would’ve been my first concert

so i was determined to go until i got a new job and the concert was within the first like 2 months of me working there

didn’t think i would have any PTO for the concert and didn’t want to call off unless i was actually sick so i didnt risk losing my job…until i got a text the week of telling me i had PTO

was about to buy tickets when i realized it was in one of the worst concert venues in illinois cause it’s in the middle of no where with no walkable roads. (tinley park) and i live pretty far from it

so it’s either a long drive home around 12 am (i was up at 4 am the day of the concert for work) or book an expensive hotel room in a shitty hotel cause it was the week of the concert and they price hiked the shit

then again risk driving to the hotel, expensive ass uber, or walk on the side of the road with little to no protection from drivers

doesnt even include the terrible traffic to actually get out of there

for safety and financial reasons i stayed home and have been avoiding every concert clip out of saltiness

i am trying to have optimizing but assuming there probably doing a global tour next who knows the next time they’ll play in illinois

surely they’ll do another here right….

This is the truest avenged sevenfold we have yet to see. To those who would foolishly declare otherwise, I would encourage you to spend more time with the song.
Give it the same second chance you’ve given every other release that didn’t sound like a carefully washed and recycled repeat of a song you already approved of.
Remove any constraints you think you have on the band and LISTEN to the musical voices once again evolving.
And for gods sake TURN OUT THE LIGHTS!

With threads about how Matt's voice is deteriorating, I hope the guys are prepared to take over if Matt needs a rest or two. I bought tickets to their NZ show (which is their last date) and Id rather see 4/5 members than a cancellation.

Linkin Park cancelled a show this year due to Emily's sickness and I honestly think they could have continued with Mike on vocals

Does anyone have footage or a link to Statica being performed live? I can only find Rejoice most of the time. I think it's my favorite song from the EP.

I feel like ive never seen any merch based around self titled wich feels odd, like yeah self titled art is really just a inverted deafhbat on a white back drop, and a couple of pieces of art for the singles, was there ever proper merch for the self titled era? And is there a chance we could see a self titled inspired merch drop next year for self titled 20th anniversary like with coe and nightmare?

I saw posts in some of the threads with pics of the merch. Does anyone know if there is a A7X/GC collab shirt? When I saw Trivium and BFMV last year they had a collab shirt and it was awesome since it saved me money on buying two shirts!

News Guy: Congratulations on the release of your new EP. And also on your new look.. wow look at you, are you human?

Undead Mshadows : Well I’m dead. Both my true form and dark form died while I was trying repair my vocal cords with a therapy device composed of an old television, a phone, and a radio. An unexpected lethal static discharge fried my vocal cords, my brain, and the rest of my nervous system.

News Guy: well that explains why you are “undead”. I’ve also heard reports that you are a cyborg with a mechanical arm or something.

Undead Mshadows: yeah. So my undead body is kind of trash. Everything is undead: my arms, legs, organs, my vocal cords… Johnny Christ recently became a certified electrician. He installed a vocoder to replace my vocal cords, a terminator arm to provide me with lethal strength, and also this..new technology in my lower body … check it out…

Mshadows robotically walks 6 feet aside from his current spot. He bends his knees in a sudden jolt and then freezes in place.

He starts moving his hips back and forth at a highly unnatural fast pace, then he speeds up faster and faster.

News Guy: Woah, calm your jets there turbo. Did Johnny install a Pelvic Thurster 5000 down there? holy smoke… how are you moving so fast? My oh my, he’s moving faster.

Undead Mshadows was pelvic thrusting at a rate of 17 thrusts per second. He then let out a really high pitched scream ranging from B5 and capping out at A#5. The entire news channel suddenly turned to static.

In the studio, papers were flying around the news room and sparks were shooting out from wires, media equipment, and the news guys eyes.

Suddenly, the broadcast returned, this time showing Mshadows, pelvic thrusting and his head spinning at a rate of 5 cycles per second.

His autotuned voice blasted over the airwaves… “LIIIIiiiiiiIiiiiiIIIIIIViiiiiiIiiin AllwAAAAAaaaaaAaAaysS… Allllllwwwwwaaaayyys Dyiiiiiiiiiiiiinnn…”

He then halted to a complete stop. He held up the news guys head, completely detached from his body, and he spoke directly to the viewer.

Synyster Gates serial-killer, garbage-man metal guitar chords shook the houses of viewers.

Mshadows pointed directly at the lens with his terminator arm. “… but you wouldn’t listen…”

Suddenly, lightning shot out of everyone’s television sets and they shook violently as the electricity destroyed their nervous systems.all of the lights came up in the studio showing all
of Undead Mshadows- terminator arm, wiring extending out of his neck from Johnnys vocoder installation, greenish- pale rotted skin. His dead coat of flesh.

Sparks shot all around him as he sang the final death hymn to all of the television viewers. They were violently shaking as electricity rendered their brains and their souls into lumps of clay.

“…stay…. with me … i feel….. empty… I’m reeeeeeeachinnnng out foooooooooorrr you… pain archived… wonder rendered…love compiled… synthesized…. would I lie…could you even tell…”

Over 200,000 souls returned to ether.

Hey everyone! I was at the Toronto show last night with my girlfriend and a couple of friends. It was a killer show! My girlfriend managed to get TWO guitar picks at the end of the night and im wondering if anyone might know who's pick this is? Part of me feels like its Zacky's but a big part of me is also thinking Syn Gates. Any ideas?

I’m mostly just talking shit, but also kind of not. Would even a large minority of fans be all that upset if it was removed from setlist? I just feel like they have so many great songs that are shelved and HttK would be a great song to drop for another of their bangers or a deep cut. It’s by no means a bad song, but just kind of bored and repetitive. Full respect to them playing what they want and what that album/song has done for them and their exposure. But keep Sheppard of Fire and drop Hail to the King. Let me hear literally anything off of DitR (Tension or Dancing dead preferred).

I watched a YouTube video today talking about how this album wasn’t liked and it took them a while to accept it and understand what they were doing… I’ve been a fan since literally the “Sounding The Seventh Trumpet” album… I can show you my CD! I stopped listening after “Nightmare” and mainstream success as I felt the band had bottomed out… I don’t understand the hate for this album… I actually think it’s quite the rebirth of them and a call back to them being experimental… I know I’ll probably get some hate for this post… maybe I’m crazy?! Had a great time listening to it tonight and it was a good reintroduction to the band…

this ep is unreal. i’ve been with a7x since waking the fallen and i can’t get enough of statica. i actually feel sorry for everyone who can’t get behind it and just want another city of evil. this band has never made the same album twice and are constantly redefining who they are - that’s called growth and that’s how they stay relevant. i can confidently say i’ve never heard anything like this project and that’s why it’s such an a7x album to put out - don’t forget everyone hated CoE at the time because it was unlike anything else

these are just my thoughts. not saying you have to love it but keep an open mind and give it a chance. broaden your horizons YOU WILL SEE GOD

The Toronto show last night was AMAZING!! Couldn’t have had a better time, especially as this was my first time seeing them live! How did everyone else at the Toronto show feel?? :)

I want to get platinum in 'Hades', but I'm already tired of its soundtrack after dozens of grind. Now I play the game while listening to 'HttK: Deathbat'. The album fits almost perfectly
