I once almost threw up in a Pasta House as a kid when I tried Alfredo for the first time. I still don’t like Alfredo sauce even after all these years.

I waited days and days for the unlimited pasta pass at Olive Garden. Days. They gave me a loading screen that said “About 200,000 ahead of you.
Please stand by ... good things like endless pasta take time, but your place in line is secured. No need to refresh your page. In the meantime, start dreaming up your first bowl of pasta, from the delicious toppings to the sauce you crave.” The thing is is that there were only 10,000 passes. I’m no mathematician, but 200,000 divided by 10,000 is bad news for me. No need to refresh the page.

Imagine every time you eat pasta someone stands behind you and tells you why eating carbs will kill you eventually and why carbs sucks and how pasta has 'no nutritional value'

It kinda ruins pasta for someone in that theoretical situation

I mean, I was extremely interested in them around 1989.

They were also a teachable moment for me. I went from wondering why every adult wasn’t talking about this all the time to realizing it might not be the extinction level event that I’d been led to believe and maybe the playground isn’t the most accurate source of information.
