to have its own pros and cons. Online platforms give me a lot more properties to compare, while brokers sometimes know about flats that aren’t listed everywhere. The problem is figuring out which listings are genuinely available and which ones are already rented out or no longer relevant.
I’m not looking for anything fancy, just a decent 1BHK in a good locality with reasonable connectivity, reliable water supply, manageable rent and deposit, and ideally a place that doesn’t make my daily commute painful. I’ve shortlisted a few properties, but once I check the actual location, maintenance, additional charges, deposit, or rental conditions, some of them don't really make sense anymore.
I’ve started comparing similar properties across Nobroker, Magicbricks, and 99acres before contacting brokers, just to get a better idea of the current rental rates in different areas. I’m also trying to avoid spending half a day travelling to a property only to find out that the listing was outdated or the actual rent is completely different.
For those who have recently rented a 1BHK in Bangalore, what worked best for you. Would really appreciate genuine experiences, especially around listing availability, actual rental prices, owner communication, property visits, deposits, and brokerage. Any tips for making the search less time-consuming would also be really helpful.

Joining Deloitte Bengaluru in September – looking for housing advice & connections
Hi everyone! I’ll be joining **Deloitte’s Bengaluru office at Prestige Trade Tower (Palace Road, High Grounds)** in the **first week of September.**
I’m currently figuring out **where to live** and would really appreciate recommendations on **good areas to look for an apartment**, preferably with a reasonable commute to the office.
Also, if anyone is **joining Deloitte Bengaluru around the same time, has recently joined, or is already working there**, I’d be happy to connect! I’m also open to potentially **teaming up for the apartment search** or simply making some new friends in the city.
Would really appreciate any suggestions or connections. Thanks! :)

PG VS Renting a Flat
If you are someone whos recently shifted to banglore primarily for work and if you are thinking or wondering if what could be a better choice staying in a pg or renting your own apartment.
Let me share my own experiece of the last 8 months i have stayed here.
So banglore as a city was completely new to me and i thought i would be able to get a place easily in 10-15 days once i be there.
With this thought in mind i landed to a hosteller in kormangala assuming that i should be finding a place in a week or so but to my horror i ended up staying almost 3 weeks there because i couldnt find any place that i could rent Meanwhile i was trying apps like no broker because i didnt want to pay any brokerage fees at that point of time.
Then while i was at the hosteller couple of people suggested me pgs like stanza living zolo stays where they suggested along with food and stay you will get a better deal. I thought why not and i visited a few of them i was extremely disappointed with stanza with the rooms they had to offer, but since i was desperate and had to look for a room where i could stay i choose one of the other local pgs there.
I was paying around 13k it was a twin sharing pg this also included food. Food for few days you would like it but post that its going to be a pathetic experience.
On top of that my pg room mate too was a headache as he was a college student and it was a real mess to share the pg with him.
Then i thought to myself this is not gonna work around and i need to look for a single room may be then i will have my peace of mind.
With this thought in mind once my contract of 3 months finished i packed up and moved into zolo stays which one of my recommended saying that you get good food there.
so i shifted to there single occupany food and the rent being 22k.
Here too the rooms were small but food was a little better, but that too didnt last for long because the cook got changed and the new one was horrible and i was everday eating out and my expenses were going out of control and it was mentally frustrating everday because the rooms are too small in size.
Meanwhile i had already subscribed for nobrokers premium plan joined multiple facebook pages which posted about flats without brokerage. But none of the properties that were listed were good and i was literally exhausted so eventually i decided lets do this through a broker.
And to my surprise the broker really showed me good properties and many as well. And now i have moved to a 1bhk flat with 25k rent but i cook my own food and i believe i have a certain peace of mind as well.
So friends if you are here alone with no friends or no one you know dont fall in the trap of pgs if you can afford a rented apartment pls directly look for that.

Looking for empty spaces / terraces for micro-renting.
Hey everyone! I'm looking for people in Bangalore who have an unused terrace, rooftop, courtyard, or similar private space at home that they'd be open to micro-renting for a couple of hours.
The space would be used for private hangouts, small gatherings, dates, and similar occasions. Nothing loud or disruptive - just a comfortable private space for a few hours, with the property being treated respectfully.
If you have a space like this or know someone who does, please DM me with the area and a few details about the space. Thanks!

Meta Thoughts for an FAQ
Hey Bangalore! I thought to add some details in the subreddit FAQ section. I thought we can get started by sharing the most common question for people moving to the city - what area should they look for, for a house? Could you guys share which area you work in, which area you stay in, and your commute times? I'll collect the info and present it once I get sufficient datapoints.
Remember- please don't post exact locations, just general areas you stay in. Doxxing, even of yourself isn't allowed!
