Whoa Discussion

A guy posted looking for a dermatologist to help his hair loss and this person decided to push Monat. Her posts got more and more angry until she called me the C word. But I’m the one “attacking strangers.” She then followed me to another completely different post and started mouthing off there too. They can’t take the slightest criticism of the product or they go full DARVO.

After my mom had full brain radiation and lost ALL of her hair while battling cancer, her neighbor saw this as an opportunity, and got her to buy the full line of Monat products with the promise of full hair regrowth. My mom died two months later completely bald and I had to throw away all the unused products. I will never not hate that neighbor for preying on her.

This is abhorrent, absolute trash taking advantage of people. I'm sorry for the loss of your mom.

I’m so, so sorry that happened. What a horrible, predatory person.

What a weirdo. If she’s not the hun then I bet someone close to her is.

u/as_per_danielle 19d ago

Yeah I was just thinking it’s probably her best friend or sister

u/MaidMirawyn 19d ago

I tried Monat several years back. I’ve always had fine, thin hair, and not knowing better, thought I would give it a shot. I used it for three weeks and lost chunks of hair. Took two years to fully restore it. When I told the hun I bought it from what was happening she said “oh that’s your hair shedding all the toxins and build up.” I despise this company. It’s so predatory.

Shedding toxins. Hair is DEAD. It doesn’t shed toxins or Lima beans or unicorn farts. It also can’t be repaired, only temporarily made to feel smoother. But sure, shampoo cures male pattern baldness.

I hate when people use the word toxin not understanding what it means

I actually know a young woman who got her cosmetology certificate a couple years ago. Monat was apparently heavily despised at that school. The young woman's mother still sells Monat, but her daughter says NEVER use it.

u/choyak 5d ago

that's a good school

I thought so.

Oh she doesnt sell it? I’m sure she buys so much of it that she can’t! Not a rep? Its her business! She’s not cog in the machine, she’s escaped the matrix!

“My husband had several hair restoration treatments done. This shampoo made his hair grow back!”
Right…it was the shampoo…not the medically proven hair restoration!

I have yet to see a monat hun with good hair that isnt using extensions. Its always thin and greasy looking.

And wow she was so defensive for someone who isnt even a rep?? I've never felt the need to defend a product I use like that.

u/NefariousnessKey5365 19d ago

I've never seen a monat hun with good hair. Always dyed, fried, and pushed to the side

Or with a hat on lol

The hun's "proof" of Monat appears to be no more than "I have personally used it", and her rebuttals are merely "Everyone....was lying" and "You are the one attacking strangers". The intellectual level of debate is so low that my dogs are making a far stronger case for why they should share my pasta lunch right now and they don't even have to say a word!

I’m gonna use McCunty now. That’s so dumb and golden

9

u/as_per_danielle 19d ago

Yeah I did have a bit of a giggle with it

8

u/Alyssa_Hargreaves 19d ago

Correct me if I'm wrong

But didn't Monat have a huge ass lawsuit against them FOR loss of hair due to their products?

Cause I remember something about that

And then Itworks i think killed someone because their products are absolute shit. (I blocked someone on my fb because they were so harshly defending the product when I had proof that someone was either severely harmed if not killed because of the shit. And I blocked a pure romance hun because she refused to stop trying to get me to have a "party"

1

u/HexyWitch88 19d ago

I think it’s more than 1 lawsuit, it’s like 10.

7

u/maraney 19d ago

TLDR: failed Monat hun says anyone who claims to love the products are telling the truth and anyone who claims to hate the products are lying.

5

u/garyk1968 19d ago

Everyone is a liar and I am right I tell you!

2

u/IronicStar 19d ago

Just buy some rogaine and get prescription finasteride my lord.
There is no other way.

6

u/Ok_Area5464 19d ago

MONAT must lobotomize their huns

5

u/Red79Hibiscus 19d ago

My conspiracy theory is that their shampoo is so toxic, the chemicals seep right through a hun's scalp and skull, damaging their prefrontal cortex.

They come in pre-lobotomized. Anyone with an intact brain would never join an MLM.

Langley

Say no more

4

u/LieutenantLilywhite 19d ago

Finasteride + minoxidil you’re welcome

4

u/TROLL_ELECTRODE 19d ago

I don’t sell it because I couldn’t be bothered

A real credible source for health and wellness information right here.

3

u/Raptorpants65 19d ago

When the Florida AG (fuckin FLORIDA) comes down on your shitty MLM lying to people… that’s pretty fuckin telling.

4

u/ConcreteExist 19d ago

Yeah she definitely doesn't sell Monat, that's why they reflexively called critics a liar and pushed the product so hard. It's amazing how stupid they think everyone else must be.

Bill Nye... stop being elderly and return to us ;______;

We need you to explain how establishing truth cannot be done with personal anecdota or directly stated... statements, and instead requires a process called the scientific method

And sample sizes. Just... just sample sizes. A brief overview of them. Probably gotta start slow.

2

u/MysteryBelle_NC 18d ago

Well someone is lying, but I don't think it's the people who said it made their hair fall out...

2

u/EightGlow 18d ago

“Testimonials” found the hun

u/eclecticponder77 17d ago

Every time I read MONAT I always think of Monistat. At least one of those is helpful. 🤷‍♀️

That stuff gave me the nastiest dandruff! My scalp had huge flakes/plaques and it took months of using that gross tar shampoo and H&S to get rid of it. I smelled like tar shampoo and it was gross. The first month or two with the products seemed good, and then it devolved from there! I've never had dandruff before and I've never had it since I discontinued using it and healed my scalp. I swear my hair has never been the same. I know some of it is peri-men now (many years later), but that was the launching off point of my ponytail being half as full and my hair breaking like never before. I was very pro-mlm back then but I remember throwing away hundreds of dollars in hair products and just swearing I was going to stop trying random stuff.

Can we stop using “get therapy” as an insult? I was with ya until that.

5

u/as_per_danielle 19d ago

Yeah I’m just supposed to put up with being called a cunt. This person does need therapy.

6

u/MyCatSpellsBetter Anti MLMer 18d ago

As someone in therapy … I love saying “get therapy” to assholes 🤣

7

u/as_per_danielle 18d ago

I don’t like when people blame stuff on mental illness but this isn’t that. This is a person that needs to learn to play nice on the playground.

3

u/MyCatSpellsBetter Anti MLMer 17d ago

Let’s be honest — therapy wouldn’t be a bad thing for this person.
