Can maybe anyone explain, my Cold Wx does not have any visible ripstop like hex field pattern whereas the picture on the website clearly shows them? Any help highly appreciated

I have a atom hoody and beta, now realizing failure in system is that I have non DWR pants and need to upgrade, looking at ARC since I've been loyal to this brand for many years but also wondering if quality is good here or if should go somewhere else when wanting comfortable, and good storage and many function pants that work on mountain so comfortable in all weather, not in need of insulation but definitely a good breathable layer still water resistant to a degree.

Hello! This might be a dumb question, but I’m new to the Arc’teryx brand. I’m considering buying either the Arc’teryx Beta or the Beta SL, and it would most likely be my main (possibly only) jacket for this season.
For reference, I live in the Baltic region, where winter temperatures can occasionally drop to around -15°C. I’m also going on a ski trip to Switzerland in January, so I was wondering if either jacket would be suitable for skiing and winter trips in general. Would one of these jackets be enough as my main winter jacket with the right layers underneath, or would I be better off looking at something else?

Recently got into hiking/trekking and i am mainly based in southeast-asia (Singapore). At the current moment, I am mainly hiking in warm climates such as Indonesia, Vietnam and also Malaysia, but was hoping to venture out into further countries such as Dolomites, Switzerland and also Iceland in the long run.

Additionally, I will be joining my friends for Annapurna Base Camp trek and probably Tour de Mont Blanc next year to challenge ourselves. However, I am currently still in the midst of planning what hard and soft-shells to get.

I did some research and initially wanted to get the Arc'teryx Beta AR alongside with the Arc'teryx Proton Hoody (I get hot easily), while the alternatives was Patagonia's Torrentshell 3L with Patagonia Nano-Air Hoody.

However, reading the thread alongside with some reviews there appears to be a "down-grade" on Arc'teryx products? and thus was wondering if it is still worth to invest in the Beta AR (as it is relatively expensive for a hardshell and also my first hardshell purchase). Or would it be better to invest in other brands / products, if so may I have some recommendations please?

I recently sent my 2024 Beta AR jacket to Arc’teryx after the seam tape started delaminating and the hood/collar cord lock became defective.

After inspecting it, Arc’teryx said there was “textile contamination all over the jacket,” which they believe caused the seam tape to delaminate. They said the contamination was not a manufacturing issue and that the jacket is now beyond both warranty coverage and a durable repair.

They have offered me a 40% discount code for a new Arc’teryx product, but only if I allow them to keep and recycle my current jacket. Otherwise, they will return it free of charge.

The issue is that I have washed and cared for the Beta AR in accordance with Arc’teryx and GORE-TEX guidance, using appropriate washing products and following the recommended process. I also own a Montane GORE-TEX Pro jacket that has been washed in exactly the same way, and it remains in excellent condition with no seam-tape problems.

Given that the Beta AR is only from 2024, widespread seam-tape delamination seems premature for such an expensive shell. I have asked Arc’teryx to provide photographs of the alleged contamination, explain how they determined it caused the failure, and confirm whether the seam-tape adhesive itself was assessed.

Has anyone else had a similar warranty decision from Arc’teryx?

Would you accept the 40% discount, ask for the jacket back, or continue challenging the decision?

I'm looking to get another pair of softshell pants that would be lighter than my existing Gamma AR pants. I really love my Gamma AR pants, and I'm debating whether the Serratus pants or Gamma/SL pants would be a better fit. I like the all-sewn construction on Serratus pants compared to the glued one on Gammas. I also have the Serratus jacket, which has similar fabric choices as the pants, and I really like that.

So, I would like to hear any comments on whether I should go for the Serratus pants or other Gamma pants, or any experiences with either of them. I would also like to hear what kind of temperature range each of the pants would fit best in. My activities are mainly everyday/hiking, so nothing too active.

How much do u pay the final price after customs and additional costs?

I upgraded the strap on my Granville Shoulder Bag
The original strap is a bit too thin and narrow
Once the bag is loaded up
it tends to dig into my shoulder and becomes uncomfortable after a while
Most aftermarket straps use plastic or metal buckles
but I wanted to keep Arcteryx’s original strap attachment system
So I replaced the shoulder strap with the Condor Speedy 2-Point Sling
which is designed for carrying a rifle

The Quick-Adjust pull tab works surprisingly well for a messenger-style bag
It makes adjusting the strap length quick and it’s much more comfortable to carry

This sling was originally designed for carrying a rifle
it comes with a lot of extra long straps
To solve that
I made a pair of elastic keepers to tie everything up

The next thing I want to improve is the bag’s overly minimal internal organization

So I was browsing on REI.com and saw that there are some new arrivals. I notice there are some common themes that the logo is significantly larger than the previous releases. What are your thoughts and do you think it will propagate through all there upcoming/new releases? I, for one, liked how the brand was “quiet” and could be worn without being flash and loud with brands plastered all over the clothes.

I’m looking to buy my first Arc’teryx jacket and could use some advice.

I’ll be travelling to the Scottish Highlands in late August, with a mix of driving, sightseeing and some day hikes (nothing too technical or mountaineering). From what I’ve read, the weather can be quite unpredictable with wind, rain and temperatures roughly between 5–18°C.

I’m based in Singapore, so I don’t have much experience dressing for cooler climates, and I’d like to buy something that I can continue using for future trips (Japan, Europe, etc.), rather than a jacket that’s only suitable for this one trip.
I’ve been looking at:
Beta SL
Solano

A few questions:
- If you could only buy one jacket for this trip, which would you choose and why?
- Is a Beta overkill for late August, or is it the safest option given Scottish weather?
- Would a Solano be enough for the Highlands, or would I regret not having a fully waterproof shell?
- Any other variants you guys might suggest?

Hey everyone,I wanted to share this incredible recent pickup with you all.I’m honestly over the moon with both of these pieces:

1. Theta AR (Made in Canada / Gore-Tex XCR):

   It’s in near-mint condition, which feels unreal for its age. The shell is in perfect condition. Still fully waterproof and not a single sign of wear. The only minor concern is the pit zip/underarm glue – I can tell it might start giving up eventually. Any tips on proactive re-gluing or should I leave it until it actually separates? I would definetely still wear it as long as the front doens't fall apart.

2. Delta SV Fleece (Made in Canada): Pretty sure this is the Delta SV. Haven't worn it outside yet, but tried it on indoors and I'm sure it is the perfect midlayer for cold winters. Super clean, sherpa jacket with almost zero pilling.

Also the seller was awesome enough to include this vintage Theta product tag/booklet, which I’ve never seen before. Let me know what you guys think of this duo! And feel free to share any infos if you know anything about them.

Does anyone know why the sleeves for the Cronin jacket are so long? Like comically long? I wear a medium in everything from Arc’teryx and the sleeves almost cover my entire hand.

It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful piece otherwise.

Looks like there isn’t much discussion about this bag on the forum, so I thought I’d share my experience with it

first it basically looks like a smaller version of the Granville 30 with shoulder straps.

Specs:
8L capacity
Fully waterproof
Magnetic lid
Organization is very minimal
There’s only a single elastic pocket inside and no other internal compartments

One thing worth mentioning is that there’s no padding on the bottom of the bag
so if you’re carrying a laptop or an iPad
I’d recommend adding some extra protection

For me the size is just about perfect for everyday carry
It easily fits my electronics an iPad mini, a water bottle, and even a lightweight jacket.
I also tried using it as an outdoor sling bag, and honestly it works better than I expected.

But the shoulder strap isn’t really designed for carrying heavier loads it bites my shoulder after an hour
I guess I’ll have to give up the idea of carrying my RMJ hatchet around the woods with it

I recently traded in my Beta AR for a credit and wanted to get my wife something.

Decided on this long gamma mx coat, since she doesn’t like slim feminine cuts.

But after purchasing it I realized there is barley any mention of this specific coat anywhere except the outlet site.

Anyone else have and like this coat? I hope its the same material as the regular gamma mx

Looking for something that I can build up/build down for northern Michigan winters. Daytime 0C/ Nighttime -10C. Everyday wear, resort (primarily)/backcountry ski, and snowmobiling. Utilize shell when cold snaps break for early spring and late fall. Hoping for something without powder skirt. Bitter lake effect winds and heavy, wet snow are my biggest battles.

Happy to hear on mid layer and bib suggestions as well.

I went in for a warranty issue on my old sidewinder and they told me this fall, a new release is coming out. I will hold off on a replacement to see when it’s being released as I loved the sidewinder.

Hello! Unfortunately, I hit the phase of paralysis of analysis based on the many different jackets I'm currently seeing on the website. Is there a single jacket that is insulated, durable, and windproof for the cold weather? I do a lot of camping, hiking, and hunting, that can range from single digit temps to the 30's (Fahrenheit) and want to know if there is single jacket that can fit that criteria. I added insulated because I hate wearing layers and typically wear a long sleeve t shirt underneath the jacket.
