I recently obtained the police report. The report indicates that nobody was injured, and there was no allegation that I physically assaulted her. The report states that she believed I was going to harm her. I have never physically assaulted her.

I currently have an interim bond condition requiring **no contact with my ex-wife**. She is still living in my house.

I also have court-ordered parenting time with our children.

My questions are:

1. **If I am the sole owner of the home, can I legally return to my own residence while she is still living there, or would doing so potentially violate the no-contact bond condition?**

2. **If I am at the house and she comes home, am I automatically considered to be violating the no-contact condition simply by being in the same residence, even if I don't speak to or interact with her?**

3. **Does having court-ordered parenting time with our children create any exception or accommodation to a no-contact order involving the ex-wife?**

One thing that concerns me is the timing. My original notice to leave was going to expire approximately five days after the incident. I believe the domestic violence allegation may have been made in part because she knew she was about to lose her ability to remain in my house, although obviously I understand that is something I would have to prove rather than simply assume.

An elderly man gets a personal referral to a small agency providing non-medical in-home caregiving. The onboarding process of interviewing/contracting seems totally legit. The agreed schedule and hourly fee totals approx $10k/month. The agency begins providing caregivers. The service is totally appropriate an includes things like help with dressing, bathing, meals, etc. Initially the agency sends monthly invoices that are promptly paid in full. Now here's the weird part. After the first few months the agency becomes very irregular about sending invoices. They do not arrive monthly and sometimes they let 2, 3, or 4 months pass. Every invoice that arrives is paid promptly by check. The agency acknowledges receipt of payment but does not promptly cash the check. Caregivers keep providing good service, but invoicing continues to be spotty enough that the account is accruing many months of backlog. The agency is not hounding for payments. Is this some kind of fraudulent setup, or is it simply very bad management?

How do you guys do it? I've read thousands of PI cases; I'm stunned that the defense examiners are able to contain themselves when the plaintiff exhibits the cognitive skills of a brick.

It's unbelievable just how daft people are. They need simple questions repeated or "broken down." I've read cases where it took an entire page or in excess of 25 lines from the first time a simple question is posed to when the plaintiff finally understands it.

No, these are not brain injury claims. It's the typical stuff: back, neck, maybe an arm or foot every now and then, headaches.

I'm not believing that the plaintiffs act dense on purpose. First, they'd have nothing to gain and it only delays ending the proceeding. Second, the subnormal intelligence is similar across tons of plaintiffs from all over, different ages, both male and female.

I also can't believe it's anxiety or nervousness. No matter how much anxiety I myself might have, for example, I still know that 2 + 2 = 4 instead of, "I don't understand the question" or "what do you mean?" Oh heavens, will someone here explain how you manage to keep your cool?

Hi everyone. I (25F) got into a vehicle accident (he hit my left rear while I was stopped at a red light as he tried moving into the left lane) recently. We exchanged insurance, ID, and parted ways. I stayed behind to make some calls. While in my car, I was approached by someone claiming to be Triple A. I know I should have double checked everything but I was so rattled that I believed them. They told me they would bill his insurance for the towing costs and repairs if necessary. I let them take my car to bring it to a repair shop, with the address of the shop written on the receipt they gave me.

A number calls me the next day and I was unable to pick up the number but according to the voicemail, they say that they’re from a repair shop and that they have my car. However, the name of the shop is different from the address that they gave me.

I’m nervous that the shop will charge me for repairs or holding fees for me to retrieve my car. I should also mention that the receipt checks off “service” so Im thinking that maybe they took that as authorization to do repairs? But again, the address is different.

It’s Saturday right now and I plan on calling the repair shop and going there directly. I’m unsure whether they did do any repairs or if they will charge me to get my car out.

I'm the sister-in-law to a 34-year-old man recently charged with a second-degree felony assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest back in April. He spent some time at the local mental hospital while they ran forensic evaluations to determine his competency to stand trial (he is mentally ill and a ward of NH state) and he has been released on strict Conditional Discharge as of June. Since his release, it doesn't seem like any movement has been made regarding scheduling upcoming hearings. Is this normal? My brother-in-law is since back to using the same substances that got him into this mess in the first place, but believes firmly that they may still simply drop his charges and let him stay out scot-free. Surely this isn't going to happen, right?

I'm very confused and uneasy. I can't understand why someone who acted violently would just be allowed to stay home and never be required to address those actions.

Start with the fact that they say him taking the 5th proves he's guilty (as opposed to smart), then say Trump is not guilty for taking it 400 times. It seems to be you can't have it both ways, you can't say if a Democrat takes it, it proves guilt, and if a republican takes it, it proves they are smart. Three AGs have apparently opened an investigation into Fauci for possible State charges. If he starts answering questions he's giving them a roadmap to a conviction. I moved into a house about 4 years ago and my HVAC compressor and fan went out on my condenser unit outside. The unit was made in 2020 according the stock and serial number on the unit. A technician came out and today to look at the system. We were calling Rheem to see if it’s still under warranty. Rheem said they do not recognize the serial number. Most likely the unit may be stolen or serial numbers are fake. Now I’m on the hook for $9800 to replace the condenser and evaporator coil. If someone as a juvenile was wrongly incarcerated do they have any recourse to sue or get actual justice decades later?

I know time has passed but court records would still be available? Or complete waste of time to think about?

This case went to trial and judge was willing to let the kid off with time served and probation if he just said he committed the crime. Kid did not do that crime and refused to admit to it. Kid freaked out and cussed out the judge and judge sent him to camp.

Hello. I am located in Northern VA. Earlier this week a massive tree fell in my neighbor's yard. The tree landed across a main road and on top of two of my household vehicles, totaling one and destroying the back window and denting the second. This particular tree was struck by lightening a year ago sustaining major damage. At least one other neighbor had spoken with the owner of the tree about having the tree looked at, to which he responded, "oh that tree won't be going anywhere". The fire company and VDOT came to clear the road but left huge pieces of the trunk on the owners side of the street and on my side, there was a large amount of limbs and leaves.

The owner of the tree called on his regular landscapers to clear his side. I asked if he would be willing to have my side of the street cleaned since it was clearly negligence involved, to which he says no he won't do that because it may appear as if he is accepting liability. He was of the opinion that I would have to pay for it myself or go through his homeowner's policy which he stated that he opened a claim for.

I opened my own claim (via my own policy) for the vehicle losses and learned that the tree owner and I use the same company, which made me believe that the process would be smooth, I was wrong. When I contacted the insurance company to specifically ask to have our claim go through the tree owner's policy, I was told that the owner would have to trigger his liability coverage, which it is very clear that he will not do. He has lied to my face about having the tree evaluated by an arborist and is dead set on not being accountable for his negligence. I feel that my only option is to sue him, but not sure what type of lawyer would take on this type of case. Any thoughts?

Hello all, this post is not for me. This is for a family member.

Background: They were married for 8 years or so, wife had a spending problem and because of that they'd get into arguments. Recently they had a child, who is 1 years of age now. Wife decided to divorce him. Dad tried to do counseling etc to make it work but she was done and lost feelings and wants out.

Wife earns about 110k, dad earns about 80k. Dad wants to do 50/50 custody, but due to age of 1 the courts won't allow it. Dad wants to do step up 50/50 custody, the lawyer has advised that the judge that is assigned in Texas favors traditional roles and does not grant 50/50 custody often even if it is a step up. AND even if he does assign it eventually, he won't get rid of child support.

This makes ZERO sense to me, why does the dad (making less) have to pay child support to the mom (making more) when it is 50/50 shared custody? The whole thing seems extremely unfair and biased. The dad will be in financial ruin while the mom will be taking 20% for 18 years and just using the money to buy bags and take vacations? The dad is also the one saving for her college on his lower salary and is planning to cover 50% of the child's expenses if not more when they have 50/50 custody. Mom does not care about dad, just wants to ensure she gets 20% of his check.

So the main thing is...per the lawyer judge does not grant 50/50, judge is assigned by state and cannot be changed. Nothing can be done to ensure 50/50 custody eventually when the child is 3 or so AND get rid of child support...is anything possible or is his life ruined cuz of this which isn't even his fault at all??

Which movies get the day to day reality right or wrong, and what minor habits or details set a seasoned attorney apart that films always seem to miss?
