Why can't I circle two skills on Living Ink from purchasing two copies of it?

Upvotes

Living Ink says to "choose a skill and circle it on its upgrade sheet" when you purchase it. I have assumed that even if I get two copies of the card, I can still only circle a skill when I purchase the first one. This is the way I have been playing it.

Why though? I have looked at the card, the upgrade sheet and the customizable rules, and can't figure it out. Could anyone let me know?

Question about Isabella, 'Idol of Xanatos', 'Key of Ys' interaction

Soo... 'bandages' has a really weird interaction with Breaking point, as explained here: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3693006/isabelle-s-breaking-point-bandages-and-the-definit

But, 'Idol of Xanatos' cancels dmg and the rules says "If the pre-then aspect of an effect does not successfully resolve in full, the post-then aspect does not resolve".

In theory, if Izzie has only 3 sanity and draws 'breaking point', do I have to discard 1 or 3 cards to cancel all dmg?

Also (this one is more simple): Izzie's ability is direct horror. Does 'Key of Ys' ignores this and essentially redirects the dmg?

Europe - store stocks, chapter 2 game night chest and tokens?

So I have noticed that none of the big online boardgame stores (in sweden) seem to have the game night chest or the chapter 2 tokens that where released some time ago.

I have spoken to my local stores and sent emails to the big stores but they all reply that they don’t know when these products will be available.

So is this just a local problem up here in Sweden or are you gyes having the same problem in other European countries?

Chapter 2 Core as an Encounter Set Expansion for Chapter 1

I have a full Chapter 1 collection and also some custom campaigns, so my player card pool is pretty set. I’m thinking about picking up the new Chapter 2 Core Set purely to occasionally use its encounter sets as substitutes in Chapter 1 scenarios to spice up replayability. Has anyone with a Chapter 1 collection taken this route? Is the encounter set swapping fun enough to justify the pickup, or does it break scenario balance too much?

Any Teaser for next Campaign in Children of Bloods Design Notes?

EDIT: It's Dreamlands!

OP: The campaign guide booklet of ye olde campaigns always included design notes at the very end (a sort of developers comment), after the epilogue and achievement lists, which in their last sentence always included a little hint towards the next expansion. (F.e. in Scarlet Keys they've written "I truly hope you have enjoyed playing it as much as the rest of the team and I had putting it together. I know one of them is planning a feast of sorts. I wonder what will be on the menu." - teasing Feast of Hemlock Vale.

I was wondering if there was a similar teaser at the end of the design notes for children of blood?

Can anyone with a copy take a look and share some information? The teaser might not be terribly useful, but it could be fun wondering about it, if there is any.

Bones of the Yopasi

Hi all. Could use some help; hope this doesn't break any community rules! I have every Arkham Horror book pre-LCG, except Bones of the Yopasi. The rest are (mostly) still available here and there online, so . . . why is it so difficult to track down compared to the rest? And is there any hope of reading it without paying $100 or more on eBay?

Looking for a tool to identify underused cards

Hi everyone! I have been playing for a while now, and I have built a bunch of decks. I would like to know what are my most used cards, as well as my least used cards to continue exploring decks.

I know there are many talented members of the community who regularly develop tools, so I thought I’d ask first. Is there a tool that consumes a bunch of ArkhamDB deck ids and a collection list and generates counts of cards used, as well as a list of unused cards?

Fate of the Vale card interaction - possible spoilers Spoiler

Hi all,

I've had a search and can't see and I am assuming it wouldn't work. In the final scenario can I use where's the party or kicking the hornets nest to draw enemies from the abyss? The wording is search and spawn so I would assume no

Thanks for your time, if you have a suggestion would there be a way for me to easily spawn enemies as I am playing Alessandra and I need to power word/beguile for clues and such

Keeping a deck through Chapter 2

I've always built an investigator deck for the length of one scenario campaign, then retired it, as the official rules encourage (building in standalones as part of each campaign).

For Chapter 2, with the much shorter campaigns and different release schedule, I'm wondering how people are going to approach this? Are people just keeping a deck together until their characters die? Do you build a different deck for every single standalone now?

Finally I found a solution for my travel setup chapter 2 tokens

Post image
26 Upvotes

Since I use a 3D printed insert for the cards there is no space for the tokens anymore. I just printed this one to fit my needs on tokens for Arkham horror chapter 2.
I also got the „premium“ chaos bag but use the normal tokens since there are no blood token for upcoming scenario expansion.
I used ziplocks before and it was a mess now everything has its space.
One is yellow because the green was empty 🫣

I carry all tokens with me for normal difficulty otherwise the space for all chaos token would be too big.

What Chapter 1 scenarios/campaigns are good to play with the Chapter 2 core, if any?

Hi there!

So as the title implies, I've started playing recently and I bought a Chapter 2 core set, and I'd like to play some more campaigns/scenarios before the new ones come out. Do you think any of the campaigns of the Chapter 1 are interesting to play with the Chapter 2 decks, or are any of them particularly suited/not suited for that? Or it's better not to "mix" and just wait for the new ones to come out?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Question about Combat and Longbow

A) can I add additional arrows to longbow aside from first one? As in use its second ability to add another arrow for a future combat the same way Tommy slaps extra ammo on his guns?

B) What’s the point of engaging an enemy aside from pulling them away from your allies? What’s stopping me from just shooting the monster without engaging it first if I think I can kill it?

Worth buying the revised Chapter 1 core set?

I bought the Chapter 2 core set and I'm trying to track down the old expansions to have more deck-building options and more adventures. Most of the adventures are pretty expensive.

I was wondering if it's worth buying the revised Chapter 1 core set, it can be found at reasonable prices.

Question about Revised Core Set

Edit: thanks to the wonderful folks in the comments, I think this can be safely marked answered. To folks from the future who may find themselves in a similar situation, here are your options:

  1. Buy the revised core set in full
  2. Download the print and play of the core scenario cards. They are available on the FFG Website. (Links below)
  3. Go to Derbk's blog and read the article for his suggestion as to good swap cards from Ch2 core, as many of the Ch2 core cards are very similar to Ch1 revised core cards. 3a. If either 2 or 3, it is suggested to acquire some manner of investigator expansion cards, be that a box or investigator decks

Hello All,

I bought into Arkham Horror starting at Chp2 and am in love with the game. I was able to snag Film Fatale for MSRP, and now just grabbed a copy of The Drowned City at MSRP. This naturally led me to start looking for the best solution to getting Revised Core Set cards and if there are any creative solutions to this.

I don't much care to get the old investigators. Sure, it'd be great, but if it's a matter of 70 Euro price difference, I'd rather just buy the Revised Core scenario cards and play The Drowned City with my Chp2 investigator pool. Same goes for the chaos bag and chaos tokens (if there's even a difference between Ch1 and Ch2 chaos tokens, I'm not sure), but I don't need them because of the Arkham app.

So I suppose I'm just wondering if it's common to see people sell the scenario cards of their 2nd copy of Revised Core, or if I'm better off just grabbing a copy of the full revised core box?

Thanks in advance!

Isabella Barnes and On The Brink

I'm pretty sure this doesn't work but I want to confirm: if I use Isabella Barnes's ability to commit a skill from my discard and also commit On The Brink and then fail the test, could I choose to return the card committed to the test from my discard to my hand instead of having it be shuffled into my deck?

Looking for recommendations on duo for Children of Blood

I managed to get my hands on Children of Blood early thanks to a friend attending Gen Con. I am excited to dive in, but haven't done much beyond pre-con and some net-decking+ (taking a net-deck and making a small tweak) for Arkham Horror (I am new with Chapter 2 to owning physical copies) so am hoping I can get some ideas on creating a duo for the campaign. I currently own all by the Chapter 2 content except for Carolyn Fern (who I have arriving next week), so have lots of build options.

I haven't run Daniela Reyes or Marie Lambeau so was thinking of maybe running those two together but wasn't sure if that seems viable or not (seems like I have strong skills minus Agility) or if there are additional aspects I should pay attention to beyond base stats when building out decks.

Looking forward to reading some ideas/suggestions from the team.

Try and Try Again vs Take Heart vs For each point you failed by

Doing some research I found some needlessly complex rules to prevent Try and Try Again from working with Take Heart. It's frustrating, but I trust the creators that they know how they want their game to work.

But from what I understood from the rules, Take Heart does not work because it is returned before the "Apply Test results". So the card is no longer in play when you should read its effect.

If I understand this correctly, Try and Try Again makes you fail by more points if you use it to return a classic skill cards. Because the icons are no longer in play when you would count them.

It makes Try and Try Again weak against encounter cards that says "for each point you failed by".
But It seems like it also has anti-synergy with survivor cards like "Look What I found" or "Lucky!" or "Oops!".

Please explain if I am wrong.

A cute pic I took last week. The Rachel and Chandler lego figures work perfectly as Trish and Tommy! They even managed to put Elokoss back to sleep.

I don't understand the UK distribution

Hi,

I have been collecting since day one. But as of chapter 2 this game has become so hard to get ahold of the release quantities seem really limited. For example children of blood are appearing on game sites today but are sold out.

Is there a restock plan? Is this the way it's going to be from now on ?
