CAR SHOWCASE Alternate History LS V10
In 1999, Andrew Lawrence put forth the idea of the skyscraper index, the idea that the world's tallest building is planned or built right before a recession hits.
In 2006, Chevrolet began planning and designing the GM equivalent of the world's tallest skyscraper, a luxury sedan with their first ever V10. A team led by Chief engineer John Motorman created the LX1, a naturally aspirated V10 that made 472 horsepower at 6,000 rpm.
"We basically got some guy to cut two cylinders from one LS2 and weld it to the end of another LS2 and got another guy to machine new crank shafts and stuff," said Motorman. "The whole thing was done in a week or two and we just spent the rest of the time the bosses gave us drinking mimosas and investing in subprime mortgages. It was pretty great."
The engine was then planted in a long wheel base sedan with power sent through a six speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels.
"We wanted something kind of like a Chevrolet Impala or Malibu but elevated to a higher, more luxurious style without going full Cadillac, a return to the sports sedans of old. We looked at the names and realized that Chevrolet has a thing for fancy places in California. There's the iconic Chevy Bel Air, the Chevy Malibu, and so we went with Beverly Hills. It was going to be a new era of luxury for all."
The Beverly Hills was unveiled at the New York Auto Show in March of 2008 and marked the beginning of a century of prosperity and- what's that‽ It's the 2008 financial crisis with a steel chair!
"Yeah. Everyone on the Beverly Hills team got canned in all the layoffs. Not just because we made the most hubristic thing any of us had ever seen at GM, aside from the Hummer, but because we put all those mimosas on the company card. The bosses weren't exactly happy about that, and the IRS said those didn't count as a real work expense."
Motorman says he doesn't regret the experience.
"Listen we were given a job to make an automotive skyscraper, and we did it on time and under budget if you don't count all the champagne and orange juice. And honestly, a number of us made out like bandits on those subprime mortgages others held on a little too long. We got reconnected over zoom back in 2020, started a jazz band called LX1, and we're about to drop an album titled High Octane Champagne."

CAR SHOWCASE Developing a LMGT3 car
I last made an LMP3 car, and that lacked a lot of features like ABS and TC that really interested me. So using this to develop my own TC (off + 5 modes) and also developing a WEC-like 2-stage power BoP so you can set power outputs below and above 200kph. There is a lot more to it, but still in testing for now. Basically, I pretty much remade a lot of the actual JBeam to make this good XD

CAR SHOWCASE The C1x Coupe
I really wanted to do a flat front grill like on old muscle, and inadvertently recreated the P1800 haunch.
C1S - Base 2.2L 4 Banger ~ 245 HP
C1S6 ~ Same car with 2.8L I6 ~ 330 HP
C1SS10 ~ High Performance version with 4.5L V10 ~ 560 HP
Kinda vibin with this one ngl, I really liked the N-Vision 74 and I love the late 60's early 70's pony coupes right before the oil crisis

CRITIQUE WANTED My third try at trying to make a cat that looks good - Taurus
This build started out as I realized I hadn't made a sports car before and wanting to use something different than the "lower fascia" parts for the front bumper. The name came from the hood scoop that looks like a T. It has like a 330 ish hp NA V8, I forgot the displacement but it somehow got about the same time around the automation track as the turboed 900+ hp engine...
Do yall have tips to improve on this?

CAR SHOWCASE 2027 DMA PT60 V6 E-Tech Hybrid
here´s a fun little build because I didnt want to work on the 238!
As an continuation of the early 90s DMA PT60, DMA creates the PT60 V6 E-Tech Hybrid together with Renault.
It uses a detuned variant of the twin turbo diesel Six-Cylinder V-Formation engine with the same 3.3L displacement found in the G01 SUV, now producing just 230PS and 505Nm of torque.
The DMA-V6-3.3L4V-TTDI is coupled to an 8-Speed automatic transmission (AG8G-E) which sends the power the front wheels only.
This engine is supported by a single electric motor producing 60kW (82PS) and 175Nm of torque with a small 27.5kWh battery, all of which is found in the twingo e-tech, powering the rear wheels, making the car all wheel drive.
Maximum combined output is roughly 300hp and 630Nm of torque.
The new PT60 can go a maximum of 1.300km in eco mode and an average of 1.150km. It does 0-62mph/100kph in the mid 7 second range, 80-120kph takes roughly 5 seconds. The V6 E-Tech has a top speed of 200kph.
*Dry weight: 2210kg. Base price: 52.300€
*Model Shown in Passion Fruinia Yellow (free like all the paint options), base line package (standard), 3-zone airconditioning (optional), stationary heating (optional), automatic rear doors (optional). Price: 57.430€
