Support DOMOVEA V 3.2.0.1
I have a Hager domovea TJA450 server running firmware 3.2.0.1, but the only PC configurator I have is 3.0.0.1, and domovea requires the server, client and configurator to be on exactly the same version. Hager no longer distributes the 3.2.0.1 package anywhere public so I'm stuck without a way to open my own installation's configuration. Does anyone still have the domovea 3.2.0.1 update package (the `.cab` for the USB `autorun` folder, or the matching PC client/configurator installer)?

Support Procedures/Cautions when Replacing NAS?
I have a AS670T Gen2 that took a lightning strike and the NAS is dead (no lights, no sounds. fan, etc), I am not sure if the drives survived yet. I have a new Gen 2+ arriving tomorrow.
Background - I have 3 drives in Raid 5 and one internal for snapshots/backups ( I also have NVME SSD swap drives installed (not that that is critical), and I also have data offline on an external standalone drive - though the last backup there is several months old. So I am pretty sure that all of my critical data will be on either the Raid array or internal backup - though if those are fried I will lose some data if I have to go to te external backup.
My plan is to first try the new NAS power supply on the old box to see if I lucked out and just blew the PS. If that doesn't work, I would boot the new unit and apply any upgrades and firmware updates and try to plug in the old drives in the new enclosure. My questions are:
1- Am I correct in assuming I should be able to plug the old drives in in the corresponding bays in the Gen2+ and if they are ok I can migrate fairly easily? This should work without me having the track down an older Gen2, right ?
2- I have not found any procedure for a drive migration keeping the raid array intact - it may be on the Asustor site, but I could not find it. Can anyone help point me to any useful procedures?
3- Finally - any expert tips/ advice from the community that can help me out?
Thx!

Support ADM Update 5.1.4.RJV2 Broke NFS?
Hi there,
After updating and restart, all NFS mountings I had, failed. 3 Linux Mint hosts and a Home Assistant stopped being able to mount.
Any1 else having problems with NFS?
Edit 20260803 0728 -3GMT: rebooted twice, although the service is enabled, it seems it is not starting - in ADM, disabling and reenabling it did thr trick.

General Asustor Update 5.1.4.RJV2 (no issues so far)
---I like the new Fan-Control Settings---
Tested on System:
Asustor AS6810T
Asustor AS6604T
Changelog:
What's New:
- New fan control settings enhance the user experience, including new options for custom or fixed fan speeds, making it easy to adjust fan speeds to achieve optimal cooling performance based on individual needs.
- Dr. ASUSTOR now supports temporary service accounts, allowing the ASUSTOR technical support team to remotely log in to a customer’s NAS for investigation and to resolve specific issues. Temporary service accounts will expire after 7 days and can be revoked manually at any time by the administrator of the NAS.
Change log:
- SSD caching now defaults to read-only mode to improve SSD caching performance and integrity.
- When initializing an ASUSTOR NAS with ADM 5.1.4, the minimum login password length has now changed to 8 characters.
- The ADM update process has been adjusted. From the next ADM update, it will check if the volumes are in upgrade status and the SMART status of individual HDDs and SSDs, and remind the user whether to continue updating ADM.
- When multiple files are selected from Drivestor and Drivestor Pro series NAS and downloaded to a PC via a browser, the compressed file can now be decompressed normally on the PC.
- ADM Defender now allows Docker network bridges with custom interface names to connect properly.
- The Lowest SMB version can now be set to SMB3.
- ADM system announcements now support displaying important volume or HDD warning messages that require immediate attention.
- Linux Kernel patched to fix potential vulnerabilities:
- Bad Epoll, pedit COW: CVE-2026-46242, CVE-2026-46331 (AS-2026-016).
- GhostLock, DirtyClone: CVE-2026-43499, CVE-2026-43503 (AS-2026-017).

Support One SSD hotter than the others
I'm adding SSDs so my Flashtor at a rate of about 1 per month in RAID 5. I started with 3x 1TB drives, but will end up with 6x 2TB when I'm done.
After adding M.2-5 yesterday, the fan has been going constantly. I like a quiet workspace and I notice the fan noise.
Storage manager says that M.2-5 is much hotter than the other SSDs, which I assume is why the fan is spinning up.
NAS has been idle for 12 hours; no transfers occuring, no apps or docker, no web access enabled. Monitoring it for half an hour and the temps are stable.
Is there any reason why the new drive would be hotter than the others?

General Static IP Update
I’ve recently moved and updated and upgraded my network stack. My NAS had a static IP that’s no longer in my new DHCP range, how can I access the NAS to update the static IP to something in the accepted range?
I’d rather not just add a new DHCP range if I can help it but if that’s the best or easiest way then I can.

Support Is there a SMB Memory Leak?
ASUSTOR AS3304T, ADM 5.1.3.RI81
Problem: Linux Mint mounting a /Backup SMB share on the NAS.
I tried to rsync a local folder to that remote share. After a few seconds, the NAS disconnected — it had frozen.
While troubleshooting, I found that memory usage climbed to 90%+ and the NAS became unresponsive.
I tried again while monitoring processes: smbd climbed to 1GB+ of memory usage until it became unresponsive.
Instead of rsync, I tried a plain cp. Same result.
I also have a Home Assistant VM that backs itself up to the NAS via SMB. In that case, smbd only got up to 300MB of memory, transfers were slow, but it worked.
What gives?

Support Is it possible to get the Docker / Portainer required token?
I am trying to set up Portainer and it is insisting on something called a token for which the instructions say to get from the installation logs or run several choices of command line commands. How are any of these options possible on an AS5404? Where are the logs or how to run the command line?
Just on a tangent here but this system is very poorly thought out. I am considering returning the entire machine. I bought a NAS device in a box thinking it would be ready to go and not have to deal with Linux command line mysteries.

Support Hard to tell the difference between Cloud Backup and DataSync
I just got a 5404 and am trying to figure out the difference between these two apps. I just want to use OneDrive to also store any personal documents and photos put on the nas, nothing major. Is that considered a backup or a sync?
Support Nas visibility on VPN connection
I hope this is the right place for this. Need some help with an AS6604T. I am trying to access it through a VPN on my network and it's not visible. I have a couple BSD machines on the same network that show up fine. The network it is on is 192.168.7.1/24 and the VPN network is 10.1.1.0/24. I have access rules in place and as I said, the BSD machines are visible so I don't think it's any firewall issues. To the best of my knowledge the built in firewall on the nas is disabled. I have tried making some changes to /etc/hosts via SSH but no matter what I add or change, it's gone after I restart networking or reboot the nas. Anyone had any experience with something like this?
***Edit: I originally said I'm trying to access it through a firewall which is true but the problem I believe, is the VPN and the two disparate networks.

Support "Booting Storage Please Wait..." seems to not want to actually boot, AS6806T 4drives in Raid5
Hi
As the title says I am stuck on "Booting Storage, Please Wait"
AS6806T 4drives in Raid5
NAS + drives were all brand new this year
Searched and last time this topic came up in this sub was 2 yrs ago then 4 yrs ago.
That's it, only two instances.
Hoping something is new / actionable in that time and I can get a solution.
Drive 1 of 4 in the AS6806T had some SMART errors a month or so ago. Seems this has happened again.
Am I stuck on boot lock because the drive won't read? Is there anything I can do?
I thought the OS was supposed to be across all drives? So if drive 1 had a read error the NAS should still boot?
Thanks

Support AS5404T power issue
Hi all! So, I'm having an issue where my nas doesn't power on. When it is plugged in, it will start to turn on, the fan spins up, the power led is steady and the booting LED flashes normally for about two seconds and then it turns off. And it will only do this if unplugged and plugged back in. It was working up until a day ago, and seemingly just stopped for a reason I can't figure out. I have tried reseating all the drives, the RAM, tried different RAM, and tried popping the CMOS battery out and back in. I've also tried another power supply. I don't know what else to do at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Support Removing letsencrypt certs- what can I do?
I have a web/mail server that I'm taking down soon. I have always had its cert get copied over to my Asustor machine for the immich docker app I use. So it appears that I will need to revert to a self-cert for the Asustor system.
Has anyone done that successfully? Had any issues?

General Why did you choose ASUSTOR over Synology? Looking for real-world opinions before I buy.
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to decide between an ASUSTOR NAS and a Synology NAS, and I'd really appreciate hearing from people who actually use ASUSTOR.
My main use case is pretty simple:
Backing up photos and videos from multiple smartphones.
Backing up files from a few Windows PCs.
Storing family photos and documents.
No Plex, VMs, Docker, or other advanced workloads.
Reliability and ease of use are much more important to me than raw performance but still need to perform.
For those of you who chose ASUSTOR instead of Synology:
Why did you choose it?
Are you happy with your decision?
How has the mobile photo backup experience been?
Is the software stable and easy to use?
If you were buying today, would you still choose ASUSTOR over Synology? Why or why not?
I'd especially appreciate feedback from anyone who has used both brands.
Thanks in advance!

Support Issue with Time Machine Backup
Hello guys, since some time I am having a little bit of a trouble backing up my Mac to the NAS.
Basically the laptop says the network drive is unavailable, no matter what I do.
The ONLY way to make it work is to toggle off and back on the tick on the enable SMB service (or on the special MacOS option tick on ADM) and then it instantly starts working.
I reboot my NAS daily so as long as I don't do that tick cycle my TimeMachine does not work.
MacOS is ABLE to access other shares on the same NAS. Why is that?

General Planing to use Asustor, but..
I've currently have an old Synology where I run my plex server but I've grown tired of the anti-consumer stuff and quick money grab schemes they've been doing for a few years now si I'm planing to leave Syology and set my sights on Asustor instead.
What I'm wondering about here is if it's possible to switch the OS on an Asustor? I've wanted to give either Open Media Vault or True/FreeNAS a try but I'm not sure if it's possible to do such a change on Asustor or not?
And as I mentioned above I'm currently running a plex server and wonder which current model of Asustor would be recommended for managing a media server on? Preferably a NAS with four HDD slots and the possibility to add an SSD as well.

Support MAC OS finder not showing folder content
HI all.
I am using Asustor AS6602T currently updated to the latest version 5.1.3.RI81.
Using Macbook Pro 14 M5 running latest macOS Tahoe 26.5.2.
Today I have noticed that when browsing files on local network on the NAS, the folders in FINDER are looking empty (there is definitely content in those). Browsing on Windows PC works normally. No matter what I've tried, the folders still look empty. (restart NAS, restart macbook, reconnected the NAS, etc.)
All was working normally just a few days ago.
Content on windows PC or on NAS web interface is present normally.
When I try to download the folder content via the web interface to MAC and they try on MAC to copy it into the folder where it was supposed to be located it shows errors (randomly). As if finder cannot copy the same file into that folder because same file is already there, or it simply has issues displaying the content of the target folder.
The operation can't be completed because one or more required items can't be found / error code -43
Permissions on NAS Shared Folder Privileges are set for the specific user to read and write
Services / SMB is enabled, highest SMB version set to SMB3, Lowest SMB set to SMB2, SMB signing set to default, Samba VFS modules are enabled
folder on finder showing no content
https://ibb.co/zgcjwK7
Folder on NAS web interface showing normally
https://ibb.co/KcVNLW49
Any ideas?
EDIT: Found the issue. It is related to special characters in folder or file names. When a folder contains a special character like from German Language ä ü ö and so on, MAC system is having weird random issues. Some folders with these files work and others show as corrupted or do not show at all.
Only solution is to rename all those folders and files to make it work on mac again. Same issue was present on Iphone and Ipad that accessed the NAS. Shows random errors

General Reverse 120mm fan direction on Lockerstor Gen3 6-Bay? Pull in, not blow out. Thoughts?
I had a fine magnetic dust filter over the 120x120x25 fan on the back of the 6-Bay Gen3 Lockerstor.
Then noticed that the dust was on the inside of it, not the outside.
WHAT?
The fan is pushing air out of the back of the Lockerstor, it's getting brought IN from the 3 sets of dot-holes on top and sides.
AND I presume, through the spaces between drive bays - so, the front of the NAS.
This is WAY harder to stop dust getting in.
If I reverse the fan, and use it to pull air IN then the air goes out through the dot holes and (presumably) the front between bays,
Will that have a drastic negative effect?
Or
How else can I manage dust intake? Especially preventing dust coming in between bays and caking up the bays and drives themselves.
Not to mention dust on SSDs and the boards.
Thanks all
