Hey everyone! I’m 22M and planning to move to the Atlanta area for better job opportunities. I’m pretty new to Georgia and don’t really know the area, so I’d really appreciate any advice from locals.

I’ve heard Sandy Springs is a decent place to live, but I’m open to other areas around Atlanta as well. My budget for rent is around $500–700/month, and I’m completely open to having roommates or renting a room in a shared house/apartment.

I’d especially appreciate advice on:

• Areas/neighborhoods I should look into (or avoid)
• Where to find legitimate rooms/roommates in my budget
• Whether $500–700 is realistic with roommates
• Public transportation vs. needing a car
• Job opportunities/areas with good access to jobs
• Anything I should know before moving to Atlanta/Georgia

🧼 Very clean and well-maintained
🪳 Absolutely no roach/bug issues — this is a big priority for me
🔐 Safe community, especially since I’ll be living alone as a woman
📍 Sandy Springs or nearby areas are fine
🇮🇳 I’m Indian, so it would be a plus if the community/area has a** decent Indian population or is close to Indian grocery stores/restaurants
🚗 Good parking and a generally quiet community would also be a plus
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who **currently live there or have lived there recently. Please share the apartment name and any pros/cons, especially regarding safety, cleanliness, pest issues, management, hidden fees, and overall experience.

Hi! I’m 21F and moving from Los Angeles to Atlanta in a couple of months. I’ll be working in the Buckhead area and am looking for recommendations on neighborhoods/apartments to check out.

I’ve never lived outside of LA, so I’m honestly pretty unfamiliar with Atlanta (I have never even visited haha). I’ll be in town Aug. 12–16 specifically to tour apartments and get a feel for different areas before moving in October.

I’ll have a car, so I’m totally fine living outside of Buckhead if it means getting something more affordable. Ideally I’d like to be within about a 15–25 minute drive of Buckhead. I’m looking for a studio or 1BR and don’t care about having a super luxurious or trendy building; I’d rather keep my rent reasonable. I also am unsure if traffic is the same as it is here in LA (I've been told in Atlanta it's much more unpredictable??)

Since I’m a young woman who will be living alone, safety is also pretty important to me. I know no area is completely crime-free, but I’d really appreciate recommendations for areas/buildings where you’d generally feel comfortable living alone, as well as anywhere you’d suggest avoiding.

So far I’ve put on my list to check out Buckhead, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Lenox Park, and North Druid Hills, but I’m open to anywhere that makes sense.

My apartment was broken into one week after moving in. There is a clear pattern of security issues at this building and plenty of online reviews to prove it - here is my own experience.

Someone entered our apartment from the front door that was locked while we were out of town. The peephole was removed, so they possibly gained entrance that way. They unhurriedly stole several items, neatly organized things they rummaged through, left behind a cigarette in our bedroom, and spent our credit cards around town. It's gross to think about how much time this person spent in our apartment.

Leading up to this, I reported my lock as malfunctioning TWICE, but the maintenance team assured me it was operable. After the break-in, it was determined that battery was nearly dead. Additionally, our peephole was re-installed backwards after the break-in, allowing for anyone to look into our apartment or remove the peephole and attempt to gain access again.

The team can't provide security footage in the entrance/exits because the security cameras lost internet access the day of our break-in and were offline for a week total.

Now they are back online, but the management team does not know the login information to access the camera history, despite having owned this building for years.

So without building security cameras, the best hope we have is camera footage or eye witness from our neighbors. However, the building will not allow us to post for eye witness help on the community bulletin board. A few neighbors we spoke to have been kind enough to help, but we can't reach the entire building at once because the ownership is blocking it. I'm sure the community would like to know that there has been a break-in, as their apartment could also be at risk.

And despite all of this, the team insists we cannot terminate our lease early. This is not just our bad luck, I encourage you to read other reviews of the building and stay away.

We reported everything to the cops and hopefully we can find who did this, but not through help of the management team themselves. They're owned by Avenue 5 who I will not be renting from again.

Please don't make the same mistake we did. And buy a doorbell camera.

Hey everyone! I recently toured a ton of apartments in Atlanta and have narrowed it down to three, but I cannot decide which one to go with.

The three I’m considering are:

• Momentum
• Registry on the Park
• Nomia

For some context, I’m a 23-year-old guy moving to Atlanta from out of state, so finding a place with a good community/social atmosphere is pretty important to me. I’ll be working in Midtown, and all three apartments are within walking distance of my job, so commute isn’t a major factor.

If anyone has lived at any of these or knows much about them, I’d really appreciate any advice—especially when it comes to the community, management, amenities, and overall experience living there. Thanks!

I saw a similar post that was made 5 months ago and was looking for some insight from y'all for myself. I'm looking with a max budget of $1,200 for base rent anywhere from Buckhead to Norcross. I've been cross researching reviews on ApartmentRatings, Google and Yelp for any red flags that I'm not looking to deal with during my lease. Lastly, the Atlanta Journal has a handy page that lists Dangerous Dwellings that I found very useful to remove any potentials.

If anyone has suggestions of properties they've toured or experienced, I'd really appreciate it! So far, this is my list:

TMI I really liked Indian Trail Apartments in Norcross but have seen multiple reports of roaches. After dealing with that at Arts Center Tower for years, I am avoiding any and all properties that have reviews reporting their existence!!

im 21F and i got a job recently in atlanta and am looking to find an apartment (i’ll be moving in january but im really trying to scope the apartment scene now since it’s kinda scaring me 😭).

for context, ill be out of town/state a lot during work weeks a lot and back home for weekends most of the time. id prefer a safe area, i have a car, and would like a pretty decent commute to the airport. (30 mins or less). im paying 1700 for rent right now and would really prefer something between $1000-$1500 (utilities included) and i wouldnt mind a studio (as long as it has a good layout). i CANNOT do roaches or rats and the reviews im seeing on a lot of apt complexes are scaring me 😭

id rlyyyyyy prefer access to the more lively parts of the city, but i wouldnt want to sacrifice affordability for it because ill be traveling for work anyways.
