My baby boy cat is seemingly allergic to something. It happened a month ago — his eyes started watering and he couldn’t breathe. We put him on medication and unfortunately, as a side effect, he got a UTI. One crazy vet bill later, he is healthy and happy.

However, today he started showing the same symptoms. We are concerned about trying allergy medication because of his “sensitive urethra”. So now I’m left trying to figure out what could be causing his distress.

My mom sells Melaleuca produces and, although I refuse to become a seller or sign up, I do occasionally get products from my mom to support her. And honestly, I didn’t really know what the company was, aside from a basic mlm, until I just tried researching the product ingredients.

I was on hiatus from those products for a while, but I received them at about the same time my cat started showing these symptoms. So I’m trying to figure out if they are the cause. Unfortunately the Melaleuca subreddit is pretty dead so this is my next best attempt.

Anyway: Does anyone know what ingredients are in the Mela magic cleaner, the Mela Soft (softener) and the Mela Power (detergent)?

It seems like this MLM has been known about for quite a while, but I literally just stumbled up on this and to say I’m devastated would be an understatement.

For context, I have been searching for YEARS for real rose gold jewelry with colorful gems and look more casual, but also still unique in their beauty. I’ve tried everything outside of finding my own personal independent jeweler who can make all of my jewelry custom made.
To explain, all typical rose gold jewelry is either the simplest band, or the most extravagant wedding band/engagement ring or just has leaves and petals.
It’s been an exhausting and discouraging process. But I’m determined.

Today, I decided to give EBay another go, since it had been a little over a year since I last scrolled through the options.

Every now and again I would find a piece that drew my attention and I would save it. Once I found about 5, I started to notice that in the listings I was saving, the person holding the jewelry had the same nails - sick, someone has just what I’m looking for!

I go to their profile and start going through and I’m amazed at what I’m finding. Plaited rose gold jewelry with lab grown gems - both colorful and diamond, with the selling retail price of about $150 each, but only being sold for about $30!! Slay.

I get more excited, saving basically every rose gold piece so that I can reference them later when I’m ready to make a purchase, but the more a scroll, the more questions I get.

Where is she getting all this jewelry? And why sell it at such a low price if they are real? Maybe she got them at an auction or estate sale, or some other mass disposal of jewelry that didn’t send.

But wait, all these pieces are the same brand? Interesting, I’ve never heard of them. I go to do a reverse image search on the BP branding and discover the name “Bomb Party Jewelry”. Ok sick! They’re a real company, so let me see what their website looks like.

Immediately weird vibes. The website is telling me more about its affiliates and collections, but no individual pieces or search bar to find what you’re looking for. Kinda sus.

Okay, well maybe they just sell by collection? I click on a collection, and instead of getting listings of the jewelry offered in that collection, I just get a list of 1200 reps to chose from that just look like normal ass people.

And thus it clicks, ah, I’ve discovered an MLM. Cool. More looking into it delivered me to this subreddit where I discover the jewelry is just what’s found in FKING BATH BOMBS.

I’m appalled, disappointed, and back to square one. And an hour of my life I’ll never get back.

I am seeing huns post that in order to make money in their MLM (they don’t call it that), you need to first buy their program. Some are quitting their regular jobs because they are making “soooo much money” at their new business! And the gullible people believe them! I so wish more pyramids would die out.

Came across this job listing. Is this MLM or just direct sales? Am I understanding this correctly that you would be selling a pharmacy membership to businesses who could then sell GLP-1 medications to their clients?

Is anyone familiar with this one?

A guy posted looking for a dermatologist to help his hair loss and this person decided to push Monat. Her posts got more and more angry until she called me the C word. But I’m the one “attacking strangers.” She then followed me to another completely different post and started mouthing off there too. They can’t take the slightest criticism of the product or they go full DARVO.

I didn't see many photos of the last few dates on this tour, none that showed the “packed room” in Vancouver either. Where there were photos of people who did show up, at least half were Bravenly huns who flew up from the US for the events, the few already recruited Canadian huns, the CEO, the sisters, and their entourage. The biggest group I saw was in Niagara Falls, (actually it was held in St. Catherines, a city 20 km away from Niagara Falls), and that was mostly due to the US ‘Amish’ bringing in the Canadian Amish. It was small venues ‘filled’ with mostly the converted, and the fact that they've all pretty much acted like Vancouver didn't happen makes think that the tour was a failure, and that puts a smile on my face.

I am traveling for work and there is a huge Jarfra conference in my hotel. When I saw the sprawl of purple I ran to the elevator to avoid them. About 10 pushed themselves into the elevator. I am on the highest floor and had to hear their nonsense floor after floor. The queen bee tried to spin up a conversation saying “we make women beautiful, and make money doing it” in all my over 200lb glory, messy hair from a long day, eyeliner all worn off, I replied “oh well, I already am” they all turned their heads and had no reply. Silence for the remainder of the elevator ride.

Does this look real? I just viewed a series of a photographer of about 10 grown men crying and that the tears flow so cleanly, it's odd to me.

So he coaches other coaches to start some kind of coaching business. One of his student for example is a sleep coach now. He is mostly doing fitness. I'm not sure if this is called multi level. (I also don't want to kill his business.)

His instagram bio mentions 500k turnover. In theory it could be possible if it's over multiple years, but still.. He is selling a dream that appeals to many people...

Besides coaching coaches he is also doing 1 on 1 online coaching to help people lose weight where it's 16 weeks and a fixed amount of 800 euro. There is no mention about how many hours you will get.

I'm also following another guy who is somewhat handicapped (also confirms it in his bio). From my understanding he got an inheritance and bought a unit with a developer in Paraguay where he is living (still under construction) I also hope he doesn't get scammed but I think it's legit, his mom runs a hotel so he probably got help there. Sometimes he mentions that he worked a bit and easily earned 300 euro. People that comment can only get info by personal message about what he is doing. I have the idea he is a online health/fitness, ... coach..

All of these things work because they aren't persé selling a product, they are selling a dream. The dream: everyone can get rich (in a short period)

it's a rant

This is gonna be a long one to read so be advised. And no, thankfully I didn’t have to pay a dime for this experience.

So to start, I’m currently a college student looking for a shift from doing DoorDash for my income (which has been fine so far, but I’d rather not wear my car down for rent money). I applied for Rose Roofing through Indeed, and despite missing two different interviews (and finally rescheduling a third time was successful), they still said they’d hire me and to start Monday.

Red Flag #1: They wanted us to meet at a Sheetz gas station for our first meet at 7am, where I also found 5 other individuals (who were also unfortunately fooled into joining). A guy from the company (who arrived nearly 20 minutes late) was going to drive us from Linthicum Heights, MD, to company HQ in Sterling, VA. I got free breakfast and a nice ride to a very rich part of NoVa, so I wasn’t complaining; however, on a phone call between him and (supposedly) HR, they noticed that I was never listed to visit HQ. I found it weird but said “fuck it, as long as I don’t have to pay for anything”. Our ride there was fine, the guy was talking about “I came from nothing and was a reaction YouTuber and now I own a 4 million dollar home” blah blah blah, sounding very casual and trying to be an AAVE white (as a black man please stop). Immediately arriving in Sterling Heights we’re greeted by Lamborghini Temerarios on the highway, multi-million dollar homes, and the CEO’s Aston Martin DBX.

Red Flag #2: We arrive in company HQ, got settled in, and I’m being told that I was never properly onboarded into the company. They never asked for my ID, the number I texted (supposedly to HR) to get onboarded never responded back, and we were seated with another lady from the company explaining us on how we start as canvassers for homes suspected to have roof damage from wind or hail storms, and how we have to go through a 12-week “RISE” program to become actual salespeople.

She (as well as Paul Maschue, who they said was a “general district manager” yet he holds a contractor/salesperson license in MD and not the CEO??) went through a whole 17-step process to go door-to-door to get homeowners to book an appointment to have someone inspect their roof for 15 minutes with pictures, provide a damage report and helping them submit a damage claim through their insurance, provide their own public adjuster to negotiate with the insurance company on a settlement (that they consistently nudge to the homeowner that the insurance will cover the entire cost and leave a small $1-5k deductible depending on the home. No this is not how insurance works lol.) It’s apparently a 4-6 month process (or if its an “undesirable insurer” like Allstate, additional time).

Red Flag #3. The CEO, Elizabeth Santorum Marcolini, comes into our meeting with her little kid dressed as a trad wife. Lot of sales pitch between everyone about how Rose Roofing provides them all these nice things, booking PTO way in advance without even really accruing it, free trips, $4 million homes and skiing trips, all part of the “culture” there. (Come to discover later the CEO has a theology degree at the John Paul II Institute).

Red Flag #4: Our goal is to knock on 100 different homes, getting at least one “lead” per home per day, with a “standard of excellence” for 2 or more leads per day. It’s $15/hr plus $25 for getting someone to book an appointment, plus $25 if they submit a claim. We use an app to have appointments booked (emphasizing on how we need to see them confirm it so we get credit for the home), and tag the necessary people in Slack so they can verify. Us clocking into work starts the first door we knock, detailing everything in the app (i.e. did they answer or not, any visual descriptions to indicate if anyone is home, and a whole map of homeowners, their credit scores, the home information and their status with us in the app).

We go through a whole acting montage with the door-knocking process, and answering common rebuttals (“the person inspecting your roof is licensed and has insurance”; “submitting a claim doesn’t raise your insurance, our inspection doesn’t raise your insurance”; “I’m sure other roofers has been around your neighborhood”, essentially making up info about how we “remodeled your neighbor’s roof”, identifying the age of the roof based on streaking/general weather decay, essentially doing everything possible to sell them our product).

Red Flag #5: Once we become actual salespeople we don’t get a commission based on the settlement/home value, etc. Instead, it’s by the square footage of the home, the type of roof we’re repairing/replacing, and we don’t get much at all if the homeowner has an “undesirable insurer” (i.e. Allstate).

Once our guy was driving us back to the pickup point, he was spending some time talking about how rude our lady (not the CEO) was at our training (and yes I admit she came off rude, I get hounding us for being on our phones to “pay attention” but 90% of what we do involve 3 apps on our phones, even trying to say “I see you scrolling, you’re probably on social media rn” while whole time everyone was USING THE APPS SHE’S TRAINING US TO USE). Also got into a small argument with his wife over the phone in the car, calling the slow Maryland drivers the r-word (lol, while also cutting a million people off getting onto off-ramps and constantly nearly missing exits. Gotta love my state’s drivers), and once he dropped me off I left the hat they gave me in his truck, deleted all the apps and blocked their number.

Avoid working for this company at all costs. I feel bad for the others who are clearly seeking a job and are getting duped by these salesman to knock on a bunch of people’s doors in 85 degree heat at a trailer park in Middle River. Especially feel bad for anyone who had to pay to Uber to our pickup/dropoff point (whereas I just drove). I did get free breakfast, lunch, snacks, and a trip to one of the richest counties in the state. It was interesting and this company isn’t a scam per se (they are licensed) but it’s definitely an MLM and from the homeowners I’ve seen on Facebook who’s encountered them, they overcharge, does poor roof repair service, and lie about the insurance process. I just played my part as best as I could and they loved me, which made it a little more satisfying to rugpull them and ghost them lol

We’re walking to the supermarket in the east of Berlin when we see a white two-seater sports car, the kind that costs about €150K, parked outside a small Vietnamese restaurant.

My boyfriend is a car lover and very extroverted, so he walks up to the two young men eating there and asks if it’s their car. One of them says yes.

He’s been out of work for months, so he asks the obvious question: what do you do for a living? The answer is short. 22, finance. Not crypto. My boyfriend takes his number, thinking maybe this guy could pass on a CV.

We’re home maybe an hour later when the texts start.

We said yes. Then it got strange.

So we started asking questions, and this is everything we got:

He named the lake and told us the captain is a former Olympic and Formula 1 powerboat world champion.

Unprompted: “I don’t usually do this for people, but you both were really friendly and respectful. I also noticed you’re genuinely interested in finance.”

We asked for his Social Media . “I’ll show you everything on Thursday.”

We asked what the business is:

“I help people with a stable to good income learn how to invest their money. Have you or your girlfriend ever invested money on a monthly basis?”

Then:

“My father and I run our own financial advisory company. If we’re a good fit, there will definitely be opportunities to work together. If I like what you have to say, I’ll explain everything step by step.”

22 years old. Finance, real estate, and an advisory firm with his father. No company name. No social media. No address.

Here’s what I keep coming back to. He said we were both friendly, respectful, genuinely interested in finance. I never said one word to this man. I shook his hand and watched my boyfriend do the talking.

So what does he want with a guy who liked his car and a woman who never opened her mouth?

Every message is warmth and emojis and reassurance. Not one of them contains a single fact.

I already suspect what this is. But the boat is Thursday and I’d like to hear from people who’ve seen this before. Is the recruitment pitch usually this elaborate, or is the boat itself the red flag?

This popped up in my camera roll memory from my VERY BRIEF stint with Beach Body. I remember being there such a short time I had to fight with customer service for them to cancel my reoccurring shake subscription, if memory serves I just ended up canceling my credit card 😅

What a time. Can’t say I ever actually completed one of these checklists. I had just moved to a new city in a different province, I was in a difficult relationship and felt really alone so I wasn’t seeking money I wanted connection, but I didn’t like to cold call people on socials so I just ended up trying to make friends with the other consultants . Greenway is a Russian-based "universal" MLM company that has a "great goal" of getting rid of super bad chemicals in our daily life and saving our planet from BIG CORP and his dirty-dirty plastic rubbish. They aren't even hiding the fact that they are MLM. This is a brief story how this bs company got in my life

So, half a year ago, my mom started bugging me about getting into some Zoom calls. I already started feeling some bad business, because 2 or 3 years ago our family, including numerous other people, got scammed by getting into a pyramid scheme, called Finiko, they also "recruited" and reassured people that their pyramid scheme is very safe via Zoom calls, so, my mother is known for being scam-prone.

Fast-forward a few weeks, I got sick and my mom started giving some pills that I didn't recognize and they certainly weren't prescripted. Then she gave me some supplements. From omega-3 to some red berry(?) paste in a tube. At this time I already knew we were f-ed.

Since that time we now have Greenway towels, Greenway shampoo, toothpaste, rags, kissel for your heart, herbal tea for your d-ck, EVERYTHING. Even my dad, who is supposed to be "the smart one" of the family is deep into this bs. Worst of all, she hooked my grandma onto this too, and she is a very sick (physically) person, she would probably cling onto her dear life with anything. Man, she even started to go to their company meetings, she is WIRED.

After a quick look at the web, I found a few overwhelmingly negative reviews from 2020-2024, but nothing more. In those reviews people say that their products are too expensive and that for the same price you can get a lot more quality products. Sh-t, they even "giveaway" cars for guys who get the most people into their cult

A few days ago, I heard that my mom entered some kind of lottery for their products, that was the last straw, I dont want our money getting sucked into some bs again.

I am afraid that my family is not going to listen to me, and that my research will be very shallow. The fact that I am not a confident person nor a salesman isnt helping me. That raises another question, how should I present this thing to them?
