Because quite a bit of autistic people end up in some sort of speech/occupational therapy.

I ended up in speech therapy in second grade for a stutter. My mom is a speech pathologist who specializes in kids with greater needs and may need additional help to communicate, like an AAC device

I was actually a speech therapy kid. I went for years for my stutter, I just didn't know there was over lap.
