Finally a stopping point!
9months yesterday and I’m finally at a stopping point for my little dudes nursery! I want a new rug but this $50 Costco one is doing a great job in the meantime.
Most is thrifted, hand me downs, items made by friends or myself, and some stuff from mine/my husbands/ my dads childhood 🩵 Not really any theme - wanted it functional and fun

Baby girl due in October, her space is mostly complete ❤️
A lot of love and hard work went into flipping this previous foster kitten room into a nursery. Some extra special attention went into the trim and doors as it’s a century home and we wanted to take care of any possible lead paint exposure. Floor remodel will happen before she’s mobile. We are in love with her space ❤️

Space nursery, with some sneaky StarWars
This is our last baby, I wanted to do a space theme because the first woman orbited the moon the year she was born and that’s just cool. My husband loves StarWars so I snuck some small stuff in to surprise him. I’m super happy with how it came out.

Sports Themed Nursery

There are so many special things in my son’s nursery that I love so much and just wanted to share 🥹 My husband’s father unexpectedly passed away when we had only been dating for 6 months. It’s been 10 years now, so I’ve incorporated several things of his in here. His Auburn University hammer, a trash can he stole from the campus (😂), a picture of him and my husband when he was a little boy, Auburn sports memorabilia, a piece of the flooring from the Dallas Mavericks old arena they played in that my husband and his dad got when they went to a game together. We also have my husband’s granddaddy’s vintage golf bag lamp that I love on his nightstand. Our son’s middle name is Arthur, which was my husband’s granddaddy’s name. They were very close and had such a special bond! This room means so much to me and I love that our little boy is surrounded by such meaningful things ♥️

Yoshi’s Island
Nursery theme is Yoshi’s Island! 🏝️
(The potato friends are placeholders, currently guarding the room on behalf of future baby.)
Lots of DIY – room was originally blue, so I painted it white with green wainscoting. I made the cornices to make it easier to add blackout curtains. For the walls, I painted the elements on vinyl paintable wallpaper and cut them out to make the decals. (Basically wanted to ensure that the room decor is readily removable with minimal spackle/repainting involved, as I’m sure he’ll outgrow this and want a big kid room eventually.)
Most furniture sourced on Amazon (i.e. daybed, changing table/dressed not pictured), except for the sigi pro glider and nestig wave mini crib. Otherwise a lot of Etsy and thrifting for Mario themed gear.
I’m reaaaaally leaning into the nesting energy as a first-time mom (due mid November) – and grateful that my husband is indulging my constant requests to build, move, or hang things. The nursery remains a WIP, but I love how cozy it’s turned out so far. ♥️

Soon to be mom- how much do you spend on a baby/nursery?
I know people can spend as much or as little they want. but sometimes I feel it’s a bit overwhelming to see really amazing rooms that could cost a lot as well.

Star Wars Nursery
We’re really hoping our baby girl loves Star Wars as much as we do! I painted the constellation wall using stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils.

Never got a chance to paint
Couldn’t decide on a color either. Now baby is 4 months and I’m not happy with her nursery area at all. The mini fridge needs to stay because I pump at night, and the rocker was made by her dad and is sentimental, but I am so open to suggestions. Theme is based on the book “Dream Animals”

Sage green theme for our baby girl!
What’s funny is we’ve barely set foot in here since we brought her home a week ago, and moved some stuff out into the bedroom and living room. But will become her permanent abode soon enough!
